Read Between the Lines: 5 Ways to Style the Striped Polo

Riffed off, deconstructed, or replicated to a tee, preppy style has provided fashion houses and labels plenty of source material to work off of in recent years, filtering it through their own lens. Last spring, two mainstays of the look, namely boat shoes and pleated skirts, showed up on the Loewe and Miu Miu runways with a twist—super short, in luxe leather, and styled in fresh, irreverent ways. The striped polo, too, has gotten the designer treatment. Most recently, the sporty staple appeared (and reappeared) in Chanel's resort 2026 collection in unexpected pairings that were anything but prim. Vogue's Favorite Striped Polos: Surprisingly, the striped polo is shaping up to be one of the most versatile pieces of the season. Its clean lines and graphic punch make it easy to style in ways that feel fun without veering too preppy. Pair it with minimalist essentials like a sleek maxi skirt and flip-flops for a modern approach, or give it in a more directional tone by contrasting it with sparkling statement pieces (another key summer trend) for a high-low mix that toes the line between playful and elevated. This isn't your dad's striped polo (and even further away from the one you might find in Lisa Birnbach's The Official Preppy Handbook)—it's the kind of evergreen style that can anchor a thoughtfully-layered summer wardrobe. Here's how were interpreting it for the season. Earn Your Stripes A striped polo and striped board shorts work together to create a cool, off-duty summer look. Ballet flats and a straw tote add a prim touch for a balanced finish. Opposites Attract Here, a boxy striped polo contrasts with Tory Burch's mirrored skirt for an irreverent juxtaposition of casual and statement pieces. Fine Lines Miu Miu's oversized striped polo works well with slim capri pants, clean flats, and a subtle statement summer bag. Solids and Stripes A slouchy polo paired with a maxi skirt and red mesh flats creates a relaxed, elevated silhouette for summer. The Parting Line A striped polo with white trousers and flip flops is a straightforward, timeless look, ideal for hot summer days. Shop more striped polos:

Quietly luxe and seasonally right, sumptuous suede bags are having a moment on and off the runways. From Bottega's slouchy shoulder styles to Chloé's boho-western revival, Spring/Summer 2025 proved one thing: suede is no longer reserved for your autumn archive. It's tactile, tonal, and surprisingly versatile—especially when softened into softly structured totes, buttery mini bags, and drawstring slings. While designer labels made a strong case for suede's elevated appeal (see Loewe's earthy Puzzle iterations), it's the high street that's translated the look with equal flair and without the four-figure price tag. Massimo Dutti's ruched bag, Zara's sand-toned bucket, and Mango's pared-back crossbody in mocha brown offer that same tactile richness with a minimalist lens. With its plush nap and lived-in feel, suede strikes a balance between Y2k nostalgia and newness, and anchors the quiet luxury aesthetic without the heavy logos. How to wear suede for summer? Offset its texture heaviness with lightweight fabrications – think linen co-ords, crochet dresses, or breezy tunics for the day. Come nighttime, contrast textures: a strappy silk slip or a semi-sheer maxi feels instantly cooler with a buttery suede clutch tucked in the crook of your arm. Colour-wise, lean into summer-friendly tones such as buttermilk, terracotta, clay, or a dusty green. These shades not only wear beautifully under the sun but transition effortlessly into early fall. Whether you're drawn to bohemian touches, clean Scandinavian lines, or a hint of equestrian flair, the high street's suede bag edit delivers. Consider it your soft-power move for the season—and beyond. The winter accessory of 2025 that can cost $30 – or $37,000

When once-daggy ties escaped the fashion mausoleum earlier this year to become style statements around the necks of Nicole Kidman and Rihanna, the door was left ajar for another endangered accessory to escape. Belts, narrow and wide, slipped through the cracks to be resurrected on the runway, in fashion shoots and across countless winter coats. Celebrities such as Sirens actor Milly Alcock, actor Jacob Elordi, musician Doechii and supermodel Bella Hadid buckled up following belt-laden collections from Loewe, Miu Miu, Chloe, Zimmermann and Schiaparelli. 'Belts used to be a bit of an afterthought … something you'd grab just to hold your trousers up,' says menswear designer Christian Kimber, who has belts scattered across his latest advertising campaign. 'A good belt can really pull everything together. It's become more of a character in a story than just a background prop.' After being relegated to fashion purgatory for decades – because magazine and celebrity stylists were fearful of breaking up the line of a silhouette with a horizontal belt – the accessory's revival can be traced to a perfect storm of events. The return of high-waisted pants, the popularity of weight loss drugs encouraging shrinking members of the fashion community to extend the lifespan of expensive pants purchased pre-injection, and the cost of living crisis have all driven the belt's stock higher. 'People are dressing with more intent these days,' Kimber says. 'They're buying less, but buying better. A belt's one of those things that lasts forever if you get it right, so I think it's become more of a conscious purchase.' Buying less doesn't mean paying less. A fringed leather belt from celebrity favourite label Alaïa, worn by Kendall Jenner and Miley Cyrus, costs $6810. Luxury marketplace 1stDibs currently has three vintage Chanel belts for more than $US24,000 ($37,016).

The Best Kitschy, Food-Themed Phone Cases for Food-Lovers

I always believe in the serotonin-boosting power of trinkets and tchotchkes, but especially when they're functional. That's what I'm so enamored by the influx of personality-forward, food-themed phone cases in recent years; for one, you take your phone with you everywhere, so your happy emotional returns on the case are seemingly never-ending. I also can't think of an iPhone that wouldn't be improved by transforming into buttered toast: Smartphone embellishments are nothing new; for as long as cell phones have existed, they have been dripping in charms and custom cases (see: this subreddit dedicated to Paris Hilton's past cell phones). But we have come a long way from basic 2010s Popsocketry, and steered into trompe l'oeil territory with food-themed smartphone cases. The influx of tinned fish and baguette cases is partially a trickle-down effect from high fashion brands such as Loewe and Puppets & Puppets, which have been serving up elaborate, seemingly edible fashions as the virality of food and restaurant culture has become increasingly lucrative. Admittedly, what's not to love about the way the Chicken Shop Date smartphone case can nestle a single chicken nugget? Below, I have selected some of the most appetite-whetting, food-themed smartphone cases and accessories, from the kitsch and kawaii to the hyper-realistic. Just don't be surprised if someone tries to bite into one at brunch. This and some crusty batard? Say less. This sunny side up grip accessory has a one-month wait list, but it's worth the cooking time. Each level of my ideal fantasy food pyramid is represented on this food case: croissant, jam, cake, and Evian water. The attention to detail is so impressive on this hand-made smartphone case, from the lattice work to the golden-brown crust coloring. Here's an idea: Give this hot dog-themed case to a friend, and then smother it in onions while yelling, 'Chicago-style!' First, find your ideal farmers market tote bag. Then, use this farmers market haul graphic case as a visual summer market checklist (tomatoes, strawberries, cherries, and more). You can customize the color of this tomato-themed case, but we're fans of the vine-ripe green. See More: Add to Cart Buy This Thing Shopping and Pantry Guides
