Saudi Ambassador Presents Credentials to Uruguay

Micheal Martin to attend major North-South business conference
Mr Martin will address the Joint Business Council All-island Business Conference in Dundalk on Thursday. The conference is centred around protecting all-island business in a new global environment, with heightened geopolitical disruption. The event will bring together more than 150 business leaders, stakeholders and public policymakers to focus on the 'interconnected and cost-effective ways that businesses operate on an all-island basis'. The conference is jointly held by businesses representative groups the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (Ibec). They said businesses across the island are eager to see aligned policy support from both the UK and Irish governments that unlocks economic opportunities and broadens the benefits of cross-border cooperation. According to Ibec and the CBI, more must be done to strengthen and future-proof the all-island economy by enhancing collaboration around trade, infrastructure, sustainability, workforce integration, private investment and long-term resilience. Danny McCoy, CEO of Ibec, said: 'The restoration of the North-South Ministerial Council has cleared the way for improved cooperation across the island. 'However, the rise in global uncertainty stemming from US trade and tariff policies and growing geopolitical disruption means the all-island economy must focus on building resilience and deepening collaboration.' Rain Newton-Smith, chief executive of the CBI, said the conference comes at a critical time for businesses across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the EU. She added: 'The disruptive impact of tariffs, tax retaliation, and a changing global order has only reinforced the urgent need to strengthen cross-border economic ties on the island of Ireland. 'In the current climate, policy stability and certainty are not optional but are prerequisites for investment in sectors that matter most to both of our economies, from manufacturing and agri-food to life sciences.

Bahrain, Saudi boost integration
TDT | Manama Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are reinforcing efforts to deepen economic integration, as His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met with the Saudi-Bahraini Joint Business Council and H.E. Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister praised the Joint Business Council for enhancing bilateral coordination in investment and economic fields, citing its critical role in driving shared development objectives between the two Gulf neighbours. Strategic backing HRH affirmed that the long-standing Bahrain-Saudi partnership continues to be strengthened through the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The meeting also underscored the strategic backing of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, who supports efforts to fortify regional cooperation and joint investment initiatives. HRH Prince Salman highlighted the pivotal role of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council in aligning economic priorities and furthering the mutual interests of both nations. H.E. Al-Sudairi expressed appreciation for Bahrain's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and conveyed his best wishes for the Kingdom's continued growth and prosperity. Also present at the meeting were HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, along with several senior officials.

Bahrain, Saudi push strategic Economic Partnership

The meeting brought together ministers, diplomats and business leaders from both nations, reflecting the intensifying drive to harmonise commercial frameworks under Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. Shared path forward H.E. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Bahrain's Minister of Industry and Commerce, described the bilateral relationship as a unique model of Gulf integration that transcends borders. He noted the Kingdom's enhanced investment landscape and welcomed the decision to treat Bahraini products as local within the Saudi market, calling it a 'landmark enabler' of economic fusion. Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain H.E. Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi echoed the call for joint execution, saying the council is one of the arms through which the aspirations of both leaderships can be transformed into sustainable economic growth.

Egypt, Czech Republic explore trade and investment opportunities

During the meeting, Afifi outlined the key steps taken by the Egyptian government to improve the investment climate and attract foreign capital. He highlighted the availability of diverse investment opportunities across multiple sectors, supported by major national infrastructure projects and the establishment of specialized industrial zones, all contributing to facilitating both domestic and international trade. The ambassador stressed the importance of building on the current growth in trade volume between the two countries and maintaining the momentum through regular visits by business delegations, joint trade and investment events, and consistent promotion of investment opportunities. He also underscored the value of existing institutional frameworks such as the Joint Economic Committee and the Joint Business Council. Zajíček affirmed the strong interest of Czech companies already operating in Egypt in expanding their presence and investments. He also noted growing interest from new Czech businesses in entering the Egyptian market, citing the attractive incentives provided by the Egyptian government and the country's strategic position as a gateway to Arab and African markets through its network of regional free trade agreements.
