11 girls from Kasturba school clear NEET exam after receiving free coaching

RANCHI: As many as 11 girls from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Karra in Maoist hotbed Khunti, have cleared National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). This is the first time that so many girls studying in any KGBV school in the state have cleared the prestigious national-level JEE Main exam. In addition to that, one girl from the CM School of Excellence of the district has also cleared this prestigious exam. Interestingly, all of them have achieved this success in their first attempt. Notably, the district administration is running the 'Sampoorna Shiksha Kavach' programme to prepare the girl students for medical and engineering at KGBV Karra and Kalamati, respectively. Many of the girls at both the centres have made this campaign meaningful by passing the medical and engineering exams. All these girls were provided with coaching under the 'Sampoorna Shiksha Kavach' campaign run at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya at Karra by Khunti District Administration.

Kurnool: Students must become game changers by embracing innovative thinking and using technology to achieve their goals, said Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing, TG Bharath. He was speaking at the Shining Stars awards ceremony held at Pushpa Raj Function Hall, Peddapadu Road on Monday, where meritorious students from Class 10 and Intermediate were felicitated. He said that the State government has taken a significant step in encouraging academic excellence by presenting talented students—who performed well in the public board exams—with a Shining Stars Award, a cash prize of Rs.20,000, and a certificate of excellence. He advised parents not to impose their own aspirations on their children but to support them in pursuing their passions. MLA G Charitha (Panyam) lauded the success of government school students who scored on par with private school peers. She cited the examples of Dr BR Ambedkar and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who rose from humble beginnings to win the Bharat Ratna, emphasizing that poverty is no barrier to education. She reiterated that the government is offering numerous educational opportunities, quality teaching, and infrastructure support. She highlighted government investments in infrastructure such as Rs 5 crore sanctioned for KGBV schools in four mandals of Panyam constituency; Rs 3 crore allocated for renovation of BC and SC hostels; Rs 10 lakh CSR fund approved for the development of the IIT Ambedkar NEET Academy in Chinnatekur. Joint Collector Dr B Navya stated that it is commendable how students, despite personal and financial hardships, have crossed a milestone by excelling in board exams. She urged teachers to continue offering competitive coaching so that more students from government schools can secure top ranks in entrance exams. At the conclusion of the event, awards were presented to 142 students from government and private schools who excelled in the Class 10 board exams. The programme was attended by RDO Sandeep Kumar, DEO Samuel Paul, DVEO Sudhir, students, parents, teachers, and other officials.

Ranchi: Ranchi district administration, in coordination with the district welfare department, rolled out a karate training programme for the students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) under the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana'. In the first phase, 350 girl s of KGBV, Kanke, were given training and 23 of them received their orange belt on Wednesday. It will now be expanded to all KGBV schools, said officials. A student of KGBV-Kanke, Anjali Ganguli, said, "This programme is a powerful step toward fostering strength, awareness, and independence in us. We gain courage to face challenges." Self-defence and physical training programmes such as karate, martial arts, judo, and taekwondo are being provided to girl students from classes VI to XII in 60 govt schools across the district. KGBVs are new inclusion, said sources. These sessions are being carried out under the Rani Laxmi Bai Training Scheme, named in honour of the legendary freedom fighter and warrior queen. 80K girls from 746 KGBV schools in U.P. to be trained in financial literacy & digital skills

Nearly 80,000 girl students of 746 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) of the state will now be given training in financial literacy and digital skills. This training will be made available free of cost on the online 'Passport to Earning (P2E)' platform in collaboration with UNICEF, where the girl students will be able to earn certificates, a government spokesperson said. In line with the spirit of the New Education Policy-2020, this initiative will not only connect girls with practical education but will also make them self-reliant. The girl students will now be proficient in essential skills of the 21st century such as digital literacy and financial decision making. Then digital literacy training will be completed by October 30 and its consolidated report will be prepared and reviewed by November 10, 2025. Technical assistance will be received from UNICEF and Samagra Shiksha at every stage and the district coordinator and warden will regularly monitor the programme. Available on the online platform with 'video, practice and evaluation This training programme is available online on the platform with videos, practice and evaluation. There are 12 chapters in financial literacy and 8 chapters in digital efficiency. Each course is about 10 hours long. Accountability fixed, honor will be given for excellent performance The responsibility of this programme will be to the warden of the school and the concerned nodal teacher and teacher. The District Coordinator (Girl Education) and the District Basic Education Officer will monitor it regularly. The best performing schools will be honored at the district level. HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education on Tuesday declared the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) results, with girls once again outperforming boys and the state registering a slight improvement in pass percentages compared to the previous year. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced the results. A total of 9,97,012 students appeared for the first and second-year examinations this year, 4,88,430 in the first year and 5,08,582 in the second year. The first-year pass percentage stood at 66.89% in the general category and 57.68% in the vocational category, making the total pass percentage 65.96%. Girls continued to outperform boys with a pass percentage of 73.83%, while the pass percentage for boys stood at 57.83%. The second-year pass percentage was 71.37% in the general category and 45.55% in the vocational category, making the total pass percentage 65.65%. Replicating the pattern of the first year, girls outdid boys in the second-year result as well. The total pass percentage of girls was 74.21%, against 57.31% of boys passing the exam. Both the first and second-year results showed a slight improvement compared to the previous year's results. For the first year, there was an increase of around 6% in the pass percentage this year compared to 2024 which recorded 61.06%, whereas the second-year result showed around a 2% increase over last year's 69.46%. In terms of the statewide highest pass performance, in the first-year results, Medchal topped with a pass percentage of 77.21%, followed by Rangareddy at 76.36% and Komaram Bheem Asifabad at 70.52%. In the second-year results, Mulugu recorded the highest pass percentage of 81.06%, followed by Komaram Bheem Asifabad at 80.24% and Medchal at 77.91%. Mahbubabad at 48.43% and Kamareddy at 56.38% scored the lowest pass percentage in the first and second-year results, respectively. Hyderabad stood seventh and 23rd in the first and second-year results, respectively, out of the 33 districts in the state. Social welfare, KGBV and residential junior colleges performed considerably well in both the first and second year exams. The candidates who wish to apply for recounting or re-verification-cum-scanned copy of the evaluated answer script have to pay the online fee on the official website from April 23 to April 30. The exam fee can be paid at the respective colleges from April 23 to April 30. The supplementary theory examinations will be held from May 22 in two sessions and practical examinations will be held from June 3 to June 6.
