The Trailer Park singer, 36, took time away from prepping for her summer tour to serve as a guest judge for Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders auditions, and fans can't get enough of Musgraves' cheeky a matching Dallas Cowboys–themed crop top and leggings, the Rainbow singer and 17-time Grammy Award nominee strutted into auditions and turned on her heels to reveal two Dallas Cowboys logo stars on her backside. The Golden, TX native shimmied her stars for the adoring crowd before taking her seat at the judge's table. Fans adored the country star's cheeky entrance, with many rushing to the comment section. Even some of the aspiring DCC cheerleaders (that's Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, if you haven't binged the Netflix series about the iconic NFL cheerleaders) shared their thoughts. Kacey Musgraves is 'in a lot of pain' after breaking a rib
Kacey Musgraves has broken a rib after suffering a fall in Mexico. The 36-year-old singer has revealed via social media that she's "in a lot of pain" after she recently suffered a fall. Alongside an image of her X-ray, Kasey wrote on Instagram: "Sooo I'm in Mexico with a f****** broken rib. "Wednesday night it was raining and I was running to grab some towels and had an extremely hard fall on some very slick tile I didn't see. Thankful I didn't smack my head but I landed very very hard on my back left ribcage, and I broke rib number 6. "This s*** is no joke. I'm in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult but I'm managing and being well taken care of. (sic)" Kacey is currently unable to perform live because of her injury. The singer has also been forced to reschedule the live recording of a podcast. She continued: "There is no physical way I can get on a plane and fly back to Nashville for the @singforscience event with @paulstaments on Sunday at @theryman. I am extremely bummed to have to reschedule as I have been looking forward to this for months but there is literally no other option. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. (sic)" Kacey released her debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, in 2013, and she's subsequently become one of the biggest names in country music. The singer - who was born and raised in Texas - recently revealed that she loves taking her music overseas and engaging with her international fans. The Merry Go 'Round hitmaker told The Hollywood Reporter: "I'm going to South America, then Asia and Australia. "I'm playing Brazil for the first time. I know the energy and the fans there are unlike anywhere else. I'm playing this massive rodeo [Sao Paulo's Jaguariuna], which is really cool. Rodeo is huge in Brazil. "It's been really cool to see the rest of the world come to love country music, because, really, country is more about a mentality and an attitude versus geography. Real country music is based on real emotions all humans have, no matter where you're from."

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Deserve It All—and More
Well before the second season of America's Sweethearts premiered on Netflix this week, I knew what I wanted to say about it. In November, I'd spent a game day embedded with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders as the Cowboys played the Texans—though 'day' isn't exactly right. The squad worked for more than 12 hours straight, pulling a shift that stretched from Monday morning to the early hours of Tuesday. Sure, some of that time was spent on buses to and from the Star, the Cowboys' headquarters in Frisco, Texas, and some was spent on hair and makeup. (The cheerleaders are responsible for their own professional-level glam, which demands a lot of powder and a lot of time wielding a Dyson.) But most of those hours were spent dancing: 'Thunderstuck,' their pre-kick-off routine, involves both a 50-yard sprint in under eight seconds (in cowboy boots!) and chorus line jump splits. By the end of the night, the whole team was dripping in sweat and covered in blisters, their pantyhose ripped from their high kicks. Many required trainers for various muscle ailments, or to help wrap their ankles. There were dozens of ice packs, foam rollers, and empty Gatorade bottles scattered across the locker-room floor. But there would be no rest for the pom-pom weary: They had practice the next day, and the day after that. They had all the football games, the corporate shows, the press junkets, and the Cowboys Christmas Spectacular. They had major appearances with Kacey Musgraves, at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, and at Mike Tyson's fight with Jake Paul in Las Vegas. Netflix camera crews were everywhere, as was our team from Vogue. Everyone stood to profit from their glamorous image—everyone, that is, except for the cheerleaders themselves. Their pay was about $15 an hour and $500 for each appearance. Most had to support themselves with other jobs. They did not have health insurance. Once upon a time, that made a kind of sense. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader squad as we now know it came about in the 1970s. It was advertised as a part-time gig: You had a few practices during the week and performed during the Sunday games. Half a century later, between Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, Pro Bowls, and countless more events, the DCCC are working 30 to 40 hours a week for much of the year, and the Cowboys franchise is worth $11 billion dollars—three billion more than any other team in the National Football League. Their branding as 'America's team,' complete with an unabashed commitment to a stars-and-stripes, yeehaw aesthetic, has made their image endlessly exportable and mineable. Go anywhere in the world, and people know about the Dallas Cowboys—whether they're winning or not. (In 2024, their record was 7-10.)

Settle in if you watched season two of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in one sitting, and are impatiently waiting for Netflix to drop news about season three. Good news: we have spoilers. Turns out auditions and training camp for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are happening literally right now, and the DCC's official Instagram page has already revealed a) who all the rookies are, and b) who made it to training camp. First up: Kacey Musgraves joined the DCC as a judge during auditions, which, amazing. And the DCC went ahead and dropped a post revealing literally all the rookie candidates who made it through auditions: Plus, they shared a group pic from this year's training camp: We also know that Dayton auditioned again this season, and—based on her not being in the above group photo—was once again cut. She commented on a fan's post about the sad news, writing "It wasn't in the cards for me, but I'm proud of how much i've grown. I feel it's important to note I did EVERYTHING they asked of me and tried my absolute best to fit their mold. I'm not wanted there and I'm hoping this takes me to where I truly belong!" Dayton's mum Shelly (who works for DCC) also spoke out, saying "Dayton's mom here…I don't usually comment on any posts regarding her journey, but your words are kind. Her light is bright and will shine elsewhere! She's beautiful, talented but more importantly, she has a soft, humble spirit. She took the advice to train and do all the things asked of her. She's stronger for doing so, even if the results weren't in her favor. God has something better for her, we will wait to see where He leads. 🤍" TBD on if Netflix is filming this season's training camp and auditions, but fingers crossed because gonna need Kelli and Judy to explain themselves re Dayton not making the team!
