Superior Spirit club wins KDMA League
Kanpur: A stellar century from Mayank Tiwari powered Superior Spirit club to a 62-run victory against Kanpur South club in the knock-out match of the KDMA league held at the HAL ground on Thursday. Superior Spirit, batting first, posted 263 for 5, with Mayank Tiwari remaining unbeaten on 173. Dhananjay contributed 59 and Jai Prakash added 21 runs. For Kanpur South, Ashutosh Pandey took 2 for 44 and Misham Abbas picked up 2 for 63. In reply, Kanpur South were bowled out for 201, with Shivanmshu Sachan scoring 51 and Ayush Pathak making 47. Dhananjay Yadav took 3 for 30 and Nitin Tomar took 3 for 54. In other knock-out encounters, KDMA, Spark club and Prince club also progressed after defeating their opponents. At Kanpur South Ground, KDMA defeated PAC by 25 runs. KDMA posted 297 for 7, with Sudhanshu top-scoring with 120, Satyam Dixit making 45, Sumit Rathore 26, Satnam Singh 23, and Mahi Katiyar 24. Kanpur: Opener Harshwardhan's unbeaten knock of 121 runs helped Achintya XI to grab Sigma Griplock trophy under floodlight defeating Liver Pool XI by 49 runs in the final of JNT – 12 cricket tournament concluded here at Kanpur South ground on Sunday into bat, Achintya XI set a target of 198 runs for Liverpool XI. In response, Liverpool XI could collect 148 runs in stipulated 25 overs. Viraj Pal and Huzaifa Khan repaired the early damage Liverpool had suffered. Dhairya Agarwal broke their union claiming Viraj Pal on 41 and Abhinav sent back Khan as a result Liverpool was reduced to 113runs. Liverpool XI in finals of U-12 cricket tournament
Kanpur: Opener Viraj Pal and Anant K Mishra's fine half-centuries, along with their 134-run partnership, enabled Liverpool XI to beat strong title contender IPM Careers XI by 8 wickets and sail into the final of the JNT U-12 cricket tournament being played here at Kanpur South ground under floodlights on Saturday evening. Chasing a target of 151 runs, Liverpool XI achieved victory losing only two wickets. Viraj and Anant provided the required and sound start to their team. Viraj faced 39 balls for 57 runs, while Anant faced 54 balls for 65 runs. Earlier, IPM Careers, deciding to bat first, scored 151 runs. In the opening of the innings, they suffered a setback when opener Ayush Chaudhary and Amrit Sachan were bowled by Rajveer Agarwal.
