A pivotal part of the Spartan football program over the last four years has been linebacker Darius Snow, who has been beloved by fans, and a presence on social media, has made his mark on and off the field for Michigan State. Now, for the 2025 season, it appears that Snow is going to be making waves around the program once again. In a partnership with Riddell Sports and the Spartan equipment team, Snow will be dawning a new look in 2025. A "Snow Mask" has been added the Spartan senior's helmet, a cool design on his facemask to give the linebacker a cool, personal look. The Michigan State Spartans have upped the ante in regards to their recruitment class of 2026. They now rest at No. 26 overall in the NCAA with their current group of commits. Advertisement Looking well ahead to the group of rising juniors colleges have recently been allowed to legally contact, head coach Jonathan Smith had a class of 2027 commit to put him and the Spartans in good standings for the future. But it's not always smooth sailing, and the Spartans found that out the hard way. Michigan State Spartans head coach Jonathan Capture The four-star prospect from Tustin, Calif. is a well-sought out recruit from his class. Ranked No. 201 overall, No. 21 among safeties, and No. 19 out of California, it's no surprise that Khalil Terry already received 32 offers. Terry committed to the Spartans on Dec. 1, 2024, but with former cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin leaving for UCLA, Michigan State now lacked a strong tie to Terry's home state. Advertisement "With so many options, and after discussing it with my family, I have decided to de-commit from Michigan State. We feel it is in my best interest to open up my recruitment and take a look at all of my options," he wrote in a post on X. "I only get one shot at this, so I want to make sure I'm making the right decision for the long term." Of his 32 offers as of now, the Spartans will have conference competition with Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State, USC, Washington, and Nebraska for the four-star safety. And despite hitting West Virginia this past weekend he quickly made the decision to go public with his Michigan State commitment, announcing his decision within a day after the visit in Morgantown ended. The class of 2026 recruiting class for the Michigan State Spartans is heavy on offense with only four of its 12 recruits playing on the defensive side of the ball. Advertisement Looking to shift that trend, the Spartans extended an offer to a cornerback from Stuart, Fla. Michigan State's secondary coach Blue King/Lansing State Journal/USA TODAY NETWORK Amarion Queen, the 3-star cornerback from Martin County High School, posted to X with the news of the Spartans' interest after his conversation with secondary coach Blue Adams. Initially, Queen was committed to USF, but just recently reopened his commitment on June 7. Michigan State is one of the two top teams eyeing the cornerback. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he's the No. 120 cornerback overall and No. 170 out of Florida. While these spots might not be impressive, Michigan State's defensive class of recruits is only slowly piecing together. Head coach Jonathan Smith's recruiting resume is also just starting to grow without suffering any decommitments. Advertisement Outside of cornerback, Queen also plays wide receiver at Martin County. He totaled 413 yards on 18 catches with five touchdowns. On the defensive end, he totaled 22 tackles, five pass break-ups, and three interceptions. Queen would be joining the other 3-star secondaries, K.J. Deriso, Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy, and Brayden Thomas. Per Michigan State Spartans On SI, a group of four to five secondary defenders is Michigan State's goal with this recruiting class. It will be crucial for Smith and Adams to schedule a visit for Queen in East Lansing. Currently, the Spartans are up against Purdue, the other likely home for the cornerback.
