Mandya DC directs effective management of Aarogya Dhaama

Mandya: DC Kumara on Monday directed the authorities to ensure the proper upkeep and functioning of Aarogya Dhaama, a health facility within the MIMS campus, using Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. The facility provides affordable accommodation for caretakers of in-patients at the hospital. Kumara appointed MP Krishnakumar, joint director of the department of food and civil supplies, as the nodal officer to oversee the operations, and Dr Darshan Kumar, resident medical officer at MIMS. Kumara said caretakers wishing to stay at the facility will be charged Rs 30 for 24-hour stay. Receipts must be issued through a computer-based system linked to the patient's admission number. Registration counters must display details as well. Separate registers must be maintained for Aarogya Dhaama operations and resident records. Funds collected will be credited to the user fund and used for staff salaries and the facility's maintenance. Speaking at the meeting, MIMS director Dr Narasimhappa said separate queues have been implemented in the out-patient department for men, women, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. During a recent inspection, the Lokayukta had flagged certain deficiencies. Kumara said corrective measures have been initiated, and a compliance report will be submitted. He also mandated night-time inspections and asked the authorities to ensure cleanliness at all times. Following the meeting, DC inspected the OPD, pharmacy, and vehicle parking area and noted that although the approved fee for 8 hours is Rs 7, receipts were being issued at Rs 10. He warned that failure to adhere to proper billing procedures could lead to cancellation of the parking contract.

The Crime Branch will also investigate a counter complaint by the employees who alleged that Krishnakumar and his team abducted them. The case, first investigated by the Museum Police, was transferred based on a report by the Thiruvananthapuram city police commissioner. The report said the Museum station faces practical difficulties in handling the case due to other law and order duties. It also noted that the case is sensational and has gained public attention.

The move comes as Museum police almost verified that the allegation levelled against the accused was true. Krishnakumar alleged that the staff of his daughter Diya's imitation jewellery shop 'Oh By Ozy' at Kowdiar swindled Rs 69 lakh by replacing the QR code scanner to receive payments from customers. The fraud came to light during an audit and police booked staffers Vineetha, Divya and Radhakumar. Vineetha's husband Adarsh was also booked for abusing and threatening Diya over the dispute. Meanwhile, the staff alleged that Krishnakumar kidnapped them and extorted money. However, as per CCTV visuals and videos presented, the allegation against Krishnakumar was found to be fake. QR code fraud: Jewellery business of BJP leader's daughter in the spotlight

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A dispute involving BJP leader G Krishnakumar's family and employees of his daughter Diya's jewellery store, 'Oh by Ozy' in Kowdiar, has sparked parallel police investigations following serious allegations from both sides. The matter surfaced after both parties lodged complaints on June 3, accusing each other of offences ranging from financial fraud to wrongful confinement and extortion. The Museum police registered a case against Krishnakumar and his family based on a complaint by three women employees, who alleged they were abducted, threatened, and coerced into confessing to embezzling company funds. They claimed they were summoned to Krishnakumar's office, had their phones taken away, and were forced to admit to manipulating QR code payments. These allegations followed Krishnakumar's earlier complaint that the same employees had diverted Rs 69 lakh from Diya's store by routing customer payments to their personal accounts using personal QR codes. Based on his complaint, the police also filed a case and began collecting evidence, including bank records and digital transaction histories.

Actor-politician G Krishnakumar and family face kidnapping and extortion allegations

Thiruvananthapuram police have registered a kidnapping and extortion case against actor-cum-politician G Krishnakumar and his family. A female staff of Krishnakumar's daughter Diya's firm filed a complaint, alleging that the actor and Diya kidnapped her and extorted money, police confirmed on Saturday. Simultaneously, the police registered an embezzlement case against the female staff. Krishnakumar and Diya filed this complaint, accusing the employee of financial misconduct. "We have registered both cases," stated an officer from the Museum police station, where authorities filed the First Information Reports (FIRs). "We are currently reviewing all evidence submitted with the complaints. Further action will follow this review." Meanwhile, Krishnakumar told a television channel that three female employees embezzled approximately 69 lakh from the firm while his pregnant daughter, Diya, could not look after the business. The actor also claimed that after they discovered the embezzlement and threatened law enforcement action, the women met with them, alongside their husbands, and confessed to the crime. "They initially paid about 8 lakh and promised to return the remaining money, asking us not to file a complaint," Krishnakumar asserted. "However, one of them later called and threatened my daughter, prompting us to file a police complaint on May 30 or 31." He further claimed the employee's complaint against his family was a counter-complaint, filed just one day after their own. "Now I have learnt that police have registered a case under non-bailable provisions against all six members of my family, including my son-in-law," he stated. Krishnakumar also confirmed sending an electronic mail to the CM's Office that explains the situation, to which he received a response. He claims to possess electronic evidence of the staff committing the said crime and subsequently admitting their guilt. "We have provided all this evidence to the police," he concluded.
