Fourteen-man Dublin stun Limerick to reach semis
Dublin overcame the setback of losing Chris Crummey through a red card in the first half to stun Limerick 2-24 to 0-28 at Croke Park and set up an All-Ireland Hurling semi-final with Kilkenny. Crummey was dismissed 15 minutes in after catching Gearoid Hegarty with an elbow but the Dubs still led 0-15 to 0-12 at the unanswered points helped Limerick into a 0-19 to 0-18 lead, but eight minutes after the resumption two quickfire goals within the space of a minute from John Hetherton and Cian O'Sullivan put their side back in the driving seat with a five-point - whose Munster reign was ended by Cork earlier this month - fought back to reduce the deficit to a single point but Dublin rallied and held fast to secure a famous victory and a place in the last managed to keep their noses in front in the early stages but Crummey's dismissal appeared to give the underdogs added incentive, with Fergal Whitely's point drawing them level at 10 points points in a row moved Dublin five in front, before their opponents pointed twice to narrow their arrears to two after a pulsating first margin between the sides was still three points when a run of four consecutive points saw Limerick move ahead, but that double goal salvo from Dublin changed the complexion of the game within 60 Hetheron fired home from the tightest of angles and then O'Sullivan latched onto a long ball forward and found the net past Nickie Gillane shone for Limerick, he ended up with eight points in total, as they clawed their way back into the game, but ultimately fell just Hegarty and Adam English scored four points Currie top-scored for the victors with nine points, with Conor Burke contributing 0-5.

Dublin shock Limerick in All-Ireland quarter-finals
Dublin have caused the shock of the hurling championship as they defeated Limerick 2-24 to 0-28 in the All-Ireland quarter-finals. Dublin started strong, with Seán Currie, Conor Burke and Ronan Hayes leading the charge, as they never gave Limerick a bit of space in Croke Park. Advertisement Despite a bright start to the game, Dublin were dealt a huge blow when Chris Crummey was sent off for an elbow strike on Limerick forward Gearoid Hegarty, with Limerick leading by two points at the time. However, they responded well and took a deserved 0-15 to 0-12 lead into the interval. Wides early in the second half cost Dublin, as Limerick were able to draw level in the 50th minute at 0-18 each. Adam English put Limerick ahead after four unanswered points, as they looked to take control of the game. However, Dublin were not finished, as two quick fire goals John Hetherton and Cian O'Sullivan turned the game around completley. Dublin lead by three points with 10 minutes to go, as the atmosphere and hope grew they were going to casue the shock of the summer. While Limerick were able to get it back to one point, points from John Bellew and Currie made the fans believe the win was on the cards. After some heroic defending in the final moments, Dublin sealed the win in a historic day for Dublin hurling.

Dublin see off Kildare challenge to set up quarter-final meeting with Limerick
All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-final: Kildare 0-13 Dublin 3-25 Dublin avoided the banana skin against Joe McDonagh Cup winners Kildare with a dominant display that sets them up nicely for an All-Ireland quarter-final against Limerick next weekend. Although Kildare received a heroes' welcome from at a Cedral St Conleths after their wonderful win last weekend against Laois in Croke Park, the efforts of that game, plus the celebrations that followed, took its toll. It was always a tough task facing a Dublin side in this kind of form but just six days after that emotional high Kildare were short of their best. The home side snapped into things early in the game and there were four points evenly shared in the opening 10 minutes. But the step up in quality was evident in the opening goal in the 11th minute. Rian Boran did well initially to win the ball ahead of Diarmuid Ó Dúlaing but his pass into centre back and brother Cian was intercepted and quick as flash, Dublin had the ball in the net through Ronan Hayes. The second goal arrived in the 17th minute and this time it was Ó Dúlaing who profited after a high press from Dublin forced another turnover inside the Kildare 45. READ MORE Dublin got plenty of joy from full forward John Hetherton, who was a powerful presence and helped lay on a number of scores. They led 2-14 to 0-5 at half-time and Dublin didn't let up through the second period. Rian McBride got a couple of scores in the second half and the pacy Brian Hayes also scored from distance. But the previously untroubled Seán Brennan made a smart save to bat away the powerful shot. David Qualter kept up his good record from dead balls on the day by converting the resulting 65. Niall Ó Ceallacháin, perhaps with an eye on that game against Limerick to come, used his full complement of subs, and his team added a third goal in the last minute of normal time when Fergal Whitely beat Paddy McKenna at his near post. It wasn't the result that the majority at the Newbridge venue came to see but the standing ovation as the Kildare team left the field showed the impact of their successful season. This was a glimpse of the level that Kildare will be playing on a regular basis next year but while Brian Dowling's focus turns to what is to come in 2026, Dublin will be hoping they have plenty more hurling to come this season.
