6-year-old boy dies after drowning in Butler County
A 6-year-old boy is dead after drowning in a pool in Butler County. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] According to the Butler County Sheriff's Office, they were called to a home on the 3900 block of Timber Walk Lane for a reported drowning. Responding crews were told the boy was swimming with other children under adult supervision. The child's mother told crews she noticed her son had gone in the deep end and not resurfaced, so she went in and pulled him from the water. 'This is an unimaginable tragedy,' Sheriff Richard Jones said. 'Incidents involving children are the most difficult calls our deputies respond to. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the family during this incredibly difficult time.' The Butler County Sheriff's Office is investigating this incident. 6-year-old dies after being struck by car in Harrison Twp.
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A child is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Harrison Township. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the area of Marlay Road and Briar Place on reports of a child struck by a vehicle. The call came in around 7:45 p.m. Kettering Health resumes normal operations: Update Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 6-year-old child with serious injuries. Witnesses on scene told authorities the child emerged from behind a stopped vehicle and ran into the path of a vehicle traveling west on Marlay Road. The child was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The incident remains under investigation by the MCSO Traffic Services Unit. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Kettering Health Cyberattack: Here's what is being done for patients with sensitive info on dark web
Kettering Health has announced that they have resumed normal operations after key services were knocked out by a cyberattack for nearly three weeks. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] They say they are working to identify what data was impacted in the cyberattack. 'Our investigation is ongoing, and we will directly notify any impacted individuals,' Kettering Health said in their press release. MyChart, which was restored Monday, is functional for patients. MyChart access returning to Kettering Health patients: Update
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — More systems are returning to normal operation as Kettering Health continues to recover from the May 20 cyberattack. According to Kettering Health officials, MyChart is once again available to patients with nearly all of its functionality. Kettering Health patients speak out on aftermath of cyberattack Patients can use MyChart to schedule and view upcoming appointments, view prescription lists, message providers and view test results. Kettering Health says patients may receive extra notifications from MyChart as they continue to restore patient data to EPIC, their electronic medical record system. 'This process— called 'backfill'— updates patient records in real time. When that happens, MyChart automatically sends text and email notifications to let you know,' said Kettering Health. Officials remind patients to remain vigilant when reviewing any digital communications, as there are still reports of several scams surfacing after the cyberattack.
