Marvel unveils new Fantastic Four popcorn bucket – and it gives us our best look yet at the titular team's ship Excelsior (AKA the one that's not in Thunderbolts*)
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Move over, Galactus! Marvel is clearly hoping fans can stretch their budgets to two popcorn buckets when seeing The Fantastic Four: First Steps, now that it's unveiled a new design centered on Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards. Not only does the second bucket offer up some cool retro lettering, Richard's elongated arms, and our best look yet at the superheroes' suits, we also get a great glimpse at Excelsior, the First Family's ship. Due to its 'F4' emblem and similar silhouette, many assumed that their spacecraft was the one spotted in the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene, but Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige later squashed the theory. "Their ship is the Excelsior, and there is a Fantastic Four ship entering the MCU... But I'm not sure they're the same ship," he told Empire Magazine (via Culture Crave). On the bucket, the differences are clearer, particularly when it comes to the boosters and landing legs. Consider us intrigued! Also starring Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Vanessa Kirby, The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases on July 25, 2025. The titular team are set to face off against Silver Surfer (Julia Garner) and Galactus (Ralph Ineson) in the flick, though it's no surprise we should expect some multiversal shenanigans, too, given the fact that they're clearly not on the same timeline as Captain America, Yelena Bolova, and the rest of the MCU's big players currently. While we wait, check out our guide to all the upcoming Marvel movies and shows on the way, as well as our guide to how to watch the Marvel movies in order.

Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle to Star in Netflix's Wild Ride Through the FTX Collapse — GeekTyrant
Netflix is diving into one of the biggest financial implosions of the decade with The Altruists , the upcoming limited series based on the infamous collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, and it's landed two sharp leads with Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle. The series is going to take us on a twisted, high-stakes journey through the crypto jungle, and it sounds unmissable. Garner will play Caroline Ellison, while Boyle steps into the role of Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced founder of FTX. The series follows 'Sam Bankman-Fried and his girlfriend, Caroline Ellison, two hyper-smart, ambitious young idealists who tried to remake the global financial system in the blink of an eye – and then seduced, coaxed, and teased each other into stealing $8 billion.' The series is described as the wild romance of Gen Z's own Bonnie and Clyde. Graham Moore ( The Imitation Game, The Outfit ) and Jacqueline Hoyt ( The Underground Railroad, Dietland ) will co-showrun and executive produce the series. James Ponsoldt ( The Spectacular Now, Daisy Jones & The Six ) is on board to direct the pilot and executive produce. This is also a Higher Ground Productions project, with Michelle and Barack Obama's production company teaming up with New York Magazine/Vox Media Studios, plus producers Vinnie Malhotra, Jessie Dicovitsky, Tonia Davis, Lauren Morelli, and Julia Garner herself. The series is titled The Altruists, and that name alone has a dose of irony sharp enough to cut through the blockchain. These aren't just financial whiz kids, they're portrayed as cultish visionaries, seducing each other with idealism and dragging everyone else down in a mess of fraud, fantasy, and financial free fall. This isn't the first FTX-inspired project to pop up, but with this cast, this team, and the full Netflix muscle behind it, The Altruists is shaping up to be the definitive dramatization of the Sam Bankman-Fried saga. It's part cautionary tale, part psychological thriller, and possibly the most romanticized $8 billion scam you'll ever watch. So if you're into morally complicated tech disasters, millennial ambition run amok, this is one to put on your radar. Source: Deadline

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Actor Joseph Quinn Reveals Third Villain Who Will Star in the Film — GeekTyrant
We are just over a month away from the highly-anticipated Marvel movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps . It will officially induct Marvel's first family into the MCU, introducing us to Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal); Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby); Johnny Storm/The Human Torch (Joseph Quinn); and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). They will go up against the Universe's biggest bad, Galactus, who is being portrayed by actor Ralph Ineson, heralded by Julia Garner's Silver Surfer. While that seems like a big enough opponent, Joseph Quinn has revealed that the film will feature yet another villain. Quinn appeared at CCXPMX 25 this past weekend, and via a video shared on X by CultureCrave (via SuperHeroHype), he confirmed that Mole Man will be in the movie. The actor explained: 'We've got a lot of fantastic characters in there. There is also Mole Man, who is wonderful in it, but Galactus is the big bad. He's the big, evil, planet-gobbling space god…He's played brilliantly by the wonderful Ralph [Ineson]. 'And Silver Surfer, played by the brilliant Julia Garner. We were very lucky to work with her, she's excellent in the film. There are lots of brilliant characters in this film, that's for sure.' There have been rumors that Mole Man would appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps , though there has been no official confirmation until now, as the character hasn't been seen in any of the trailers. The popular theory online is that Paul Walter Hauser could be playing Mole Man, as his casting in the film has been confirmed, but it has not yet been announced who he's playing. 'Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet,' the official synopsis for the movie reads. The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025. What do you think of this addition to the story?

Let's hope Madonna's Netflix series includes her infamous celeb feuds
After more than 40 years in the spotlight – during which she has given countless interviews, invited cameras backstage in the doco Madonna: Truth Or Dare and shared intimacies in the glossy hardcover book Sex – it's hard to imagine Madonna has anything left to reveal in her upcoming Netflix series. Originally planned as a biopic starring Ozark's Julia Garner, the project has pivoted to become a TV series, with Madge now reportedly in talks with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy. Garner is still in the mix to play the young Madonna if schedules align. To secure her role as the Material Girl, Garner beat out stiff competition from the likes of Florence Pugh, Emma Laird (Mayor Of Kingstown) and Euphoria's Alexa Demie at a gruelling audition referred to as 'Madonna bootcamp'. Even the Queen of Pop's own daughter Lourdes Leon was in the running. Explaining why she has decided to tell her story on screen, Madonna said in a statement: 'I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world.' Of all the highs and lows of Madonna's much-dissected life, one chapter that would make particularly juicy fodder in the new series is the disintegration of her friendship with actor and wellness empire founder Gwyneth Paltrow. For a brief window in the early 2000s – when both women were married to Brits (Madonna to director Guy Ritchie and Paltrow to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin) and raising their young families in the UK – the A-list expats were the closest of friends. The powerful pals were regularly sighted giggling together at industry events or headed to workout sessions with trainer Tracy Anderson, in their haphazard but luxe exercise gear and matching Kabbalah red string bracelets. Until suddenly they weren't. Before their falling out, the Goop guru gushed that Madonna was like a mentor and older sister, who had taught her the art of saying no. But by 2010, Paltrow was moaning to British Vogue about the cavalier way Madonna treated Anderson, sniping: 'She keeps people waiting – it takes up your whole day.' A year later, Paltrow posted on her Goop blog about an 'insufferable' friend who left her feeling 'drained, empty and belittled'. This was never confirmed to relate to Madge, but their friendship fizzled soon after. Madonna has remained tight-lipped on the not-so-conscious uncoupling – but she also has form for relationships that burn hot and fast. In the 1980s it was actress and comedian Sandra Bernhard who had the lead role as Madonna's closest confidante. The pair appeared regularly in the tabloids at the time, and the singer even famously crashed Bernhard's 1988 interview with David Letterman, where the duo danced and flirted with the bemused host while dressed in identical outfits. Decades later, Madonna's high wattage celebrity having far eclipsed Bernhard's fading fame, the Roseanne star reflected that she didn't enjoy the pop diva's level of visibility, and needed space to evolve as a person. 'I guess for a while we had a real friendship, but it's hard for somebody like [Madonna],' Bernhard mused on the Hot Takes & Deep Dives podcast in 2021. 'She doesn't really want somebody around who reflects too much of who she is. Therefore, her relationships just don't last.' While lasting love may have evaded Madge, her career success endures – thanks to her unmatchable capacity to evolve and push the envelope as an artist. Whether she's Voguing in her iconic cone bra or outfitted in dominatrix black to kiss Britney Spears on stage, Madonna insists the aim of the game has never been reinvention. 'What I have been doing, in my opinion, is slowly revealing myself,' she said at a press conference promoting her 1998 Ray Of Light album. 'Taking off the layers and getting closer and closer to who I really am.' Madonna: Live: A montage of Madonna memories, celebrating her most famous interviews and live acts, including 'Vogue' being performed in full Marie Antionette garb. Unauthorised Biographies With Peter Graves: Madonna is one chapter in a four-part series of celebrity profiles.

Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle to star in Netflix's The Altruists
Julia Garner will continue to come for your money in a recurring collaboration with Netflix after Ozark and Inventing Anna in The Altruists. In the new limited series, she will star alongside Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air) as the lead. The eight-episode limited series is based on the crypto fraud committed by Sam Bankman-Fried, a man who was once dubbed the poster boy of crypto, and Caroline Ellison, who will be played by Anthony Boyle and Julia Garner, respectively. In 2022, Bankman-Fried was arrested in the Bahamas and subsequently extradited to the US to face charges of fraud committed through his cryptocurrency exchange and hedge fund company, FTX. Ellison was also arrested for fraud.
