Death investigation opened after victim found unresponsive near street on North Side
Chicago police have opened a death investigation after a male victim was found unresponsive and lying in the street overnight in the Lakeview neighborhood, officials said. Shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a male victim was discovered lying in the street in the 3600 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating. There was no immediate information available about the victim's age and the circumstances leading up to him being found.

Chicago police seek driver in hit-and-run crash in Chatham neighborhood
Chicago police are searching for the driver who left a pedestrian hurt in a hit-and-run crash in the Chatham neighborhood Wednesday night. It happened just before 10 p.m. in the 700 block of East 79th Street. Police said the pedestrian was walking in the crosswalk on 79th Street and was hit by a 2019 Silver Chevrolet Malibu with Illinois license plate number DH27880. The vehicle then left the scene heading westbound on 79th Street toward Martin Luther King Dr. The vehicle was described as having tinted windows and possible damage to the front driver's side and windshield. Semi-trailer truck kills pedestrian on Lower West Side of Chicago
A semi-trailer truck struck and killed a pedestrian Friday afternoon on the Lower West Side in Chicago. Police said, shortly after 12:05 p.m., a 44-year-old man was crossing Ashland Avenue in the crosswalk near 21st Street, when he was struck by a semi headed south. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The CPD Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating.

Crash on Chicago's North Side leaves 3 hospitalized, police say
The Brief A car crash into a pole on Chicago's North Side sent three people to the hospital early Monday morning. The 56-year-old driver lost control of the Buick LaCrosse and hit the pole, police said. He and two other female passengers were hospitalized with injuries. CHICAGO - A crash on the city's North Side early Monday morning left three people in the hospital. The crash happened in the 4700 block of North Western Avenue in the Lincoln Square neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department. What we know A Buick LaCrosse, driven by a 56-year-old man, was traveling southbound on Western Avenue when he lost control and hit a pole, police said. The driver had unspecified injuries and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition. An adult female passenger, whose age was unknown, sustained head and chest injuries. She was taken to Illinois Masonic in critical condition. A second adult female passenger had minor injuries and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in fair condition. No other cars were involved, and no other injuries were reported. The Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the crash. What we don't know It was unclear exactly what led to the crash. Police also did not say if any charges were pending in connection with the crash.
