The SPFL has this morning released the full fixture list for the 2025/26 Premiership campaign - and the champions kick off their title defence at home to St Mirren on Sunday, August 3 in front of the TV cameras. ‌ Kieran Tierney is already in the door but the green-and-white faithful will be hoping to see plenty more new faces by the time the curtain-raiser comes around. ‌ Just like Flag Day, the first away trip for Brendan Rodgers' five-in-a-row chasers at Aberdeen will also be beamed live by Sky Sports. Andy Robertson has 'tailor made' transfer after Celtic pitch as £8m Taylor successor blocked and Inamura addressed

The Scotland captain looks to be nearing a Liverpool exit after eight years at Anfield Andy Robertson should head for Atletico Madrid if he leaves Liverpool this summer despite the prospect of a dream move to Celtic. The chase by the Premier League champions to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez this summer has plunged the long-term Anfield future of Robertson into doubt. ‌ The 31-year-old has entered the final year of his deal - with Atleti said to have made Robertson their top target this summer. ‌ But the prospect of bringing Robertson to his boyhood club has been pitched by Pat Nevin - if an "affordable" package is agreed - despite the addition of Kieran Tierney potentially hampering a deal. However, McAvennie reckons playing under Diego Simeone should be the Scotland captain's top option this summer. He told his Let Me Be Frank podcast: 'If he is going to Simeone and Atlético Madrid. Andy Robertson is a tailor-made player for him. 'He is the kind of player he likes. A bit like Kieran Tierney. Full body goes in. He doesn't hold back from a tackle. "He's up and down. But he's a good defender – he will be a superstar in Spain if he goes. 'Andy has done brilliantly. He got knocked back from Celtic. He was told that, 'he wasn't good enough.' Went to Queen's Park. He's gone on to be a superstar. Fair play to the boy. He has dug in. ‌ 'It's a good example, don't listen to people. It's only one man's opinion.' However, Robertson has made no secret of the fact he would like to play for Celtic before the end of his career. He said back in 2020: 'If you asked me now what I would want to do, I would love to retire at Liverpool of course, but you know how hard it is to play at the highest of levels until you're 35, 36. I'd love to pull on the Celtic top and walk out at Parkhead. ‌ 'Do I want to go back at one point to even just live? Yeah, maybe.' The search for a left-back to rival Kieran Tierney is ramping up with Greg Taylor appearing to be heading for the exit door at the end of his contract. The 27-year-old has yet to decide his future with his Celtic contract rapidly approaching an end and both PAOK and FC Copenhagen chasing his signature. ‌ However, Sport Dog reports that talks with the Greek side have now been "frozen" and appear to have stalled. Former Hoops star Tosh McKinlay has admitted he hopes to see the defender stick it out and battle with returning Tierney for a starting spot. Speaking at the Taxi To Troon charity event in Glasgow, he said: "Special mention to Greg, I think he's been fantastic over the years and obviously it's still to be confirmed if he will be staying or going, but it would be great if he stayed and give Kieran some competition for that left back spot. ‌ 'He has been fantastic over this period of five or six years, and I'm sure he'll be wanting to stay as well.' Djurgarden wonderkid Keita Kosugi has been tipped as a potential successor should Taylor depart - and appears to have made his decision on a preferred next move. ‌ The 19-year-old left-back has reportedly had an £8million price tag placed on him by the Swedish side. Foot 7 Champions League winners sports advisor Luis Campos "accelerating" the process of a move. One player who looks set to make the switch to Celtic this summer is defender Hayato Inamura. The 23-year-old, currently at Albirex Niigata, is left-sided and can play both at centre-back and left-back. And amid heavy speculation that the Hoops could dip into the Japanese market again, an Albirex spokesman told Nikkan Sports an official offer had been received from a European club. He said: "We are leaving the negotiations to the clubs themselves, so we are not at the stage where we can talk about whether we will go or not."

Andy Robertson faces 2 Liverpool options as dream Celtic transfer hits roadblock

The Scotland captain could pull the curtain down on his eight years at Anfield as he enters the final 12 months of his contract Andy Robertson has been told to fight for his place at Liverpool - with a dream move to Celtic unlikely. The Scotland captain, 31, faces an uncertain future as he enters the final year of his contract with the Premier League champions. Robbo has made the left-back position his own since his bargain £8million move from Hull City in 2017. But the defender now faces serious competition from incoming Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid could offer Robertson a blockbuster switch to La Liga, where he would go head-to-head with close pal and new Real Madrid signing Trent Alexander-Arnold. Robertson has never hidden his desire to play for Celtic either, but Chelsea legend Pat Nevin reckons Kieran Tierney's return could prevent a romantic move to Parkhead. Speaking to Spin Genie, who offer the latest jackpot slots, Nevin said: "You know when a team like Liverpool are spending £40, £50 million on new players, that they are going to buy someone for them to come and sit on the bench. Milos Kerkez is joining with a view to replacing Andy Robertson. "There are two things Andy can do: either fight for his place or think, 'I don't want to spend the last few years of my career on the bench, so I'll leave.' He needs to have a good talk with Arne Slot and make a decision. "The good thing for him is that there will be plenty of offers on the table. There will be offers from Spain, other English clubs and I'm sure Celtic would take him if it were an affordable prospect. "With two left-backs (including Kieran Tierney), however, Brendan Rodgers would end up with the same problem Steve Clarke faces, which is trying to shoehorn them both into the team. Kieran Tierney joining Celtic could prevent it from happening. "With that being said, though, I, personally, would like to see him stick it out for another year at Liverpool, but that's only if he's been told that he's still in the manager's thinking. If he's not, I'd get out now." You can get all the news you need on our dedicated Rangers and Celtic pages, and sign up to our newsletters to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season. Celtic agree £1.7m transfer fee for Benjamin Nygren

Sky Sports reports that the Scottish Premiership champions will pay £1.7m for the 23-year-old winger. It emerged late last week that personal terms had been verbally agreed between the Sweden international and the Hoops, with discussions progressing well. Celtic will now look to finalise the deal as soon as they can, with first-team players set to return for pre-season duty in the latter stages of next week. Read more: Brendan Rodgers has already added to his squad with the return of Kieran Tierney after his contract expired at Arsenal. The transfer window opened on Monday and will remain open until September 1.

Ex-Celtic star wants return for 'fantastic' ex-teammate

The former Hoops striker has a year left on his contract at Crystal Palace but is out of the picture there after an unfruitful loan at relegated Leicester City. Just 21 goals since leaving Parkhead in a £15million deal four years ago is a far cry from his Celts days when he would hit more than that in just one campaign. So a return to the east end of Glasgow could be just what he needs to resurrect his career. And it would be a similar story to Kieran Tierney and Jota, who have both recently returned to the club for far less than they were initially sold for. Read more: Allan, who was at the club at the same time as the Frenchman, thinks Celtic should be looking to bring him back. With Daizen Maeda potentially moving back out to play in the wide areas, a space could open up for the 27-year-old. He told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: 'I would (take him back), yeah. Fantastic player. It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to. "I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch. 'He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season. I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen.'
