Kraft Heinz to rid all chemical dyes over next 2 years
NEW YORK, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Kraft Heinz, the food giant best known for its ketchup and boxed Mac & Cheese, said on Tuesday it would remove all chemical dyes from its products by the end of 2027. The company said the shift would affect only about 10 percent of its portfolio by sales. The New York Times quoted a spokeswoman as confirming that it would affect brands like Kool-Aid, Jell-O, Crystal Light and other beverages and desserts that contain dyes like Red No. 40 and Blue No. 1. Kraft Heinz is the first major food company to officially announce plans to stop using artificial colors. In April, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he had reached "an understanding" with food manufacturers to remove commonly used artificial food dyes from their products by 2026.

Greggs major store change as self-serve fridges removed
The popular bakery chain has revealed it has removed items, including sandwiches and bottled drinks, from its self-serve fridge section at least five locations as part of a recent trial. Customer favourites have now been moved behind the counter in shops that are 'exposed' to higher levels of anti-social behaviour. One affected location is Whitechapel, East London, where customers must now ask Greggs staff at the till for sandwiches and bottled drinks. It's also been reported other stores have been fitted with 'bank-style screens' at the counter or introduced full-time security guards, according to The Sun. A Greggs spokesperson said: 'This is one of a number of initiatives we are trialling across a handful of shops which are exposed to higher levels of anti-social behaviour. 'Customers can expect to see our full range of great value and tasty Greggs favourites available from behind the counter. The safety of our colleagues and customers remains our number one priority.' Meanwhile, earlier this month, Greggs unveiled its summer 2025 menu, with prices starting from just £1.55. The new additions include a Caramelised Biscuit Latte and a focaccia-style Chicken, Sweetcorn & Red Onion Pizza (available as a single slice, or in boxes of four or six to share with friends). Other Greggs summer menu items (including prices) are as follows: Recommended reading: Greggs to launch viral Mac & Cheese across UK this summer after successful trial Greggs' summer 2025 menu features new pizza slice and sandwich range from £1.55 Dad orders 'UK's biggest bacon sarnie' from Greggs - with 100 rashers in one bun In March this year, Greggs revealed a jump in sales and profits in 2024 as it launched new shops, extended its opening hours and raised prices. This was partly driven by the opening of about 225 new shops during the year, a record amount for the group.
