Caitlin Clark Sends Clear Message to Lexie Hull in New Post on Wednesday

Caitlin Clark Sends Clear Message to Lexie Hull in New Post on Wednesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. While much of the spotlight on the Indiana Fever centers around superstar Caitlin Clark, several other players have been stepping up in big ways. Indiana enters its upcoming road trip, starting Thursday against the Golden State Valkyries, riding a two-game win streak. Advertisement One of the more under-the-radar contributors has been Lexie Hull. In Tuesday's 88-71 win over the Connecticut Sun, Hull scored eight points, grabbed three rebounds and posted an impressive +29 plus-minus in her 31 minutes on the floor. Hull, who continues to grow in popularity with teammates and fans, shared her latest tunnel walk outfit, a trend that's gaining traction in the WNBA: 'Successful business trip ✔️ Shoutout @athleta x @azsn_studio for styling me for a tunnel look this season. Athleta's Apero Mesh Tank & Transcend Scoop Bra paired perfectly with this skirt set from @ It's giving corporate 🔥' What caught many eyes wasn't just the look, but Caitlin Clark's reaction. Clark chimed in with a simple, enthusiastic reply: Advertisement 'Love love love.' Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) © Grace Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Hull has been with the Fever since being selected sixth overall in the 2022 WNBA draft after a standout career with the Stanford Cardinal. She played a key role this offseason in the Unrivaled league, where she helped her team capture the championship. So far this season, the 25-year-old is averaging 9.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. She was especially effective in Saturday's win over New York, scoring 14 points in 34 minutes. The Fever now prepare for a stretch of three straight road games: Thursday at Golden State, Sunday at the Las Vegas Aces and Tuesday at the Seattle Storm. They return home on June 26. Caitlin Clark Hypes Fever's Lexie Hull for Major WNBA Award

Caitlin Clark Hypes Fever's Lexie Hull for Major WNBA Award originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Over the past season, the Fever have made it clear that they intend to vault from an also-ran with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA in back-to-back years to a franchise that is pointed directly at a league championship. Certainly, adding a star like Caitlin Clark to the mix goes a long way toward that goal. Advertisement But having the right role players, too, has been a key in how this team has been reconstructed. And one of those role players formed a tight bond with Clark almost immediately in Indiana last year: Lexie Hull. On Thursday, ahead of Indiana's showdown in San Francisco against the expansion Valkyries, Clark was asked about Hull, who was a standout at nearby Stanford before going to the Fever with the No. 6 overall pick in 2022. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) and Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull (10)© Grace Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images "The game is different when Lexie is on the floor," Clark said. "Her energy, her tenacitythe way she affects the game--whether she's scoring or she's not, she's our best defensive player, I think she is one of the best defensive players in the league. She's active, she's aggressive and also she shoots the ball really well. She's made a lot of 3s for us, she's shooting at close to 60% which is really unheard of in all of basketball, you just don't see that. Advertisement "So, I am just really proud of her, she always just puts her head down and keeps working. In my eyes, she is probably the top player in this league for Most Improved. I think she has improved in almost every statistical category. I am really happy for her and lucky to have a teammate like her, honestly." Hull has improved, no doubt. She is playing more--30.3 minutes per game--and is averaging career highs with 9.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals. Hull is shooting 48.8% from the field and, incredibly, 56.7% from the 3-point line. Hull has a whopping plus-34.7-point on/off rating, too, according to as the team is 18.3 points better offensively when she is playing and the opponent is 16.4 points worse. That leads the Fever, by far. (Clark, at plus-15.0, is No. 2 among the regulars.) This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 20, 2025, where it first appeared.

Indiana Fever React to Caitlin Clark's Outfit for Valkyries Game

Indiana Fever React to Caitlin Clark's Outfit for Valkyries Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It isn't just the Indiana Fever who are in action on Thursday night. A few hours before the Fever's game against the Golden State Valkyries tip-off, Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder will also be played from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Advertisement Clark has been an avid supporter of the Pacers throughout their incredible postseason run, which is why it's quite ironic that she won't be able to attend the team's final home game of the season on Thursday night. Clark has her own obligations, though, and the fact that the Fever are playing on the same night as the Pacers only means that the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year will miss Game 6. Caitlin Clark attends Game 3 of the 2025 NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Terada-Imagn Images The WNBA All-Star guard, however, made sure to rep the Pacers with her pregame outfit for their matchup against the Valkyries. The Fever took to Instagram to share a photo of Clark and teammate Lexie Hull donning Pacers jackets on Thursday night. Advertisement "Caitlin Clark & Lexie Hull reppin' the @pacers for Game 6 of the @nba Finals ahead of tonight's matchup against the Valkyries 🔥💙" the team posted on Instagram. View the original article to see embedded media. It is worth noting that the Pacers have a near-perfect record with Clark attending games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They've gone 8-1 in the playoffs with the former Iowa star in the building, but they will be without their lucky charm on Thursday. Down 3-2 in the series, the Pacers have to win Game 6 to force a winner-take-all Game 7 and keep their championship hopes alive. Clark will certainly be keeping an eye on that pivotal matchup right before she takes the court to try and lead the Fever to their third straight victory. Fans spot yet another gruesome foul on Caitlin Clark as WNBA scandal threatens to spiral out of control

Amidst the aftermath of the brutal fouls committed by both teams in Tuesday night's Indiana Fever-Connecticut Sun game, fans believe that they have uncovered another 'foul' that Caitlin Clark was on the receiving end of. In the third quarter of the game, Clark was driving to the lane when she took an unlucky foul from Sun guard Jacy Sheldon as she made a wild attempt to poke the ball free, inadvertently poking Clark in the eye. As the two teams came together, with Clark falling to the ground off what appeared to be a push from Connecticut's Marina Mabrey, Fever guard Lexie Hull ran over and got in the face of Sheldon. The two got into a brief, but heated, exchange of words in that moment before being separated. Clark and Sun center Tina Charles were assessed double technical fouls while Mabrey also got a technical. Later in the game, with Sheldon coming away with the steal in the final minute, Fever guard Sophie Cunningham committed a blatant and hard foul of her own - wrapping her arms around Sheldon's head and pulling her by her neck to the ground. Another larger scuffle ensued, with Connecticut's Lindsay Allen running over to defend her teammate and Sheldon popping straight up to shove Cunningham. Tensions took a while to die down and at the end of it, Cunningham, Sheldon, and Allen were all ejected. Tuesday's brutal game between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun saw multiple fouls after Sun guard Jacy Sheldon (4, right) inadvertently poked Caitlin Clark (second left) in the eye Sheldon was then fouled hard by Sophie Cunningham (facing camera) late in the game Now, fans believe Sheldon should've been called for a foul on this play for 'digging her nails' The day after the game, the WNBA announced that they would be fining both Mabrey and Cunningham - with Mabrey's initial technical foul upgraded to a flagrant 2. But in the aftermath of those fines, some social media detectives believe they uncovered evidence of Sheldon digging her nails into Clark's arm while playing defense. A close up image shows Sheldon's left hand on Clark's right arm with her fingers appearing to be curled. While some believe this is evidence of the Ohio State product trying to hurt Clark there isn't any expression of pain on the Fever guard's face. Moreover, on a wider shot, it shows that Sheldon's hand was on Clark as she anticipated a pick-and-roll. In reality, keeping an arm on a player with the ball is incredibly common in on-ball defense in the WNBA and the NBA and this likely wouldn't be called a foul by any referees. Regardless, Fever fans called for Sheldon to receive some sort of punishment for these actions. 'This is how Jacy of the @ConnecticutSun plays. Jacy digging her fingernails into Caitlin Clark's arm. And Marina Mabrey should have been ejected. @WNBA,' wrote one user on X. Another remarked, 'Jacy is always digging her nails!!!' while tagging WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert. The Sun and Fever next meet on July 15 at TD Garden in Boston.
