Sheffield Utd name Selles as manager to replace Wilder after failed promotion bid
Sheffield United named Ruben Selles as manager to replace Chris Wilder who left after a mutual agreement following the club's failure to gain promotion to the Premier League, the second-tier Championship side said on Wednesday. Selles, who previously managed Southampton and Reading, took charge of Hull City in December with the club bottom of the Championship and the Spanish 42-year-old guided them to safety, avoiding the drop on goal difference. Wilder had signed a contract extension until 2028 with the Blades earlier this year but after finishing third in the Championship, they failed to win the playoff final, losing 2-1 to Sunderland, who scored the winner deep into stoppage time. "Sheffield United can confirm a mutually agreed decision has been reached for manager Chris Wilder to leave the football club," the club said in a statement. "After returning to the club during a difficult period in 2023, he has provided stability and created a new team which earned a Steel City derby double amongst other notable highlights last season. "Showing his calibre as a manager, he guided the club to third place finish... before a heartbreaking conclusion in the playoff final." It marks the second time Wilder has left the club after his first spell in charge ended in March 2021 when they were rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, with the club eventually going down. "I'm obviously disappointed to be leaving, particularly because we were so close to getting back to the Premier League. I'm a Sheffielder through and through, I love this club and this city and that feeling will never change," Wilder said. "I depart with some cherished memories and feel proud to be talked about in the same manner that special Sheffield United managers are remembered – leading this team over 300 times will remain an incredible part of my life."

Cubs' Jed Hoyer Named Among MLB Execs Under Most Pressure
Cubs' Jed Hoyer Named Among MLB Execs Under Most Pressure originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Chicago Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer has not shied away from the media when talking about his team's approach at the MLB trade deadline. After all, the team is 44-28 and just 1.5 games back from the top record in all of baseball (the Detroit Tigers at 46-27). Advertisement But a banged-up and struggling starting rotation, and a continuous need to improve to stay at the top of the standings, has put Hoyer in a situation where the general feeling among analysts is that he must be aggressive at the trade deadline. ESPN's Buster Olney is one of those analysts. In fact, Olney has named Hoyer among six other MLB executives under the most pressure at the trade deadline. "The question for Hoyer is not whether the Cubs will make the playoffs (their playoff chances, per FanGraphs, is 88.5%), but what will make them more dangerous in the meaningful games they're bound to play at the end of the season," Olney said. Chicago Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer speaks to the media during the MLB General Manager's Meetings at Omni Scottsdale Resort & J. Rebilas-Imagn Images So then, how do they address the need to become more dangerous? Olney named three starting pitchers who could help put Chicago over the top. Advertisement The Baltimore Orioles' Zach Eflin, who is 6-2 with a 4.08 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP, but is 31 years old, was named as an "upgrade" to Ben Brown and Colin Rea. But the Arizona Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly was described as a "perfect fit," while Zac Gallen was listed as another option. Kelly has a 3.41 ERA in a team-leading 87 innings pitched. However, Olney says there may be one crucial roadblock to getting a deal done for a player considered to be a star or at least a major upgrade. "The Cubs' payroll is well under the luxury tax threshold -- 12th highest in the majors... Rival evaluators wonder if Cubs ownership will green-light the sort of pricey acquisition that could help this team compete for its second title in the past decade," Olney said. Advertisement One positive: Hoyer has previously been allowed to make big trades that have brought in multiple players who are now key pieces to the team. Global mining leader deploys iManage to enhance governance, knowledge management, and user experience CHICAGO, June 12, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- iManage, the company dedicated to Making Knowledge Work™, today announced that global mining company Rio Tinto has deployed iManage as part of a broader strategy to modernize and streamline its legal operations. More than 200 users across Australia, Singapore, the UK, and North America are now benefiting from the platform. Seeking to improve searchability, performance, and usability, Rio Tinto replaced its legacy SharePoint-based system with iManage Work 10, Threat Manager, and Share. The implementation has delivered significant gains in user adoption and operational efficiency, while enabling the company to better govern legal knowledge and control its data environment. The move supports Rio Tinto's focus on a connected digital ecosystem, in which integrated systems and automation simplify processes and unlock new value. This includes seamless API integration between iManage and Rio Tinto's in-house digital legal hub, with iManage serving as the core content layer. 'With iManage, we've gone from frustrated users to enthusiastic adopters,' said Christopher de Waas, Digital Transformation Lead at Rio Tinto. 'People are finally able to search, file, and manage their documents without friction, and that shift has opened the door to real transformation. We're no longer just solving problems, we're building momentum.' Rio Tinto migrated over 4.5 million documents to iManage and achieved 80% user engagement within the first four months of go-live, with half of the department classified as active users. By enabling users to manage content efficiently, including while offline, iManage has helped reduce rework, increase compliance, and preserve institutional legal knowledge across the organization. 'We're proud to support Rio Tinto as they modernize how their legal team works,' said Suzanne Walmsley, Senior Director of European Sales at iManage. 'Their focus on usability, governance, and transformation aligns perfectly with our mission. It's rewarding to see how quickly iManage has driven engagement and unlocked new possibilities across their team.' Looking ahead, Rio Tinto is exploring the use of iManage's AI capabilities, particularly Ask iManage, to unlock the full potential of its legal knowledge base.
