The message was delivered in a video address to participants of the plenary session of the organisation's 19th General Assembly, hosted by TASS agency. 'Such efforts, which genuinely help improve the global information environment, deserve both respect and support," Lavrov emphasised. He also highlighted the event's comprehensive agenda, noting that the General Assembly is being held within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). "We will discuss a broad range of issues relevant to the journalistic community - from combating fake news and disinformation to integrating artificial intelligence technologies into our work," Lavrov said. OANA was established in 1961 at the initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

Chaos in Tel Aviv After Iran Targets Israel with Cluster Warhead
H-Tayea Tel Aviv was gripped by panic on Thursday after Iran launched a ballistic missile carrying a cluster bomb warhead at central Israel, according to the Israeli military. An Israeli military official said the missile poses a broader threat than conventional warheads due to its payload of submunitions. "This type of missile endangers a much wider area," he told the Times of Israel, adding that each submunition has a smaller explosive power but is scattered over a large radius. The warhead reportedly splits at around 7 kilometers altitude, releasing approximately 20 smaller bomblets across an 8-kilometer radius. These submunitions lack guidance systems and fall unpredictably, increasing the danger to civilians. The Israeli army has issued strong warnings against approaching missile debris, stressing that remaining parts may still explode. Iran launched around 20 ballistic missiles in total, with four reportedly striking a residential home in Azor. Other missiles, fitted with heavy warheads, hit Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba and buildings in Ramat Gan and Holon, causing major damage and injuring dozens. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

IAEA: No Evidence of Systematic Iranian Nuclear Weapons Development
Ahmed Emam The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has stated that there is no evidence of systematic Iranian activities aimed at developing nuclear weapons, according to a Alqahera News. The announcement comes amid heightened international scrutiny over Iran's nuclear program, particularly in light of ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The IAEA, the United Nations' nuclear watchdog, has long been tasked with monitoring Iran's nuclear facilities and ensuring compliance with international agreements. While the agency has previously expressed concerns about Iran's lack of full transparency and cooperation, this latest assessment suggests that Iran is not currently engaged in any organized effort to weaponize its nuclear capabilities. The statement is likely to impact diplomatic discussions, especially as world powers continue to debate the future of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the 2015 nuclear deal from which the United States withdrew in 2018. The IAEA's findings may bolster Tehran's claims that its nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes, even as Western countries remain cautious over Iran's uranium enrichment levels and reduced cooperation with inspectors. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

FM Abdelatty discusses Israel-Iran escalation with Russia, Ireland FMs - Foreign Affairs
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke on Tuesday with his Russian and Irish counterparts, Sergey Lavrov and Simon Harris, as regional tensions continue to mount amid the ongoing military escalation between Israel and Iran. According to Egypt's foreign ministry, the calls focused on the risk of the conflict spreading and the urgent need to de-escalate hostilities. Abdelatty, Lavrov, and Harris all underscored the importance of a ceasefire and a return to negotiations on Iran's nuclear programme. They rejected military action as a way forward, warning it would only deepen instability. In his call with Lavrov, Abdelatty discussed coordination between the Egyptian and Russian presidents, who have been engaging with regional and international leaders to contain the crisis. Both foreign ministers referred to recent communications with officials across the Middle East and the United States aimed at preventing a broader conflict. Lavrov also supported the joint statement issued by Arab and Islamic states calling for an immediate ceasefire and renewed diplomatic talks. In his separate conversation with Harris, Abdelatty stressed that the confrontation between Israel and Iran should not distract from the war on the Gaza Strip. Both ministers called for intensified efforts to restore a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and deliver urgent humanitarian aid. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's role in securing a truce, facilitating prisoner exchanges, and ensuring aid reaches civilians in the besieged Strip. He condemned Israel's deadly blockade on Gaza, weaponizing starvation against the over two million population, as well as settler incursions in the occupied West Bank, describing them as violations of international humanitarian law. Abdelatty welcomed Ireland's position on Palestinian statehood and said broader European recognition of a Palestinian state would be a critical step toward achieving a two-state solution. Iran Claims Deadly Missile Strike on Israeli Intelligence Centers
H-Tayea Iranian media outlets reported Tuesday that several senior Israeli intelligence officials were killed in a missile strike launched by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on facilities in Tel Aviv. According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC targeted key Israeli intelligence infrastructure — including the Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) and the Mossad headquarters — with what it described as a newly developed, precision-guided missile. The attack reportedly occurred early in the morning, bypassing advanced air defense systems and striking the intended sites north of Tel Aviv. Iranian sources claimed the strike caused significant casualties among high-ranking Israeli intelligence and security personnel. "A large number of senior officers involved in espionage and intelligence operations were killed," the report stated. The IRGC released a statement confirming responsibility for the operation, calling it a "pivotal and effective" mission. It said the targeted sites served as centers for planning assassinations and sabotage operations against Iran and its allies. The statement added that the Mossad facility caught fire following the missile impact. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
