207 catheterization and surgical procedures performed for Hajj pilgrims in Madinah
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Madinah Health Cluster revealed that it has performed 207 cardiac catheterization and surgical procedures for the Hajj pilgrims during the last 47 days since the beginning of the Hajj season. It stated that the number of visitors to health centers reached 37,46, while the number of emergency patients accounted for 16,059, ambulance services reached 2,289, and dialysis sessions stood at 120. The Cluster beefed up its operations in Madinah during the post Hajj season to receive pilgrims through 33 permanent and seasonal hospitals and health centers, in addition to mobile clinic vehicles. More than 21,000 health and technical personnel work around the clock to provide the highest levels of medical care. The Cluster launched a comprehensive multilingual awareness and educational campaign targeting pilgrims arriving in Madinah, with the aim of promoting health and preventative awareness in multiple languages. Awareness screens were activated at Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport and the Haramain High-Speed Railway Station, in addition to 109 screens within the Cluster's health facilities.

Swift medical response saves pilgrim in Madinah
MADINAH: A swift response from Saudi Arabia's urgent care system enabled medical teams at King Salman bin Abdulaziz Medical City in Madinah to save the life of an Iraqi female pilgrim suffering from a brain hemorrhage. According to the Madinah Health Cluster, clinical assessment and interventional radiology revealed a ruptured artery that required immediate intervention, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday. Once the patient was stabilized, a targeted procedure using coiling technology was performed. The interventional neuroradiology team sealed the rupture, preventing further complications, the SPA added. The Madinah Health Cluster said the pilgrim regained full consciousness with 'no neurological deficits' and has begun rehabilitation before returning home. The case 'highlights King Salman Medical City's capabilities as part of the Madinah Health Cluster and its readiness to provide specialized care for pilgrims,' the SPA wrote.

Saudi Gazette report MADINAH — The Madinah Health Cluster has allocated a dedicated dialysis section for pilgrims with kidney disease at the King Fahad Kidney Center (KFKC). This initiative aims to provide high-quality medical care that accommodates the pilgrims' schedules and movements, ensuring easy access to necessary treatment. It is part of the Kingdom's broader efforts to care for pilgrims by delivering integrated medical services which enable them to perform their rituals in good health. The dialysis section is outfitted with state-of-the-art medical technologies and includes 13 dialysis machines, capable of delivering over 26 sessions per day. A team of highly qualified medical professionals ensures the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and patient care. The Health Cluster conducted prior coordination with medical missions accompanying Hajj campaigns by receiving medical reports detailing each pilgrim's health condition. This allows dialysis sessions to be scheduled immediately upon the pilgrim's arrival in Madinah, helping to save time and minimize the burden of transportation.

Prophet's Mosque's AI-driven medical capsules enhance healthcare
RIYADH: The Madinah Health Cluster has launched two smart medical capsules in the northern central area of the Prophet's Mosque to enhance healthcare for visitors and pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday. The 'Tabah and Tibabah' capsules use advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to detect chronic diseases, conduct rapid tests, measure vital signs, and perform electrocardiograms. They are linked to the Seha Virtual Hospital for specialized support, according to the SPA. The capsules expand healthcare services, complementing existing facilities including the Al-Salam Endowment and Al-Haram hospitals. The capsules are operated during peak times by trained medical workers and serve over 576 patients daily. They reflect the collaboration between the government and private sector. Meanwhile, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams in Madinah transferred an emergency cardiac patient for treatment through their Cardiac Attacks pathway in 56 seconds. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani, director of the authority's regional branch, explained that the Medical Transfer Center received a call via the 997 hotline about a patient in his 60s experiencing severe chest pain at the Prophet's Mosque. An advanced care team that was dispatched performed an electrocardiogram and diagnosed an acute heart attack. This was communicated to the on-duty physician, who activated the Cardiac Attack pathway protocol. The patient was transported to the Hayat National Hospital's cardiac catheterization lab via a special route, where the medical team was ready for immediate intervention. Al-Zahrani said the rapid response and coordination by the emergency teams helped prevent complications and led to a successful outcome for the patient.

The Madinah Health Cluster is providing visitors of the Prophet's Mosque with a new emergency scooter service that offers quick medical assistance during Ramadan, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The scooters will facilitate movement of paramedics as thousands of worshippers are currently filling the mosque's courtyards. Emergency Scooters Therefore, the new service offers them a valuable opportunity to navigate busy areas, attend to urgent cases, as well as transfer patients to nearby hospitals and care centers if needed. Since its launch, the scooter initiative has served 91 people who were referred to healthcare facilities in the central area, such as Al-Shifa Health Endowment, Haram Emergency Hospital, and the Safiyyah and Bab Jibreel Urgent Care Centers. The initiative stands as a testament to the Madina Health Cluster's commitment to ensuring visitors' safety and wellbeing.
