Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 Hybrid revealed: Most powerful LC ever with 475 hp!

Japanese Automaker Toyota has revealed the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 Hybrid in the Australian markets. The SUV features a new petrol-hybrid powertrain delivering a combined output of 457 hp, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser ever. The Japanese automaker has also refreshed the Land Cruiser 300 with subtle design enhancements and features. The new Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid is scheduled to launch in Australia in the first half of 2026, with other markets to follow. There is no confirmation on when TKM ( Toyota Kirloskar Motor ) will bring the LC 300 petrol hybrid to India. Talking about the new hybrid powertrain, the new Hybrid LC gets a newly developed 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine , coupled with an electric motor in a parallel hybrid setup. Together, this configuration delivers a combined output of 457 hp and 790 nm of torque. It comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and also gets 4x4. The same engine also does the job in the Lexus LX 700h luxury SUV. In addition to the new petrol-hybrid powertrain, the Land Cruiser 300 hybrid features a few subtle design revisions when compared to the regular model. It features a redesigned front bumper and a slightly enlarged air intake, along with HEV-specific badging on the boot lid. These cosmetic tweaks are limited to the hybrid model, as the GR Sport variant, despite sharing the same hybrid powertrain retains its original exterior design. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ductless Air Conditioners Are Selling Like Crazy [See Why] Keep Cool Click Here Undo VinFast VF7, VF6 Review: Good for India or not?| TOI Auto Moving inside, the changes are minimal. Talking about the model available in India, it's available in two variants - ZX and GR-S, priced from Rs 2.31 crores (ex-showroom). The SUV is powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine, generating 309 hp and 700 Nm of peak torque. This powerhouse is mated to a 10-speed automatic torque converter transmission, sending power to all four wheels via a full-time 4WD system. Self-charging hybrid Toyota Land Cruiser 300 finally arrives, but…

Approved for Australia from 2026, for the moment, the hybrid is an unknown for South Africa. Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid has been given a different frontal design from the normal petrol version. Image: Toyota Qatar First reported six years ago as heading for the then still born Land Cruiser 300, Toyota has quietly introduced the long rumoured hybrid variant in select Middle Eastern markets only with plans of expanding availability elsewhere unknown at present. Available in two trim levels in the United Arab Emirates, VX-R and GR Sport, and three in Qatar, VX, VX-R and GR Sport, the simply titled Land Cruiser HEV adopts a self-charging petrol-based setup rather than the diesel-electric combination mulled in 2019. The same configuration as upscale Lexus brand's LX 700h, the hybrid Land Cruiser combines the familiar 3.5-litre badged 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor and battery for a total system output of 336kW/790Nm. Down five kilowatts but up 140 Nm on the LX, the system is once again connected to a hybrid optimised 10-speed automatic, which sends the amount of twist to all four corners via the full-time four-wheel-drive system with the perennial low range transfer case included. Besides the unique Gazoo Racing exterior changes that comes with the GR Sport, both the VX and VX-R, regardless of market, differ subtly from the regular Land Cruiser 300 by means of not only the HEV badges, but a restyled bumper, outer grille surround, a new lower air intake and different fog light bezels. Inside, and bar hybrid specific readouts with the infotainment system and instrument cluster, the HEV appears otherwise identical to the normal Land Cruiser 300, which in the Middle East derives motivation from either the non-electrified twin-turbo V6, or the stalwart normally aspirated 4.0-litre V6. Unsurprisingly absent is the 3.3-litre turbodiesel V6. Not yet approved Reportedly approved for Australia from the first quarter of next, according to pricing in the UAE ranges from 389 900 (R1 910 379) to 409 900 dirham (R2 008 372), and from 385 000 (R1 898 235) to 405 000 riyal (R1 996 845) in Qatar. As stands, no word about the Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid coming to South Africa has been made, although if approved, expect it to arrive possibly after the start of sales Down Under. Presently, the five model Land Cruiser 300 range starts at R1 512 100 for the 3.3d GX-R and ends at R2 130 000 for the twin-turbo petrol V6 GR Sport. Toyota Unleashes the Most Powerful Land Cruiser Ever But Not For America

The Land Cruiser 300 is now fully hybrid in the Middle East, making it the most powerful version of the iconic nameplate. Toyota Land Cruiser: An Evolution of the Iconic Nameplate Introduced in the 1950s, the Toyota Land Cruiser range has become a global icon, and rightfully so. Its go-anywhere and imposing demeanor has become its calling card and is among the toughest and most recognizable vehicles on the planet. From the Toyota Jeep BJ, the Land Cruiser has evolved into several shapes and forms, with the heavy-duty series Station Wagon line serving as the most versatile versions at the top of the range. In the US, the 200 series was the final heavy-duty Land Cruiser, leaving the lineup for the light-duty Land Cruiser 250, also known in other markets as the Land Cruiser Prado. 2025 Ford Maverick: 4 reasons to love it, 2 reasons to think twice Watch More But it seems like America is missing out, as the Land Cruiser 300 series has now evolved into the inevitable – it has become a hybrid, officially turning into the most powerful Land Cruiser to date. Initially launching in the Middle East, the Land Cruiser Hybrid is powered by a 3.5-liter dual VVT-i V35A-FTS V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine that works in concert with a parallel hybrid system. The whole system produces a total of 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. The system is mated to a 10-speed nickel-metal hybrid battery. That makes it the most powerful LC to date, with a pulling power that surpasses even the diesel variant sold in select markets. To differentiate from the non-hybrid Land Cruiser 300, the hybrid model gets black fog lamp housings, along with HEV and 457 TT badges to indicate the top-of-the-line electrified output numbers. Color options include black, white, and silver, while the sportier-looking GR Sport trim is solely available in black. Inside, the black and red theme is the sole option in the Middle East for now for the leather upholstery. America's Version Is More Luxurious It appears that Toyota Middle East has removed the non-hybrid options in the region, leaving buyers with two choices: the GR Sport Hybrid or the VXR Hybrid. According to the configurator, the estimated delivery date of the electrified Land Cruiser is this September. While the US is missing out on the Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid, American fans can opt for something more luxurious while still benefiting from the added performance and efficiency of a hybrid powertrain. We're talking about the Lexus LX 700h, which has the same setup as the newly introduced Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid. It's a bit pricey, though, with a starting price of $115,350, including on-road charges. Autoblog Newsletter Autoblog brings you car news; expert reviews and exciting pictures and video.
