MAKKAH - Deputy Emir of Makkah Region and Vice Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah Prince Saud bin Mishaal chaired a meeting of the committee to discuss early preparations for the Hajj season of 2026. This is in line with the directives of Advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. Prince Saud conveyed Prince Khaled Al-Faisal's appreciation to committee members for their efforts during Hajj 1446 AH, which enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals in ease and comfort. He emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the positive outcomes of this year's Hajj and urged all stakeholders to intensify their efforts, enhance cooperation, and begin early planning to meet the aspirations of the leadership through further improving the pilgrimage experience. The committee reviewed key measures to develop the Hajj system further and deliver improved services to pilgrims in the upcoming season. The meeting also examined the operations during pilgrims' departure through various entry and exit points, as well as other items on the agenda. Saudi Arabia Declares Success of this Year's Hajj

Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal declared on Sunday the success of this year's Hajj, stressing Saudi Arabia's pride in serving the pilgrims. Preparations are underway to hold next year's Hajj, he added. He said this year's pilgrimage was a success on the security, health and services level, conveying his congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the achievement. He praised the performance of the operational plan that ensured the success of the Hajj and allowed the pilgrims to carry out the sacred rituals smoothly and at ease. Moreover, he extended congratulations to the members of the security, health and services sectors, as well as the volunteers, who 'worked tirelessly and with dedication to guarantee the success of the Hajj.' The pilgrims themselves were also 'partners in this success by respecting regulations and instructions,' he remarked. In Mina, the pilgrims in a hurry completed their final rituals before sunrise on Sunday by holding the farewell tawaf of the Kaaba and the symbolic stoning of the devil. The remaining pilgrims, who were not in a hurry, will depart on Monday. The Grand Mosque was at full capacity with 107,000 pilgrims per hour performing the tawaf. The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and relevant parties were ready to accommodate them in line with an integrated operational plan. They dedicated all means at their disposal to ensure the pilgrims performed the rituals smoothly and ensure the smooth flow of movement inside the mosque. At the Safa and Marwa ritual, capacity was at 118,000 pilgrims per hour. In the city of Madinah, pilgrims in a hurry arrived to visit the Masjid al-Nabawi where they prayed and later visited important Islamic sites in the city related to the Prophet Mohammed. Hajj and Umrah Ministry figures obtained from 62,000 field visits to the Hajj accommodations, camps and other areas revealed a 97 percent rate in respecting regulations, while the proper action was taken against violators.

The pilgrims traveled from the holy city of Makkah to Mina and later to Arafat smoothly and in line with operational plans, he stressed. Their transport was held in record time, he revealed, while the pilgrims enjoyed integrated services provided by all concerned sectors. Prince Saud added: 'God Almighty honored the Saudi leadership, government and people with hosting the holy sites and serving its visitors.' 'This is a major responsibility that obligates us to fulfill with dedication' to meet the aspirations of the visitors, he added. He highlighted the system of services that the Saudi government has provided to the pilgrims that has ensured that they carried out their rituals smoothly and safely. He also highlighted the financial and human resources that have been dedicated to organizing the Hajj. They have been backed by massive projects and plans that are being overseen by Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif so that the pilgrims can perform their rituals at ease. Prince Saud called on the pilgrims to respect regulations and instructions because 'your safety is our goal and serving you is our purpose.'

Saudi Water Authority Conducts 5,000 Inspections on Water Networks in Holy Sites, Makkah

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA), in collaboration with partners in the water sector, is conducting intensive inspection tours across the holy sites and Makkah to ensure the readiness and reliability of water supply systems for this year's Hajj. As the peak Hajj season approaches, the authority is intensifying its monitoring of 14 critical water service networks in Makkah and the holy sites, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday. These networks represent one of the world's most advanced and integrated water infrastructures, dedicated to serving pilgrims. They encompass potable water systems, sewage networks, cooling water, sprinkler systems, and firefighting infrastructure. Specialized teams continuously monitor these networks to maintain operational readiness, anticipate potential malfunctions, and promptly identify any technical issues or operational violations, enabling immediate corrective action. As part of an early monitoring strategy, approximately 5,000 inspection rounds have been carried out by 12 dedicated field teams, totaling over 2,000 hours of on-site work to date.

TAIF: Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif conveyed the greetings of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the citizens of Taif governorate. It came during his recent meeting with several citizens from the governorate, in the presence of Deputy Gov. of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz and Taif Gov. Prince Saud bin Nahar. Taif is fast becoming a major tourist hub in the Kingdom, with visitors arriving from around the world, including the Gulf, to enjoy its pristine environment and natural attractions during holiday celebrations. The region is home to spacious valleys and ample water courses.
