Students' Summer School Collection Is for Twilight Range Sessions
There's something about the last summer before everything changes. Longer days, empty parking lots, range balls under golden Golf's latest collection, Summer School, channels that in-between feeling. The stretch of time when real life lessons happen away from the classroom. Built around breathable mesh polos, heavyweight jersey tees, washed cotton caps, and utility-driven shorts, the collection holds its shape even as the season loosens. Hints of varsity styling and quiet nods to golf heritage ground the look, while each piece is cut for movement and heat. The palette is sun-faded, and the silhouettes are familiar but intentional. Each garment is designed to feel broken-in from the start, like something you might've worn years ago and just never stopped reaching for. For the campaign, Students partnered with the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation, featuring players Carolina and Alejandro Pedrozas, as well as EPSON Tour pro Katie Villegas, adding a touch of lived-in storytelling for the LA-based brand. The collection launches Summer 2025 exclusively with global distribution through key partners including Nordstrom, HBX, Bodega, Politics, Extra Butter and select golf retailers like TrendyGolf and Roger Dunn.

Women's soccer club owned by Disney CEO Bob Iger and wife rips ICE raids — and brands itself ‘Immigrant City FC'
The women's professional soccer team co-owned by Disney boss Robert Iger and his wife Willow Bay has come out against the Trump administration's aggressive immigration enforcement actions in the club's home city of Los Angeles — and branded itself 'Immigrant City FC' amid the controversy. Angel City FC, the National Women's Soccer League Team for which the Igers paid around $100 million for a controlling stake last year, posted a message on its official Instagram account over the Juneteenth holiday. The team said it was 'heartbroken by the fear and uncertainty many in our Los Angeles community are feeling right now,' referring to ICE raids in LA that have become a flashpoint in the simmering national debate over undocumented migrants. Advertisement 5 Angel City FC, the Los Angeles-based women's professional soccer team whose ownership group includes Disney CEO Bob Iger and his journalist wife Willow Bay, has come out against the Trump administration's immigration policies. Getty Images The post continued: 'At Angel City, we believe in the power of belonging. We know that our city is stronger because of its diversity and the people and families who shape it, love it, and call it home.' The statement is part of a larger campaign launched by Angel City FC called 'Immigrant City F.C.,' which includes the distribution of 10,000 bilingual T-shirts at a recent home match, according to the news site Deadline. The initiative was backed by the team's ownership group, including high-profile figures like Eva Longoria, Uzo Aduba, Jessica Chastain and America Ferrera. Advertisement All net proceeds from the shirt sales are being donated to Camino Immigration Services, a nonprofit law firm that represents undocumented migrants. While Iger is not involved in day-to-day management of the club, the Disney chief and his wife, who have gained a reputation for wanting to steer clear of political controversies, both signed off on the 'Immigrant City' campaign and were consulted through every step, according to Deadline. Los Angeles sports teams have been roped into the immigration debate in the last couple of days. The Dodgers, one of two LA-based Major League Baseball clubs, said they denied permission to federal agents with the Department of Homeland Security to gain access to Dodger Stadium's parking lot. Advertisement 5 Protesters were seen outside Dodger Stadium on Thursday after federal agents allegedly tried to gain access to the venue's parking lot. / MEGA The federal agents instead set up shop just outside of the stadium at Chavez Ravine — prompting protesters to descend on the scene. The Post has sought comment from Disney, Bay and the Angel City FC club. Iger, meanwhile, has been criticized along with other media executives for bending the knee to President Donald Trump. Advertisement In December 2024, Disney, the parent company of ABC, agreed to a $16 million settlement to resolve a defamation lawsuit brought by Trump. The case stemmed from repeated on-air statements by ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos, who said Trump had been 'found liable for rape' in the E. Jean Carroll civil trial. 5 Angel City FC posted a message on its official Instagram account. In fact, Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and defamation, not rape. After a federal judge in Florida denied Disney's motions to dismiss, and with discovery looming, the company agreed to pay $15 million to Trump's presidential foundation and museum, along with $1 million in legal fees. Earlier this month, Disney-owned ABC News faced another controversy when veteran correspondent Terry Moran was fired following a viral post on X. In the post, Moran called Trump and White House adviser Stephen Miller 'world-class haters,' claiming Miller's 'hatreds serve as his spiritual sustenance.' The post triggered swift condemnation from the White House, with Vice President JD Vance calling the remarks 'vile.' ABC suspended Moran within hours, citing a violation of its editorial standards, and shortly after announced his departure from the network. 5 Federal agents stage outside Gate E of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Thursday. AP Advertisement Before President Trump was elected to a second term, Disney found itself at the center of America's cultural battles. Detractors, especially on the right, have accused Disney of being too political. In 2020, Disney publicly criticized Florida's Parental Rights in Education Act — dubbed the 'Don't Say Gay' law by opponents — which limited how gender identity and sexual orientation could be discussed in schools. After initially staying quiet, the company reversed course under pressure from employees and the public. That shift drew the ire of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who moved to strip Disney of its special governing district, Reedy Creek — a privilege the company had enjoyed for more than 50 years. The dispute dragged on for two years, landing in court before a settlement was reached in 2024. Advertisement 5 Fans hold up signs opposing recent ICE raids during a game between the Angel City FC and the North Carolina Courage at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on June 14. NWSL via Getty Images Conservatives have been critical of Disney's handling of LGBTQ themes in its programming—particularly content aimed at children. The most recent example involves the animated series 'Win or Lose,' in which Disney reportedly removed a transgender storyline involving a character originally portrayed as transitioning. Advertisement While the character remained in the show, key dialogue and narrative elements tied to their gender identity were cut before the series aired on Disney+. The company stated that such topics are best left to parents to address with their children—a move that was praised by many conservative viewers as a reasonable and respectful approach. In 2022, the company was criticized for initially removing — and then restoring — a same-sex kiss in 'Lightyear,' prompting international bans and boycotts.

Monty Python star rushed to hospital for third time in two days as he reveals health battle
Last year he had a scathing rant about his co-star's daughter's handling of the Python finances ACTOR'S PAIN Monty Python star rushed to hospital for third time in two days as he reveals health battle Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MONTY Python star has been rushed to hospital for a third time in just two days. LA-based Eric Idle, 82, took to social media platform X to inform fans of his health issue. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 3 Eric Idle was taken to hospital three times in two days after falling ill Credit: Getty 3 He was a member of the iconic comedy group Monty Python He wrote: "So I'd like to thank all the doctors nurses and staff in the Cedars GI ward for their kindness and help to me today. The second time in three days. I think I'm suffering from Gastroenteritis. I love you people." Gastroenteritis is common and is inflammation inside the stomach which can cause issues like vomiting and diarrhea. Severe cases can lead to dehydration requiring medical treatment. Fans wished him well, with one writing: "Get well soon Eric." Another said: "Praying for healing for you sir. :)" A third commented: "Please take care of yourself. The world would be a less amusing place without you." Last year Idle revealed the surviving Pythons were locked in a bitter feud over finances. He claimed he receives only a fraction of the millions the legendary comedy team have made in the past. And he took aim at Holly Gilliam, the TV lawyer daughter of fellow Python Terry Gilliam, 84. She took over the Python brand in 2013 as part of HDG Projects Ltd. In messages on X, Idle wrote: 'I don't know why people always assume we're loaded. "I have to work for my living. I never dreamed that at this age the income streams would tail off so disastrously. Monty Python's John Cleese and Terry Gilliam reunite with Michael Palin for 81st birthday as fans praise the 'silly men' 'I have been working and earning for Pythons since 1995. And now no more.' In a dig at Holly Gilliam, he added: 'I guess if you put a Gilliam child in as your manager you should not be so surprised. 'One Gilliam is bad enough. Two can take out any company.' Daughter Lily Idle backed him, writing online: 'I'm so proud of my dad for finally finally finally starting to share the truth.' The Pythons, who also included John Cleese, 85, Michael Palin, 81, and the late Terry Jones — made a mint thanks to films, including Life of Brian, hit stage show Spamalot, which Idle co-wrote, and the original Flying Circus BBC TV series. They were back in the limelight in 2014 with Monty Python Live (Mostly) — One Down, Five to Go, a reference to former member Graham Chapman who died in 1989 aged just 48. It featured interpretations of some of their sketches, and reportedly earned the surviving members at least £2million each. It was a hit in Europe and the US and is still running on Broadway. Idle, who lives in California, dismissed comments suggesting he must still be wealthy, saying he had sold his house. He added: 'We still get something but not enough to keep me on the beaches.' Cleese was recently asked about his relationship with Idle by Candis Magazine and said: "We used to be close. But not in recent years.'

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry axe four key staff members after 'disaster move'
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to reports, have dismissed four major employees following a sequence of public relations missteps. It's claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have separated from LA-based deputy press secretary Kyle Boulia and UK press officer Charlie Gipson, both of whom joined their team in April 2024. Recent weeks have also seen two other members of Harry and Meghan's personal staff reportedly depart. These shifts follow Harry and Meghan's appointment of a new communications team earlier this year, overseen by chief communication officer Meredith Maines, who has confirmed her squad comprises eight people spread across five different time zones. READ MORE - Royal fans spot 'major change' for Prince Louis at Trooping the Colour READ MORE - Kate Middleton's 'firm' command to Prince Louis on palace balcony exposed Adding to their revamped communications armoury, Harry and Meghan have brought on Emily Robinson, the ex-publicity manager for The Crown during its controversial seasons three through six, as their director of communications. The sixth season of the acclaimed Netflix series included contentious representations, like Prince Harry in Nazi garb, Princess Diana's impactful Panorama interview, and even portrayed Diana in ghostly conversations with Queen Elizabeth II. An insider speaking to Hello! Magazine hinted at further potential upheavals, saying: "Something tells me there will be another change in the future. Meghan and Harry have hired some of the most incredible people at the top of their fields, yet somehow none of them ever work out.", reports the Mirror. The couple, who renounced senior Royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, seem to be navigating choppy staffing waters. Following alterations within the Sussexes' team, their Chief Communications Officer Meredith shared a statement with The Mirror: "As the Duke and Duchess's business and philanthropic interests grow, I have made the strategic decision to move toward a more traditional communications structure of specialist agency support, as previously reported in Forbes and PR Week several weeks ago. Transitioning from a team of two to an agency support staff of eight, operating across five different time zones, will give international media and stakeholders better access, and critically, faster response times to inquiries." The Sussexes have recently caused a stir with some of their media appearances, including a controversial BBC interview given by Harry after his appeal against the downgrade of his UK security was rejected. In the interview, Harry alleged that his father, King Charles, is no longer speaking to him due to disagreements over his security arrangements while in the UK. (Image: Anadolu via Getty Images) (Image: Getty) He also brought up the King's cancer treatment and expressed uncertainty about "how much longer my father has left," which drew criticism for fuelling speculation about the monarch's health. Meghan Markle delighted fans by sharing a playful video where she's seen twerking with Prince Harry as part of her efforts to induce labour while she was pregnant with Lilibet. In the light-hearted Instagram clip, sprightly Meghan narrates over the minute-long footage saying: "Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates... so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work – there was only one thing left to do!". Moreover, the Duchess has enjoyed success with her Netflix series, 'With Love, Meghan,' which, despite receiving a mix of critiques, proved popular enough to bag a second season on the streaming site. Adding to her ventures, Meghan has introduced her own brand, As Ever, offering a selection of homemade products such as raspberry jam, wildflower honey, herbal teas, flower sprinkles, crepe mix, and shortbread cookie mix. It was earlier mentioned that Meghan was poised to attend a charity gala in Los Angeles; however, the event is no longer going forward due to the unrest in the city. She was to be the guest of honour at the Museum of Natural History in LA, where she planned to speak about her extensive charitable activities. Amidst the ongoing protests in LA, with demonstrators clashing with ICE officers, the prestigious Night of Wonder event has been put on hold. Dr. Lori Bettison-Varga, President and Director of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, commented: "As an institution 'of, for, and with Los Angeles,' our responsibility during challenging times is clear: to serve as a community resource focused on healing and unity, not celebration. "Los Angeles needs us to channel our energy toward supporting our neighbours and demonstrating the values that make our city and county strong," she added. The museum's Board of Trustees, leadership, and event partners collectively decided to indefinitely postpone the event, agreeing that it was "the appropriate response to current community circumstances." Paul Bessire, the museum's Chief Advancement Officer, remarked: "We will find a future moment to celebrate our work. Until then, we will channel our energy towards being welcoming spaces for learning and discovery for everyone who walks through our doors." The museum plans to reschedule the Night of Wonder for a future date and will maintain its regular operations and educational activities in the meantime.
