Duduzile claps back at Floyd Shivambu's 'takes drugs' comments
Duduzile Zuma-Samudla has finally responded to shady comments made by fellow MK Party MP, Floyd Shivambu. In a press briefing on Thursday, 19 June, the former secretary general accused his party nemesis of 'taking drugs'. Floyd was effectively demoted after the party condemned his visit to the wanted Malawian preacher, Shepard Bushiri, last month. On her Instagram Story, Duduzile shared a clip of herself laughing with EFF President Julius Malema. Like Duduzile, Floyd Shivambu threw Malema under the bus, claiming the latter was running a 'cult.' The daughter of Jacob Zuma captioned the clip: 'It's politics after all'. Image via Instagram: @duduzilezuma_sambudla Like Duduzile, Julius Malema has also subtly responded to Floyd Shivambu's comments. After the press conference, the 'CIC' reacted to Floyd's criticism of the EFF and those who supported him. Malema posted a clip of EFF top brass on X: 'The leadership we have is quite alright.' During the briefing, Floyd addressed several topics, including an interest in possibly establishing his own political party. The former MK Party secretary-general also used the opportunity to making shady comments about the ANC, which he labelled as 'directionless' and the EFF, which he called a 'cult'. Referring to his own party, Floyd made a comment many believe was directed at Duduzile, the daughter of the MK Party founder, Jacob Zuma. He said, 'When you raise issues internally, you don't need to gossip about them anywhere. All the issues and concerns I had about MK, I raised internally, even against all odds. When there is an opportunity to raise an issue about wrongdoings. I clearly speak against untouchables who take drugs, tweet at night, and insult us.' He added: 'We confront them and say 'What is this about?'' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 . 'False prophets': Mmusi Maimane takes swipe at Floyd, Bushiri
Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane has taken a swipe at Floyd Shivambu's political standing with the MK Party and his controversial visit to Prophet Shepard Bushiri, a fugitive of South Africa. On Thursday, 19 June, the former secretary-general held a press briefing in which he expressed interest in forming his own party. He also used the opportunity to insult his former parties, the EFF and the ANC. Outspoken Floyd also indirectly threw shade at Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, the daughter of former president Jacob Zuma. With Floyd Shivambu's press conference a hot topic on social media, Mmusi Maimane used his X account to mock the MK MP's headlines. Hinting at his visit to the wanted Malawian pastor, and Floyd's prospective party, Mmusi posted: 'Join @BuildOneSA. We will not Bushiri you'. Addressing South Africans, Mmusi Maimane continued in another post: 'You deserve a political party that does not chase false prophets. You deserve a political party that is not a family business. 'Join the party of ubuntu and professionalism, not umuntu and bushirism'. Throwing more shade – this time at Mzansi's viral drug feind – he added: 'Others, they have Alostro'. Apart from politics, Mmusi Maimaine is also an ordained minister and an elder at the Liberty Church in Johannesburg. The father of three – who has a masters in theology – also regularly preaches at churches around South Africa and around the world. He said of his choice of career: 'Politics is about two things: it's about government and it's about influence…the only way they (Christians) will become in charge of the nation is if the nation votes for them.' 'I will never resign from the MK Party,' says Shivambu
JOHANNESBURG - Floyd Shivambu says he is not resigning as a member of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, despite his ambitions of forming his own political organisation. Shivambu held a media briefing in Midrand on Thursday, where he announced that he will be establishing a committee to look into whether there is a need for a new political party in South Africa. This move comes a few weeks after he was demoted as the MK Party's secretary-general to an ordinary member. The MK Party says Shivambu's demotion was due to his visit to the church of Malawian fugitive, pastor Shepherd Bushiri. ALSO READ: Shivambu claims fake intelligence report on him wanting to overthrow Zuma led to his removal as MKP SG However, Shivambu says he was removed due to a fake intelligence report that claimed he wanted to overthrow the party's leader, Jacob Zuma. Despite his troubles with the MK Party, Shivambu says he remains a member. 'If the MP Party believes that going to listen to the people violates the Constitution, they will tell me that. I will not resign, and I said I will never resign from the MK Party, and I still stick with the decision and communication I made that it was the best decision to join the MK Party.' SHIVAMBU PUNTS FORMING A NEW POLITICAL PARTY Shivambu said he will give up on his idea of starting a new political party if it's rejected by the public. He said the committee will consult widely throughout the country with traditional, church, business and other societal leaders. Shivambu said after the consultation, the committee will make a decision on whether or not it should proceed with establishing a new party. "If majority and genuinely so, if a majority of people say there is no need to form a political party, we will humbly listen to that and take advice from that."

Gloves Off: Shivambu will not be an MK Party MP anymore
MK Party leader Jacob Zuma and former secretary-general Floyd Shivambu. Image: MK Floyd Shivambu is expected to officially resign from uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party following empty promises, including a parliamentary seat, after his dramatic dismissal as the secretary-general. Shivambu is expected to brief the media on political developments in Johannesburg on Thursday. He was removed from his position two weeks ago following his Easter trip to Malawi to attend a church service led by fugitive Shepard Bushiri. Announcing his removal, party leader Jacob Zuma said Shivambu would be redeployed in parliament. Zuma said the decision was made by national officials after extensive consultations and discussions. The trip has sparked internal debate within the party, as well as a renewed review of its leadership processes. Shivambu has not yet responded. According to the party's constitution, Shivambu breached section 3(j) which prohibits international travelling or participation in activities that conflict with the party's agenda. 'The party has taken into account concerns raised by civil society and concluded that swift action was necessary to protect the MKP's image, values, and principles,' said Zuma. Self-proclaimed prophet Bushiri and his wife, Mary, remain fugitives from South African justice after fleeing the country in 2020 while out on bail. The couple faces a litany of serious charges, including fraud, money laundering, rape, and violations of immigration laws. Video Player is loading. However, the Bushiris have since appealed the decision and are now seeking relief from the High Court in Lilongwe, asking it to overturn the ruling. Despite their legal resistance, authorities anticipate the couple could be extradited to South Africa as early as next month, pending the outcome of the appeal. Meanwhile, IOL previously reported that Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi expressed disappointment in Shivambu, emphasising that his actions could embolden Bushiri's defiance of South Africa's legal system. 'Mr Shivambu's actions erode public trust in the justice system and embolden those who believe they can escape accountability,' said Kubayi. 'No one, regardless of status or position, is above the law. Political leaders have a responsibility to uphold the rule of law, not fraternise with fugitives.' Bushiri says he prophesied Israel-Iran war
Self-proclaimed Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri has claimed to have prophesied the war between Iran and Israel five months before it happened. Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran, targeting its nuclear facilities and military infrastructure, citing concerns over Iran's nuclear programme. Iran responded by declaring a state of war and launching missile strikes against Israel. The attacks are continuing between the two countries, leaving hundreds dead. In a Facebook video dated January 1 this year, Bushiri told his congregation that he saw a conflict in Tehran, Iran's capital, and warned that it might lead to an escalation. 'I saw a conflict in Tehran,' he said. 'Tehran will be up in smoke. We have to pray against this conflict. It will lead into an escalation.' Bushiri has made several prophecies that he claims have come to pass, but his ministry has been met with criticism and scepticism. Despite that, he continues to host services in Malawi and maintains a big following.
