Weeks after the birth of baby Aria Capri, he humorously teased about having a fifth child with his wife Mariah Riddlesprigger. From Liam to Aria Capri the Antetokounmpo home is full of love and little feet Giannis and Mariah's family is already lively. They have two sons called Liam Charles, who was born in February 2020, and Maverick Shai, who was born in August 2021, and two daughters, Eva Brooke (September 2023) and their newborn, Aria Capri (May 2025). They got married last September in a small Greece wedding that just hit the right notes between major moments and a little emotional secrecy. When Giannis joked about baby #5 With fans, they knew he wasn't joking with the guys in the locker room, but it could be a natural progression of a family on its way to a dynasty. The Sports Report: Shohei Ohtani will pitch tonight against Padres
From Benjamin Royer: The long-anticipated wait is over — Shohei Ohtani is ready to pitch. The Dodgers announced after Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants that Ohtani will make his Dodgers pitching debut Monday against the San Diego Padres. He will start, but will begin his pitching return as an opener, likely throwing just an inning or two. 'It's very exciting,' said manager Dave Roberts, before the team revealed his Monday start. 'I think that for me, I'm still a baseball fan first. I really am. The anticipation here for the game is, man, it's going to be bananas when it happens. There's been a lot of anticipation. I think we've done it the right way as far as kind of our process.' For Ohtani, it's been a long road back to pitching. He signed with the Dodgers on a 10-year, $700-million contract before the 2024 season — a value representing not just his MVP-level bat, but his potential Cy Young Award-level pitching. He underwent Tommy John surgery in September 2023, only hitting in his first season with the Dodgers. He tallied unprecedented numbers at the plate (.310 batting average, league-high 54 home runs, 130 RBI and 59 stolen bases). In recent weeks, Ohtani ramped up his throwing program, facing live hitters a handful of times. Continue reading here ———— Fifteen minutes before first pitch on Sunday, Giants catcher Logan Porter trotted in from the visitor's bullpen. He'd usually be accompanied by the starting pitcher, which was set to be left-hander Kyle Harrison. Instead, Porter stood on the first-base line for the national anthem, turned to his left and whispered to his teammates. As they all received the information from Porter — reminiscent of the children's game 'Telephone' — other Giants teammates likely learned one-by-one that Harrison had been traded. 'It was crazy,' Dodgers second baseman Tommy Edman said. 'You don't expect a trade like that this time of year and just getting the pitching change at the last minute.' The odd scene at Dodger Stadium was because of a reported blockbuster trade that involved the Boston Red Sox sending infielder Rafael Devers to the Giants in exchange for Harrison, right-hander Jordan Hicks and two prospects — a move that further bolsters the talent in the L.A.-San Francisco rivalry. San Francisco manager Bob Melvin was forced to turn to long reliever Sean Hjelle, who rapidly warmed up for the start, against a Dodgers offense that had scored 11 runs Saturday night. It was more of the same from the Dodgers' offense in a 5-4 victory Sunday. The top of the order manufactured a run via an Andy Pages sacrifice fly in the first inning. Edman hit a solo home run — his 10th — in the second. Pages put a cherry on top in the fifth after Shohei Ohtani (three for three, one walk) and Mookie Betts set the table with singles. Shohei Ohtani ‘most likely' will make his Dodgers pitching debut this week
The long-anticipated wait appears to be nearly over — Shohei Ohtani likely will pitch this week. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced after Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants that Ohtani 'most likely' will make his Dodgers pitching debut this week against the San Diego Padres. He likely will be an opener, only pitching for one inning. 'I don't know which day he's going to open for us, but there's a high probability he's going to open for us in the coming days,' Roberts said. For Ohtani, it's been a long road back to pitching. Ohtani had been brilliant for the Angels, going 38-19 with a 3.01 earned-run average over 86 starts since coming over from Japan before the 2018 season. In 2022, Ohtani posted his best pitching numbers in the majors, with a 15-9 record, a 2.33 earned-run average and 219 strikeouts over 166 innings en route to placing fourth in AL Cy Young Award voting. It'll likely be an incremental start for Ohtani when he returns as he looks to add more pitches and innings in the weeks ahead. 'He's getting very eager, getting very excited,' Roberts said before Sunday's game. 'I think that there's a point where, in hearing from Shohei, that the effort that it takes to throw lives and things like that, [rather] than to play a game, then let's use those bullets in a game. He's getting very excited.' Now those proverbial 'bullets' will likely be used this week at Dodger Stadium.

Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors: No discussions for Bucks star (report)
As the NBA braces for what's expected to be a busy offseason, there is arguably no bigger name than Giannis Antetokounmpo. There's been plenty of speculation on if Antetokounmpo could end up on the trade market due to the Bucks' current roster situation. But ESPN's Brian Windhorst threw cold water on the trade rumors. There have already been reports that the Antetokounmpo market has cooled despite rumors, and that appears to be the case. Advertisement 'Right now, there is no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade market,' Windhorst said. 'There is no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade discussions. He has not asked for it. The Bucks are not looking to trade him.' Antetokounmpo, 30, is at the height of his powers and put together another stellar season in Milwaukee, finishing third in MVP voting. But the Bucks' roster construction has been a mess recently, plus Damian Lillard's ruptured Achilles tendon added to the franchise's uncertainty. While the Bucks won the 2021 NBA Finals with Antetokounmpo as the NBA Finals MVP, they haven't made it past the second round since then. They've lost in the first round in the past three seasons and the roster doesn't look ready to compete even with Antetokounmpo putting up MVP-level numbers. That's where all the trade speculation has come throughout the summer with multiple teams interested in the two-time MVP's services. Naturally, Antetokounmpo would lead to a haul of assets between draft picks and talented players. But it doesn't sound like the Bucks are making him available in trade talks based on the reporting. Advertisement Antetokounmpo has voiced how much he enjoys playing in Milwaukee, plus he did bring the franchise its first title since 1971. For now, it's looking like the Bucks will keep their homegrown star while reloading their roster. More Celtics content Read the original article on MassLive.

'F**k that' — Draymond Green tells Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to block out NBA Finals noise
(Image Source - Getty Images) When the heat is on during the biggest moments, some players freeze up. But not Draymond Green. After Game 3, where the Indiana Pacers unexpectedly led 2–1, the four-time NBA champ had a straightforward message for Thunder MVP Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander — 'F**k that. Shoot it 35 times.' Green's message? Don't pay attention to the critics analyzing his shot count or foul calls – this is the time to step up, take charge, and guide Oklahoma City back into the series. Draymond Green insists MVP-level aggression is what will define the Finals After losing 116-107 in Game 3 and finding themselves behind 2-1 in the series against the Pacers, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a rough outing, scoring merely 24 points and attempting just three shots in the fourth quarter, making only one. Green shared a candid take on his podcast with Baron Davis and Metta World Peace. — "When I watched that game tonight, I never felt like Shai said, 'I'm taking over this game. I'mma win this game. ''. The experienced power forward emphasized that SGA shouldn't allow media talk about "shooting too much" or "foul-baiting" to influence his game plan. 'Don't fall into the trap of what the world is saying… F**k that. Yeah, shoot it 35 times. You gotta go for it!' Green shouted, pushing Shai to get back that confidence he had in his earlier games, especially the 34 points and 8 assists he scored in just 36 minutes during Game 2. Draymond & Metta tell Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: 'SHOOT 35 TIMES' in Thunder-Pacers NBA Finals In his postgame talk, Gilgeous-Alexander admitted the team had its issues, noting how Indiana's physical play and strong pick-and-roll game messed with OKC's rhythm. He only scored 3 points in the fourth quarter, despite coming in with a mindset to keep the game close. Still, Green was there to remind him of his MVP credentials—leading the league with 32.7 PPG in 2024–25, outpacing big names like Curry and Giannis, and highlighting why the Thunder need him to step up as a leader. The Thunder, coming off a franchise-best 68-win season and breaking their previous single-season record of 61 wins, are turning to their star once more. Shai has already scored 38 points in Game 1 and 34 in Game 2 of the Finals, establishing a Finals debut record of 72 points in his first two games. Now, with everything at stake, Green's message is straightforward: take on the responsibility, prove the naysayers wrong, and unleash that MVP-level performance. As the series tilts towards the Pacers, the Thunder are counting on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to get back to his bold and fearless style of play. Draymond Green's no-nonsense advice to tune out the media, take your chances, and seize control resonates throughout Oklahoma City. Also Read: 'Your Spit Should Taste Different' — Tyrese Haliburton jokes as he describes the intensity of playing in the NBA finals If SGA can lead with confidence and intensity, OKC still has a genuine chance at clinching their first Finals title. Now's the moment to rise to the occasion, ignore the distractions, and let the MVP shine like an MVP should.
