Some felt that the move wasn't necessary after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years, but many others felt that despite that, a change was needed. 'A different direction was taken but y'all should be appreciative for what he did for the team and organization.' Advertisement Hart saw his best individual seasons under Thibodeau's coaching. Thibodeau trusted Hart seemingly more than any other player, playing him more minutes than anyone else and believing that his all-around impact made a huge difference on the court. Hart thrived under Thibodeau Hart had a strong 2024-25 season, averaging 13.6 points and career-highs in rebounds (9.6) and assists (5.9). He was one of the Knicks' most impactful players, bringing energy and hustle when the team needed that kind of presence. Thibodeau notably benched Hart in favor of Mitchell Robinson during the Eastern Conference Finals, and there is a possibility that the next head coach will want to make that new starting five a regular thing. Stunning gymnast Suni Lee gives two-word response to taunt about OG Anunoby dating rumors

Gymnast Suni Lee gave a hysterical response on Saturday to a heckle referencing the rumors of a relationship between her and Knicks star OG Anunoby. The lighthearted suggestions of a romance between the pair began back in April, when Lee was spotted sitting courtside for a Knicks-Suns game in which Anunoby ultimately scored 32 points. Actress Anne Hathaway was also present at that game. From there, some Knicks fans became convinced that Lee (who attended several playoff games too) was something of a good luck charm for Anuboby, with his teammate Josh Hart even saying on his 'Roommates Show' podcast that the Knicks 'need' Lee and Hathaway at every playoff matchup. Lee was talking about her Knicks fandom this weekend at Fanatics Fest when a fan interrupted her by shouting out Anunoby's name. 'OG!', he yelled. Lee looked a bit stunned as she laughed the comment off, before telling the fan that the comment was 'out of pocket.' Fan: 'OG!' Suni Lee: 'Outta pocket.' 💀 (via @FiresideKnicks, @FanaticsFest) — Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) June 21, 2025 And some fans were on the gold medalist's side as they reacted to the remark. 'She was so embarrassed,' one wrote on X. 'Why they gotta do that,' a second said. And a third joked: 'OG finna hit her up after this.' Lee and Anunoby posed for some pictures after the Knicks beat the Magic on December 3, though the fellow athletes have not actually been spotted outside of Madison Square Garden together. Nonetheless, Lee became a Knicks fan favorite as they had their best postseason run in 25 years and went to the Eastern Conference Finals. Unfortunately, the Knicks lost to the Pistons in the first round on April 21 when Lee was seen sitting on Celebrity Row. Anunoby had a modest 10 points and shot 0-4 from three in that game. The Knicks also lost with Lee in attendance in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Pacers, as Indiana pulled off a stunning comeback to win 138-135 in overtime. Anunoby performed better in that game, as he scored 16 points in the loss. While London-born Anunoby had an impressive year for the Knicks, Lee captured her second Olympic gold medal for Team USA last summer. After previously winning an all-around gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she claimed another in the team event in Paris

Josh Hart thinks Knicks ‘should have' beat Pacers

The post Josh Hart thinks Knicks 'should have' beat Pacers appeared first on ClutchPoints. The New York Knicks seemed destined to go all the way in the NBA Playoffs. However, the Knicks were upset by the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals in six games. Advertisement Shooting guard Josh Hart still maintains that the Knicks would have won, per Hoops Hype. On the Roommates Show with Jalen Brunson, Hart said part of the reason why the Knicks lost was by underestimating the Pacers. 'We still think we can beat them, and we probably- and we should have beat them, but…that's why you can't like underrate them cuz…they were playing extremely well in the playoffs,' Hart said. 'So…them being a four-seed and all that, like, it's kind of out the window because it's just how you're playing now. It's not like what it was in the regular season.' The Knicks entered the series as the favorites. The trifecta of Hart, Brunson, and Karl Anthony-Towns were looked at as the established team. On the flip side, the Pacers were the young, up-and-coming team. Ultimately, New York was denied the chance to reach their first NBA Finals since 1999, plus their first title since 1973. Immediately after losing, the Knicks abruptly fired coach Tom Thibedeau, leaving the franchise in a state of disarray. Advertisement But in truth, it was New York that was responsible for their demise. What did the Knicks do? The Knicks had all the tools in their toolbox to defeat the Pacers. But ultimately, they were malfunctioning at the worst possible times. The Pacers' defense was overpowering. New York couldn't match their opponent's physicality. Then, of course, turnovers turned the tide. New York had far more turnovers, which Indiana capitalized off of in significant ways. In the pivotal Game 6, the Knicks committed 18 turnovers, which the Pacers turned into 34 points. Jalen Brunson gets brutally honest on Tom Thibodeau after Knicks firing

The post Jalen Brunson gets brutally honest on Tom Thibodeau after Knicks firing appeared first on ClutchPoints. New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson offered a heartfelt reflection on the team's decision to part ways with head coach Tom Thibodeau, praising the veteran coach's impact on his personal and professional development. Brunson shared his thoughts on the latest episode of The Roommates Show alongside teammate Josh Hart and co-host Matt Hillman. Advertisement 'This is my first firing,' Brunson said. 'Obviously, I've known him my entire life, but I remember like having conversations and moments with him when I was in the eighth grade when he was in Chicago. Just to see where we are now – helped me become a two-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA. The things he's done for me that obviously, individually that I'm so grateful for just because he had the confidence in me that I knew I had, but it's great to see someone push it, pushing me to be better.' Jalen Brunson credits Tom Thibodeau for career growth after firing Geoff Burke-Imagn Images Brunson emphasized his appreciation for Thibodeau's belief in him throughout their time together. Advertisement 'Obviously, I have my dad and he believes in me more than anyone, and my mom believes me more than anyone, but to have like Thibs do what he did for my career, I'm just so thankful and grateful for,' he added. 'Not enough things to be said about what he's meant to myself, my career.' Thibodeau was dismissed last Tuesday following the Knicks' Eastern Conference Finals loss to the Indiana Pacers in six games. His five-year tenure included a 226–174 regular-season record and four playoff appearances, culminating in the franchise's deepest postseason run since 2000. Brunson, 28, signed with New York in 2022 after a breakout playoff performance with the Dallas Mavericks, who drafted him 33rd overall in 2018. Since joining the Knicks, he has developed into one of the league's premier guards. This past season, Brunson averaged 26.0 points, 7.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 48.8% from the field and 38.3% from three. He earned his second consecutive All-Star and All-NBA selections and was named the NBA's Clutch Player of the Year. Josh Hart praises Thibodeau's impact, notes uncertainty as Knicks begin coaching search Josh Hart, who has played under several head coaches in his career, also weighed in on Thibodeau's departure. Advertisement 'Thibs was my sixth coach in eight years,' Hart said. 'The NBA coaching profession… it's tough. Whenever you don't finish how you wanted or expected, like I said there's always going to be changes. That was a tough one. I just think there should be nothing but praise for him and his time in New York.' Hart, 30, joined the Knicks during the 2022–23 season and enjoyed a career year in his second full season with the team. He averaged 13.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game across 77 appearances, playing a career-high 37.6 minutes per night. Looking ahead, Hart acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the team's next hire. 'Now there's a coaching search and everyone on Twitter has their own opinions on who should be hired, who shouldn't be hired, who wants to be hired,' he said.
