Everton join race for Mainz's Anthony Caci
TEAMtalk reports that Everton have joined the race to sign Mainz 05 wingback Anthony Caci. The Frenchman has previously been linked with Fulham and Leeds United. Entering the final year of his Bundesliga contract, Caci maintains a career high estimated market value of €12m. Whether Mainz remain amenable to selling Caci remains to be seen. The 27-year-old played an important role for Bo Henriksen's Rheinhessen this season, successfully filling in as a right wingback and even as central defender. Advertisement With 32-year-old captain Silvan Widmer not factoring into Henriksen's plans much anymore, the Mainzer head coach will have to decide whether 22-year-old Nicolas Veratschnig is prepared to fill Caci's position. Thus far in the summer transfer window, Mainz have signed another left back but made no direct efforts to find a replacement for Caci. The 2025/26 German Conference League representatives will wish to keep a deep squad. The fact that Mainz's total outlays this summer – thanks to the purchase of Benedict Hollerbach – leave the club approximately €8.5 in the red may nevertheless facilitate a sale. Melbourne Victory young gun Kasey Bos has sealed a transfer to German Bundesliga club Mainz 05, capping off his rapid rise. Bos, who received his first Socceroos call-up for games against Japan and Saudi Arabia, departs the Victory, who receive an undisclosed transfer fee, to sign with Mainz 05 on a four-year deal through to 2029. The 21-year-old left-back, younger brother of Socceroos and Westerlo defender Jordy, made just four appearances off the bench for the Victory in 2023-24 but exploded in the most recent A-League Men season. Bos scored four goals and notched two assists as he made 26 appearances, starting 24, including the Victory's grand final defeat to Melbourne City. "I've loved every minute I've played at Melbourne Victory," Bos said. "The club has helped shape my development and build the foundations necessary to take this next step overseas." Bos's season earned him an Olyroos call-up before his first senior camp under former Victory boss Tony Popovic. He will now attempt to kick on at Mainz, who finished sixth in the Bundesliga last season. Mainz sign Australian left back Kasey Bos
Mainz 05 have confirmed the signing of Australian left back Kasey Bos. The 21-year-old signed a four-year-deal with the Rheinhessen on Friday. Bos joins the Palatinate club from A-league club Melbourne Victory. A strong season – four goals and two assists in 26 league appearances – led to Bos earning a call up to the Australian national team for the current June World Cup qualifiers. Terms of the transfer were not divulged. Bos maintains a current €450,000 estimated market value. The younger brother of 19-times-capped Aussie international Jordan Bos, who plys his trade in nearby Belgium, pushes the number of Aussies in Germany's top footballing flight to three.
