Lewis Capaldi backed to front Glastonbury secret set amid rumours of his return to music
Glastonbury Festival kicks off next week and fans believe Lewis Capaldi will be the surprise act in the TBA slot. Glastonbury 2025 is now just mere days away with the iconic musical festival at Worthy Farm in Pilton set to kick off on Wednesday June 25. However, most fans will most be looking forward to the weekend as headliners the 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and Neil Young all take to the Pyramid Stage while Rod Stewart will be playing the coveted Legends Slot on the Sunday. With just days left to go, fans are eagerly waiting in anticipation to discover which music stars will play the TBA (To be Announced) sets next weekend with a new survey from Spin Genie revealing the acts Brits are backing to see take the stage. Among them is the beloved Lewis Capaldi, who is one of the top tipped names. The 28-year-old has been taking a break from the limelight after his 2023 Glastonbury performance which saw the Scots singer heavily relying on fans to finish his set for him as he was seen visibly struggling with his Tourette's Syndrome. However, Lewis is not the number one favourite on the list, with the survey revealing there is one other major pop star that fans are rooting to see perform. The runaway favourite is currently Lady Gaga, following her record breaking performance on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last month where she played to an estimated 2.5M people for free. The Bad Romance hitmaker stormed to the top spot with 27 per cent of the votes from respondents. However, there were some other unexpected names thrown into the mix. Other mentioned stars include the Killers with 12 per cent of votes and Pulp at 10 percent while Chappell Roan was backed by 7 percent of votes. The most shocking result of all was undoubtedly actor Timothée Chalamet who received 4% of the vote. The American star who recently played the leading role of Bob Dylan in his biopic 'A Complete Unknown' appears to have impressed fans with his singing talents as they are holding out for a surprise Dylan medley from the Hollywood icon at the festival. Here are the full results of the survey below. Survey results: Who do you think will play a secret set at Glastonbury this year? Lady Gaga - 27% Lewis Capaldi - 22% The Killers - 12% Pulp - 10% Kings of Leon - 10% Chappell Roan - 7% Timothée Chalamet - 4% Troye Sivan - 3% Haim - 3% The XX - 2% Speculation that Capaldi could be the surprise act for this year comes amid Rod Stewart's announcement he will be bringing three secret guests on stage with him. The singer has been laying low for a few years after cancelling all of his 2023 tour dates to focus on his health. However, there are rumours he is making a slow return back to music. Just last month he delighted fans by making a surprise appearance at Tom Walker's gig at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh in honour of a leading mental health charity. Capaldi performed six songs, including 2019 hit Someone You Loved, in aid of the Campaign Against Living Miserably (Calm), a mental health charity he has previously raised funds for. Could Lewis be back for Glastonbury round two? Fans will need to wait and see until next weekend.

Rod Stewart launches blistering attack against former pal Donald Trump
Sir Rod Stewart has never shied away from sharing what's really on his mind, and now his former pal and neighbour, none other than President Donald Trump, has come under fire Sir Rod Stewart has furiously hit out at his former friend and neighbour, President Donald Trump – and he didn't hold back. The legendary rockstar who is currently preparing to play the iconic Legends Slot at Glastonbury Festival this month had previously partied with the reality star turned President, but he's no longer on his Christmas card list. Rod, 80, has a home neighbouring Trump's estate in Florida, and would often attend events held by Donald and his wife, Melania, but nowadays, it's safe to say that they're no longer on speaking terms. In a new interview, the Maggie May singer said that their estates are less than a mile apart, but he's "not a great fan" of the controversial President. While there are aspects of Trump that Rod liked, there are a few things that have angered him over the years, including his presidency. "I'm not a great fan of Trump. I knew him very, very well. I used to go to his house," Sir Rod said. He went on to add: "I live literally half a mile away." Speaking to Radio Times, he continued: "We're both on the beach. I used to go to his Christmas parties. He's always been a bit of a man's man. I liked him for that. But he didn't, as far as I'm concerned, treat women very well." However, Sir Rod believes that since becoming President, Trump has completely changed. "He became another guy. Somebody I didn't know," he stated. But could he possibly reconsider his views on Donald and become friends again? Sir Rod said: "No, I can't anymore. As long as he's selling arms to the Israelis — and he still is. How's that war ever gonna stop?" One thing is for certain, though: Rod is going to be pulling out all the stops for his Legends performance. Glastonbury bosses had initially given him a slot of an hour and a quarter, but he pleaded with them to add an extra 15 minutes as his performances are normally around two hours. Speaking about this, he explained: "It means that there's a lot of songs that people love that I won't be able to play – and I've got three guests coming on." Rod previously revealed he's planning a mini-reunion with his band, Faces. Rolling Stones icon Ronnie Wood will be heading to Worthy Farm in Somerset to join him on stage. Speaking on The Peter Crouch podcast, when asked if he's in touch with The Stones or Sir Elton John, he responded: "Not really, but Woody and I do a lot just recently because we are going to do Glastonbury together." Fans, however, had been concerned ahead of Rod's performance after he was force to pull out of several of his Las Vegas shows due to ill health. Earlier this month, he told fans on social media: "I'm awfully sorry to have to cancel my show June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding. – Rod," as he signed off with a broken heart emoji.

Legendary Singer, 80, Teases Huge Onstage Surprises After Canceling 6 Concerts Due to Illness
Legendary Singer, 80, Teases Huge Onstage Surprises After Canceling 6 Concerts Due to Illness originally appeared on Parade. Rod Stewart may have had to cancel six concerts and postpone two earlier this month, but the "Forever Young" icon, 80, is planning on making his big comeback next week at the famed Glastonbury music festival. Not only will Stewart perform as part of the Legends Slot at the A-list music fest, the "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" singer plans to bring three artists onstage with him, he teased in a new interview with Radio Times. One performer is already known: Stewart previously revealed that Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood would join him onstage. (The musicians were also in the band Faces together.) The other two remain a mystery, one Stewart — who was forced to cancel his shows earlier this month due to a bad bout of the flu — was all too happy to tease. Stewart also revealed exactly what's on his rider for the show. 'I looked at it the other day and I thought, what is all this s**t doing here?" he questioned. "All I need is a few bottles of wine and some crisps, and that's it." He also wasted no time going off on the selection of food pre-planned for him and his bandmates. "And there's all these bloody things! What am I gonna do with them? No hummus, but big piles of bananas and apples!" Stewart vented. "And when you think the whole world's bloody starving. I gotta do something about that." Still, not too much has changed when it comes to the after-parties of Stewart's early career. 'The band have their booze that they request and I have mine. But I think why I love touring now is that we have the best after-gig party. All the girls come, we all get showered, all the girls are dancing,' Stewart told the outlet. There are some differences now, however. 'We put music on and we're all having a laugh," the musician revealed. "It's so much more fun than it was in the old days with just the guys. So many egos and drug-taking. It's brilliant, I love it now.' Legendary Singer, 80, Teases Huge Onstage Surprises After Canceling 6 Concerts Due to Illness first appeared on Parade on Jun 18, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

Rock icon Rod, 80, is set to return to Worthy Farm for the first time in over two decades, having last performed on the Pyramid Stage 23 years ago. 3 He's this year's Legends slot act, joining a long list of iconic performers who've taken on the prestigious role. In a new interview with the Radio Times, the singer opened up about the cost of making his Glastonbury comeback – a staggering £300,000. Sir Rod has been touring in the United States, a post that has meant his crew, staging, and equipment are all currently across the Atlantic. The logistics of transporting everything back for the UK festival haven't come cheap. He told the magazine: "It was about eight months ago when I was asked to do it, maybe a little longer. But it didn't fit with my schedule because I've got to bring everybody back from America. "It's going to cost me £300,000 to do it and they only pay you about 120,000 quid. So it's going to cost me." Despite the financial hit, Sir Rod is clearly not fazed by the expense. For him, the chance to take on the Glastonbury Legends slot is well worth the price. He says it 'doesn't matter' if he ends up out of pocket. Sir Rod will take to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday 29th June, the final day of the festival, with his performance scheduled for the early evening. He wrote: "So sorry my friends. I'm devastated and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to my fans. I'll be back on stage and will see you soon." The Grammy -winner signed off with a heartbroken emoji. His next slide confirmed the four cancelled dates are three performances at the Colosseum Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, and one at Lake Tahoe Amphitheater at Caeser's Republic in Stateline, Nevada. He is rescheduling two dates at casinos in California. Sir Rod has cancelled a number of dates at his Colosseum residency over the last week, with his scheduled June 2nd and June 5th performances.
