Arsenal handed boost as Roma make dramatic transfer U-turn

Arsenal have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of Evan N'Dicka, with Roma forced to consider an 'immediate' sale of the central defender this summer. N'Dicka enjoyed an outstanding season in Serie A last term and was one of only two outfield players to be on the field for every single minute of the top-flight campaign, along with Lecce's Federico Baschirotto. The 25-year-old's performances in Italian football over the last two years have naturally attracted the attentions of a number of top teams across European football, including Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle. Last month, the Gunners were said to have made an enquiry to gauge N'Dicka's potential availability, with the club looking to bring in added support and competition for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes at the back. Subsequent reports suggested Roma had no plans to cash in on N'Dicka given the centre-back was deemed to be one of eight 'immovable' players at the Stadio Olimpico. But according to Corriere dello Sport, Roma's hierarchy have been forced to dramatically change their stance on N'Dicka's future as they must make a quickfire sale in order to comply with financial fair play regulations. It's claimed the €30million (£26m) raised from the recent departures of Enzo Le Fee and Samuel Dahl – and the imminent sale of Nicola Zalewski – will not be enough to get Roma out of trouble. Roma had been relaxed about the situation given Angelino appeared set for a lucrative move to Al-Hilal, but that proposed deal has fallen through. The Saudi Pro League outfit could renew their interest in the left-back after the Club World Cup. To avoid sanctions, Roma must consider consider the 'painful but understandable' sale of N'Dicka, who was this week named Ivory Coast's Player of the Year. It's claimed Roma chiefs are exploring the English market with a view to coaxing offers from the Premier League for N'Dicka, which could bring Arsenal back into the picture for the former Eintracht Frankfurt centre-half. Roma stand to make a significant profit on N'Dicka, should they decide to sell, considering the Ivory Coast international joined the club on a free transfer two years ago. In a recent interview with L'Equipe, N'Dicka refused to be drawn on speculation surrounding his future and insisted he remained fully committed to Roma. More Trending 'I'm not pretending that I don't see the rumours,' Ndicka told the French publication last month. 'But I have respect in Rome and I respect them 'I have three years remaining on my contract, we will see what happens later.' Ndicka's current contract in the Italian capital runs through to June 2028. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Krstovic could replace Tammy Abraham at Roma

Roma continue to look for additional strikers to further reinforce Gian Piero Gasperini's squad ahead of next season. Among the profiles indicated by Gian Piero Gasperini is that of Nikola Krstovic, Lecce's centre-forward who performed well in the last Serie A season. Advertisement The Giallorossi coach appreciates him for his ability to adapt to multiple roles in the offensive department and for a mobility that could marry with the new playing system. According to La Repubblica, the Salento club has set the player's price tag at 30 million euros and would not be willing to negotiate lower. A significant figure that could complicate the operation, especially in the presence of competition from Milan and Leeds, who are also interested in the Montenegrin striker. Meanwhile, at Roma the future of Tammy Abraham is the talk of the town. Having returned after his loan at Milan, Abraham's future is still uncertain. The Giallorossi, in order to avoid a capital loss, are evaluating possible offers that could guarantee an advantageous transfer.

Report – Inter Milan Open Contract Extension Talks With Talented Nigeria Midfielder

Inter Milan have reportedly opened a dialogue with teenage midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro over a new contract. Per Sky Sport via FCInter1908, the San Siro giants have opened talks with the player's agent over a renewal. Advertisement Ebenezer Akinsanmiro joined Inter from Nigerian outfit Remo Stars in January 2023, signing a four-year deal. However, he only made one senior appearance for the Nerazzurri. Indeed, he came on as a late substitute in a 4-0 win over Lecce in February 2024. (Photo by Carlo Hermann / AFP) (Photo by CARLO HERMANN/AFP via Getty Images) Akinsanmiro spent last season on loan at Sampdoria in Serie B. Despite La Samp's relegation to tier three, the 20-year-old Nigerian saw plenty of action last term. Indeed, he racked up 35 appearances for the Genoa side, scoring once and providing one assist. After Sampdoria's calamitous campaign, it's hard to imagine Akinsanmiro staying there for another year. Meanwhile, his contract at Inter runs out in 2026. Therefore, the Italian heavyweights have no time to lose as they've accelerated extension talks with his entourage.

Exclusive: Lecce in talks with Di Francesco after Giampaolo's exit

Exclusive: Lecce in talks with Di Francesco after Giampaolo's exit Eusebio Di Francesco is heading towards the Venezia exit door and has been contacted by Cremonese and Lecce. Di Francesco is unlikely to remain at Venezia for the 2025-26 campaign. Sources with knowledge of the matter exclusively inform me that the former Roma boss has been approached by Lecce and the newly promoted side, Cremonese. Advertisement Pisa are another newly promoted team looking for a new coach and have held positive talks with 2006 Italy World Cup winner Alberto Gilardino. Lecce are working behind the scenes with Di Francesco, but talks are ongoing and progressing well. The Salentini confirmed Marco Giampaolo's exit on Monday.
