One person allegedly assaulted by three men in Guelph
Guelph Police say a man was beaten up by three others after they were allegedly harassing his friend. Officers were called to Macdonell Street around 1:45 a.m. Friday. A man in his 20s told them three men he didn't know were harassing his female friend before he stepped in. The trio then turned on the man and allegedly began to punch and kick him. The three men were last seen leaving in a black pickup truck. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Woman assaulted after warning man not to step into downtown Guelph traffic
A Guelph man has been charged after police said he assaulted a woman who had been trying to help him. The Guelph Police Service said a man and woman were waiting to cross Macdonell Street around 3:40 p.m. when another man stepped out in front of traffic, prompting the woman to yell out a warning so he wouldn't get hit. The man turned, hit the woman with his shopping bag, and yelled at her. Some spittle also flew from his mouth and landed on her face. Police found the man nearby and arrested him. The 43-year-old was charged with assault and breaching a probation order.
