2 Outstanding Stocks Under $50 to Buy and Hold Now

Not all great growth stocks come with a sky-high price tag. In fact, some of the most promising companies in today's market are trading for less than $50 per share, demonstrating that investors don't have to break the bank to accumulate long-term wealth. The two stocks on this list have strong fundamentals, attractive valuations, and compelling growth prospects, making them ideal for a buy-and-hold strategy. Let's take a look at two standout picks that provide significant upside potential without a hefty price. 'It Has No Utility': Warren Buffett Doesn't Care How High Gold Goes, He Isn't a Buyer OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Says 'We Are Heading Towards a World Where AI Will Just Have Unbelievable Context on Your Life' Archer Aviation Is Betting Big on Its Fledgling Defense Business. Does That Make ACHR Stock a Buy Here? Markets move fast. Keep up by reading our FREE midday Barchart Brief newsletter for exclusive charts, analysis, and headlines. Valued at a market capitalization of $3.5 billion, Semtech (SMTC) is a chipmaker and connectivity innovator specializing in analog/mixed-signal semiconductors and IoT systems, particularly its LoRa technology. Semtech reported strong first-quarter fiscal year 2026 results, signaling a turning point in the company's post-pandemic transformation. However, SMTC stock is down 32% year-to-date, indicating that now may be a good time to buy shares on the dip. During the Q1 earnings call, CEO Hong Hou emphasized the company's adaptability and resilience in the face of geopolitical uncertainties such as U.S.-China trade tensions and supply-chain volatility. Total revenue for the quarter increased 22% year on year to $251.1 million. Adjusted earnings per share increased to $0.38 as well, up from $0.06 in the prior year quarter. Semtech's infrastructure business outperformed expectations with record revenue of $51.6 million, up 143% year on year. This growth was driven by rising demand for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads and next-generation compute clusters. Notably, CopperEdge, a disruptive active copper cable (ACC) technology designed for AI data centers, contributed to this expansion. Management stated that CopperEdge's production ramp is expected to begin in the latter half of fiscal 2026, positioning it as a significant revenue contributor by year-end. In the firm's Industrial segment, IoT hardware and LoRa drove revenue growth of 24%. LoRa-enabled revenue reached $38.9 million (up 81% year on year), reflecting strong demand from new verticals such as healthcare, wearables, and robotics. The company generated $26.2 million in free cash flow, allowing it to pay down debt by $10 million in the first quarter and an additional $15 million in the second quarter to date. Semtech is developing a multi-pronged growth engine with a strengthened infrastructure pipeline, IoT platforms designed for scale, and an increasing presence in AI-enabling technologies. Analysts predict that Semtech's earnings will rise by 88.6% in fiscal 2026, followed by an additional 29.5% the following fiscal year. Semtech, trading at 24x forward earnings, is a reasonable AI-led growth stock to buy right now. On Wall Street, Semtech stock remains a 'Strong Buy.' Out of the 14 analysts who cover SMTC stock, 10 rate it a 'Strong Buy,' one calls it a 'Moderate Buy," and three suggest a 'Hold" rating. Based on the mean price target of $56.33, Semtech stock has upside potential of 34% from current levels. Plus, the high target price of $68 suggests that shares could rally as much as 62% over the next 12 months. The second stock on this list is Toast (TOST), a cloud-focused tech company that offers an end-to-end platform combining software, hardware, and financial services to help restaurants run more efficiently. Toast stock, valued at $21.1 billion, is up 16.8% year to date, outperforming the 1.9% gain in the broader market. However, the stock is trading 6.5% below its 52-week high, making it an excellent time to buy on a dip. Currently, Toast has 140,000 locations on the platform (up 25% year on year), with an additional 6,000 added in the first quarter of 2025. Annual recurring revenue increased 31% YOY to $1.7 billion. Recurring revenue and rapid customer acquisition lay a solid foundation for long-term growth. Toast is transitioning from investment-driven growth to consistent profitability, which is an ideal scenario for long-term investors. In Q1, GAAP net income stood at $56 million versus a GAAP net loss of $83 million in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted EBITDA climbed from $57 million in the prior-year quarter to $133 million. Free cash flow improved dramatically as well, from -$33 million to $69 million. The company ended the quarter with a healthy balance sheet, sporting no debt and a cash balance of $1 million. Analysts predict that revenue will grow by 20% to 21% per year over the next two years. Earnings could increase by 70% in 2025, then by 31% the following year. TOST stock appears to be overpriced at 46x forward earnings, but this reflects investors' confidence in the company's future growth prospects. Toast integrates seamlessly with restaurant operations, including point-of-sale (POS) and kitchen management, payroll, inventory, loyalty, and analytics. In the POS systems market alone, the company has a 24.4% market share. Priced under $50 per share and combining accelerating recurring revenue, profitability, solid fundamentals, and a long-term business moat, TOST stock is a strong candidate for a buy-and-hold investment strategy. Overall, Wall Street rates Toast stock as a 'Moderate Buy.' Out of the 29 analysts who cover the stock, 13 have given it a 'Strong Buy' rating while one analysts says it is a 'Moderate Buy" and 15 suggest a 'Hold" rating. Based on the mean target price of $44.04, Toast stock has upside potential of 3.6% from current levels. However, the high target price of $52 suggests that the stock could rise more than 22% over the next 12 months. "We're seeing growing demand in LATAM for tracking solutions that go beyond what cellular can offer. In Brazil, it is already a reality since long time," said Marcelo Orsi, Sales Director for the LATAM region at Queclink. "With LoRa-based communication, strong resistance to jamming, and long standby time, the GL52RP is purpose-built for local security and compliance needs." In addition to its connectivity, the GL52RP features a high-sensitivity GNSS module and a built-in motion sensor for accurate location reporting and movement alerts. It's intelligent power management allows it to operate for several years in low-reporting modes, making it ideal for long-term, low-maintenance deployments. The device also supports various working modes—continuous, scheduled, and sleep—to give users more control over data use and energy consumption. The launch of the GL52RP marks Queclink's continued investment in LPWA innovation, providing businesses with practical, future-ready solutions for asset protection. Certified in key global regions, including Anatel approval for Brazil, the GL52RP supports major LoRaWAN frequency bands, ensuring seamless deployment across Latin America, Europe, and North America. The GL52RP is making its official debut at Exposec in São Paulo and also will be showcased at upcoming IoT events in the U.S. And Europe. ‘Justice Is Served': Indian Army Videos Show Terror Camps Destroyed In PoK, Pakistan

Last Updated: These sites highlight the systematic infrastructure that supports cross-border terrorism, involving hundreds of trained militants under senior leadership The Indian Army on Wednesday released videos of Operation Sindoor, the country's pre-dawn strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK that were used by groups like the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, revealing the precision strikes by the forces. Soon after the strikes, the official handle of the Indian Army shared a poster of Operation Sindoor, with the message 'Justice is Served'. Pakistan hosts several key terror facilities operated by groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), which are actively used for recruitment, training, and infiltration into India. JeM's Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, which was targeted, was its operational headquarters and linked to attacks like Pulwama. LeT's Markaz Taiba in Muridke has trained perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Other significant launch pads include facilities in Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Sialkot, often run from government buildings and aided by Pakistan's ISI and military. These camps provide arms training, religious indoctrination, and support infiltration via tunnels and drones, while locations like Shawai Nallah and Markaz Syedna Bilal serve as major transit and operational bases for attacks in Jammu & Kashmir. Collectively, these sites highlight the systematic infrastructure that supports cross-border terrorism, involving hundreds of trained militants under senior leadership, posing a persistent threat to regional security and stability. Numerous training camps (Markaz), Detachments (Detts.), and launch pads are strategically located near military areas, Basic Health Units (BHUs), and Primary Health Centers (PHCs), providing cover for terrorist activities. Notable sites such as Sarjal–Tehra Kalan (JeM) and Mehmoona Joya–Sialkot (HM) are embedded within health facilities, enabling covert operations. These groups are equipped with advanced military-grade communication systems, including LoRa, Ultra Sets, and Digital Mobile Radios (DMR), to evade technical surveillance. Additionally, the Pakistan military supports these operations by enhancing Pak-TSP signal strength across the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC), facilitating communications with infiltrated operatives. #OperationSindoor | Indian Army releases videos of Indian strikes on Pakistani terror camps. Nine terrorist camps were targeted and successfully destroyed.(Videos Source: Indian Army) — ANI (@ANI) May 7, 2025 For example, the Sarjal–Tehra Kalan detachment houses a high-frequency (HF) communication setup, enabling secure planning and coordination between handlers and terrorists active within Indian territory. Terror Camps 1. Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur: Markaz Subhan Allah, operational since 2015, is the main centre of JeM for training and indoctrination and serves as its operational headquarters. It is associated with terrorist planning by JeM, including the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019. The Markaz houses the residences of JeM Chief Maulana Masood Azhar, de-facto Chief Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar, Maulana Ammar, and other family members. 2. Markaz Taiba, Muridke: Established in 2000, Markaz Taiba is the main training centre of LeT, located in Nangal Sahdan, Muridke, Sheikhupura, Punjab, Pakistan. The complex includes arms and physical training facilities, along with religious indoctrination for recruits from Pakistan and abroad. It serves as a key radicalisation hub, enrolling around 1000 students annually. Osama Bin Laden reportedly financed Rs 10 million for a mosque and guest house within the complex. At the behest of Pakistan's ISI, 26/11 Mumbai attack perpetrators, including Ajmal Kasab, received training here. Conspirators David Headley and Tahawwur Rana also visited the site under Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi's instructions. 3. Sarjal/Tehra Kalan: Located in Shakargarh Tehsil of Narowal District, Punjab, Pakistan, this JeM facility is the main launching base for terrorist infiltration into J&K. Operated from a Primary Health Center building in Tehra Kalan village, it is strategically placed just 6 km from the international border in Samba sector. It supports tunnel digging for cross-border infiltration and drone launches to drop arms and narcotics. 4. Mehmoona Joya Facility, Sialkot: This Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) facility, situated inside the Bhutta Kotli Govt. Basic Health Unit in Head Marala area, is used for infiltration into Jammu region. Senior HM commanders train cadres in weapons handling and terrorist operations here. Commander Mohd. Irfan Khan @ Irfan Tanda, involved in several attacks in Jammu, oversees the facility where 20–25 terrorists are typically stationed at any given time. 5. Markaz Ahle Hadith Barnala, Bhimber: Located on the outskirts of Barnala town on Kote Jamel road, this LeT facility in PoJK facilitates infiltration into the Poonch–Rajauri–Reasi sector. It functions as a staging area for up to 150 cadres. 6. Markaz Abbas, Kotli: Also known as Markaz Saidna Hazrat Abbas Bin Abdul Mutalib, this JeM centre in Kotli is led by Hafiz Abdul Shakoor @ Qari Zarrar, a key JeM planner wanted by India's NIA. It can accommodate 100–125 cadres and is a key planning base for operations in the Poonch–Rajouri region. 7. Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli: This is one of HM's oldest facilities in Kotli District, PoJK. It can house 150–200 terrorists and provides both arms and specialised training in sniper tactics, high-altitude warfare, and survival. 8. Shawai Nallah Camp, Muzaffarabad: Also known as Bait-ul-Mujahideen, this major LeT facility is situated near the Chelabandi bridge on Muzaffarabad-Neelum Road. It has operated since the early 2000s and was one of the training sites for 26/11 attackers. The camp offers a wide range of training, from religious indoctrination to tactical and weapons training, often with the help of Pakistani military trainers. It can accommodate up to 250 cadres and serves as a staging ground for infiltration into North Kashmir. 9. Markaz Syedna Bilal: Located opposite Red Fort in Muzaffarabad, PoJK, this JeM facility acts as a transit camp for terrorists being launched into J&K. It houses 50–100 cadres and is run by Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri. Indian fugitive Aashiq Nengroo and others operate from here, with SSG commandos from the Pakistani Army assisting in training.
