Japan to take extra measure to curb gasoline prices amid Israel-Iran conflict

Japan's government says it will act to curb spikes in retail prices for gasoline that could occur due to the fighting between Israel and Iran. The government says it will subsidize oil wholesalers so that the cost of regular gasoline at the pump will hover around 175 yen, or about 1.2 dollars, per liter even if crude prices surge. It says it will also provide the same level of subsidy for light oil, roughly half of it for kerosene and heavy oil, and about 40 percent for aviation fuel. The government says the arrangement will be in place for some two months from June 26. It says it will use an existing fund to finance the measure. The move comes on top of a fixed-amount subsidy to oil wholesalers already in place. That program began last month to stem gasoline prices and counter rising prices. The amount of subsidy has gradually increased to 10 yen per liter.

Ella Langley Talks Full-Circle Sand in My Boots Set and 'Living Her Biggest Dream' with Miranda Lambert (Exclusive)

Ella Langley opens up about her full-circle moment playing Morgan Wallen's Sand in My Boots Festival Langley says sharing the stage with Miranda Lambert at the 2025 ACMs was like "living her biggest dream ever" The "Weren't for the Wind" singer reveals what love smells like at Bath & Body Works' activation at the inaugural music festivalElla Langley is a country fan's dream girl! On Saturday, May 17, the "Weren't for the Wind" singer caught up with PEOPLE at the Scent x Sound Lab by Bath & Body Works after her rocking performance at Morgan Wallen's inaugural Sand in My Boots Festival. For Langley, who's an Alabama native, this was a full-circle moment. "I used to go to Hangout [Music Festival]. That was the thing I did for my senior graduation," Langley, 26, tells PEOPLE of the music festival, held at Alabama's Gulf Shores. "We didn't go on a senior trip. I went to Hangout, and every year I go on vacation down here." The "Hell of a Man" singer continues, "It's just cool to be included on this first year of Sand in My Boots. It's definitely going down in history what this festival's going to do." During her set, Langley performed a series of her songs including "Weren't for the Wind," "Country Boy's Dream Girl," "Nicotine" and "Hungover." Later that afternoon, she came out during Riley Green's set for a performance of their award-winning collaboration "You Look Like You Love Me" and "Don't Mind If I Do." Last week, Langley was the most-nominated artist at the ACM Awards. She took home five trophies for New Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Music Event of the Year and Visual Media of the Year. She also took the stage with Miranda Lambert to perform her 2005 hit "Kerosene." Reflecting on that moment, Langley says Lambert has always served as an inspiration. "There's a ridiculous amount of highlights of that whole entire week," she says of the ACM Awards. She continues, "But performing 'Kerosene,' I already knew that I was going to do 'Weren't for the Wind' but when we got asked to do 'Kerosene,' God, I was like, 'It just made the night so much better for me because I got that initial fear out' — and that was our first time performing together. It felt like a 12-year-old kid living her biggest dream ever on stage." Growing up, Langley admired the "Bluebird" singer for her strength and independence. "She is who she is and she doesn't apologize for that," Langley explains of Lambert. "She stands up for herself, but she also stands up for others she believes in. And that's just always been apparent by watching her as a young artist. So I'm really grateful to get to work alongside her." On her collaboration with Bath & Body Works, Langley says the company's scents have always brought a feeling of memory and nostalgia. When asked what love smells like, Langley says "it depends on the day." "Sometimes it smells like mahogany tea, wood, kind of sexy. And then some days it smells like strawberry shortcake," she says. She concludes, "And let me tell you, some days it smells like rain. And that's just the truth." Read the original article on People

Miranda Lambert's mom, Bev, used to make the country superstar sit down at the computer and write blog posts for her website, back when she first starting releasing music. Lambert shared a hilarious video on her Instagram to her millions of followers across the world, where she went back and read aloud a blog post that she wrote for her website 20 years ago, on the week that she released her second single, "Kerosene." The video shows the "Run" singer looking back at this particular blog entry, and as she starts to read it, she is already chuckling at what she wrote 20 years ago. Lambert said, "This is a blog that I wrote on March 30, 2005 — yes, I used to write blogs." She then buckles up and says, "Here we go!" "Can't believe the record was No. 1! I mean, 'Me and Charlie Talking' wasn't even in the Top 20. It almost feels like all of this isn't really happening. Everything is going so fast, I hope I don't forget to enjoy it." You can tell from her vocal tone and her body language that at this point, Lambert was feeling the nostalgic memories from this moment to her core. "Through all of the business, I was trying to find something to take my mind off of everything," she continues. "It used to be that I would play my guitar and write, but it feels a little like work nowadays." Even though Lambert was still wet behind the ears and a rookie in the country music game at that point, you can see that she took her singing and songwriting very seriously. But she still needed a new outlet. "I decided to go to Walmart and buy a coloring book and a 64-pack of crayons," she reads, and just reading that back out loud makes Lambert giggle. "That did the trick, I found my new therapy," the singer states. She concludes, "Later in life, Tito's was added," meaning she still colors in coloring books to escape, but nowadays with a little vodka infused with the fun. Miranda Lambert paid $3.4 million in 2016 for her rural estate an hour south of Nashville, which comprises 400 acres of lush green farmland. The property includes rolling hills, rustic living spaces and an enormous horse barn, as well as three residences, a lake with a boathouse and a six-bay garage. There are 75 acres of fenced-in pastureland, as well as lighted walking trails that wind through the woods leading to a pavilion, with seating for 60 for private concerts. Miranda Lambert Recreates Her Iconic 'Kerosene' Look 20 Years Later

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." As someone who frequently watched music videos on CMT while growing up, I'll never forget the first time I saw Miranda Lambert walking down a long winding road in her Mama Tried tank top, with her hoop earrings dangling alongside her messy long blonde hair, threatening her no-good-ex-boyfriend with a tin of kerosene in hand. I don't think I had ever seen anyone look so cool. The music video for her hit song "Kerosene" became iconic, and teenage girls everywhere wanted to look as cool and pissed off as Lambert did. Since the song came out in 2005, the country singer's look was very reminiscent of the grungy-glam trend at the time with messy, wavy hair and smoky makeup. With a little bit of Texas added to it, of course. Now, twenty years later, the country singer is celebrating the title track that helped launch her career. She released the album on vinyl for the first time and has been sharing fun mementos on social media from that time in her career, including a new take on the iconic "Kerosene" music video look.$31.99 at at She even shared a video of her hairstylist Johnny recreating the look with a little modern twist. First of all, he uses three different hot tools to get the messy, lived in waves. First up is the Trademark Beauty Hair Waver, he also uses the Olivia Garden 1 Inch Curling Iron, and the 1/4 Hot Tools Curling Iron, which is incredibly hard to come by these days. So, I recommend the 1/2 Hot Tools Curling Iron, or the Hot & Hotter 1/4 Curling Iron to get the same kind of look. However, Johnny says the waver and a small curling iron should get the job done. And to get the "Big 'ole Texas hair" as Lambert called it, Johnny mentioned using a volumizing product to prep your hair before. Then, curl a small piece of your hair with the 1/4-inch curling iron, wrap the top half of your hair one way around the iron, take it out, and wrap the bottom half of the same piece of hair the opposite way. Then, use your fingers to pull on the end of your hair a bit to let the curl fall out a little. Repeat this throughout the rest of your hair until you get the "Kerosene" look. Curling your hair this way creates a cool texture and gives a more natural and messy look. I'm assuming Johnny incorporates the Hair Waver every now and then to mix up the texture even more and create different style of waves all around her hair. Johnny also used the Oribe Dry Texture Spray and Oribe Beach Spray in Miranda's hair and gave it a bit of a zhuzh with his hands to make it even more messy. And don't forget to tease it to Jesus, y'all. Lambert has been rocking this throwback look for all kinds of events recently and fans are obsessed.. You can get all of the products mentioned and join in on the "Kerosene" fun, or just because you simply love the look like I do.$89.00 at at at at at at You Might Also Like 67 Best Gifts for Women That'll Make Her Smile The Best Pillows for Every Type of Sleeper

Rodney Atkins's 2006 Song 'Watching You' Gets an Emotional Update

When we think back on the early 2000s, a few country songs stand out. As much as we love the fierce nature of Miranda Lambert's 'Kerosene' and Carrie Underwood's 'Before He Cheats,' when it comes to heart-warming singles, 'Watching You' by Rodney Atkins has to be at the top of the list. And now, nearly 20 years after its initial release, the 56-year-old singer is dropping 'Watching You 2.0'—this time, with his son on back-up vocals. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rodney Atkins (@rodneyatkins) As a refresher, Rodney released 'Watching You,' a touching song inspired by his then-five-year-old son, Elijah, in 2006. As the story goes, Rodney found out that little Elijah had been singing his famous single, 'If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows),' in class. Upon realizing just how much his son picked up from day-to-day life, Rodney co-wrote 'Watching You' with Steve Dean and Brian White. Then, he turned it into a precious music video with Elijah in the starring role. Fast forward nearly two decades, and Rodney is bringing back the beloved track, this time with Elijah (now 23), singing the chorus. The rebooted single is set to release on Friday, May 23, and fans can hardly contain their excitement. 'I can't wait! This was and still is a fave song of mine! Can't wait for the 2.0 version,' one fan exclaimed in the comments section. 'Still better than any country song currently on the radio,' someone else commented. 'I am in love with this version! I grew up with the original, and I always thought it would be cool if his son sang the chorus! I'm so glad they made it happen! It's a beautiful moment,' another fan remarked. While some of Rodney's fans have a lot to say about Elijah's vocals, others made a point to commend Rodney on his parenting style. 'The thing I love about this is they are clearly not the same style at all, but his dad accepts that and [supports] him in this. So often, parents have a hard time accepting their kids' style differences. But he's like, nah, this kid may sing like Post Malone in a hay bale, but he's mine,' one fan commented.
