Bloom Energy and Tarana Wireless Stars & Strides Run and Walk
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Independence Day holiday kicks off early with the 5th Annual Bloom Energy and Tarana Wireless Stars and Strides Run, a 5K–10K run/walk and Kids Fun Run that benefits Valley Health Foundation. The event takes place in Discovery Meadow in Downtown San Jose. WHAT: Opening Ceremony (7:30 AM) – Features opening remarks from local elected officials, a costume contest, and a performance of the national anthem by 16-year-old Siena Alexandra Guardino to kick off the festivities. 5K-10K Run/Walk (8:00 AM, sponsored by First Citizens Bank and Amazon) – Santa Clara County Sheriff Bob Jonsen and Sheriff's Office recruits will lead the official start of the race on a flat, fast, and fun course for people of all ages and fitness levels and abilities. Double Helicopter Arrival (9:35 AM, sponsored by HP Inc.) – The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and Calstar helicopters land in the festival area with superheroes and special guests onboard, kicking off the Kids Fun Run with a grand entrance. Special Guest & Healthcare Heroes Ceremony: Following the helicopter landing, we will honor special guests Bastian Michel (former SCVMC patient) and Susan Benton, RN (Assistant Nurse Manager, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center), recognizing all Healthcare Heroes who make a difference in our community, as they kick off the Kids Fun Run. Kids Fun Run at Discovery Meadow Park (10:00 AM, sponsored by Sanmina Corporation) – A ¼-mile course for children between the ages of two and seven, with parents welcome to join with their children. Helio Health to host annual Run for Recovery 5K on May 3
FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — To celebrate recovery and support individuals impacted by substance abuse, mental health and housing challenges, Helio Health will host its annual Run for Recovery 5K and Kids Fun Run. The event will be on Saturday, May 3rd, at Green Lakes State Park. 'One in five individuals in our community is impacted by substance use and mental health disorders,' said Kathleen Gaffney-Babb, President and CEO of Helio Health and the Helio Health Foundation. 'The Run for Recovery is an excellent demonstration of our community showing up in support of one another. Participants can enjoy fresh cider and apple cider donuts from Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards, while Jillie Dogs and Carvel Ice Cream trucks will be available with food for purchase. A Run for Recovery merchandise pop-up will offer limited-edition t-shirts, hoodies, and tanks while supplies last. Registered children will receive a race t-shirt, a goody bag, and enjoy family-friendly activities such as face painting, balloon animals, and crafts. According to Helio Health, they will also include Narcan training and fentanyl test strips. Same-day registration will be available beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Green Lakes State Park (East Beach). 9th Annual Step Up 4 Kids 5k hitting the pavement this Sunday
(WSYR-TV) — According to national statistics, nearly five children die every day from neglect and abuse, but here locally, one organization, the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center is doing their part to change that. They've had a number of events during April, which is National Child Abuse Prevention month, and this morning Nadia Tsai and Samanatha Ciciarelli joined Bride Street to fill us in on the latest edition of the Step Up for Kids 5k and Kids Fun Run. The event is this Sunday, April 27th, at Leavenworth Park and Middle Ages Brewery. There are plenty of activities for the whole family. Schedule of Events: 8:00AM-9:00AM: Registration and packet pick up at Middle Ages (please be aware no cash will be accepted) 9:00AM: Kids Fun Run around Leavenworth Park 9:15AM: Announcements and National Anthem 9:30AM: 5K Run/Walk 10:15AM: Awards Ceremony for Overall Top Finishers for Female and Male Post-Race party hosted by Middle Ages immediately following awards.
