Telangana Governor, CM to participate in International Yoga Day fete
HYDERABAD: The state government will celebrate International Yoga Day in a grand manner on Saturday at GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli. The event will see the participation of Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and other ministers and celebrities. The yoga session, scheduled from 6 am to 9 am, will include around 5,000 participants. The Ayush and health departments have completed all arrangements for the event. As part of its ongoing efforts to promote yoga at the grassroots level, the state government appointed 628 yoga teachers last year and recently issued a notification for the appointment of over 250 more.

Countdown festival of Yoga Day to be a grand affair in Hyd today
Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy announced that International Yoga Day on June 21 will be celebrated grandly. To celebrate Yoga Day, a countdown festival will be held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad 24 hours before the IYD-2025, on June 20. Speaking to the media after inspecting the preparations at the LB Stadium on Thursday, he mentioned that prominent yoga organizations, educational institutions, and social organizations will participate in these celebrations. The chief guests for the event include Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Srinivasa Verma, and several Members of Parliament such as Dr. K. Lakshman, Krishnaiah, Etala Rajender, DK Aruna, Raghunandan Rao, as well as other legislators and members of the Legislative Council. 'Yoga contributes to both physical and mental well-being. Healthy individuals can better serve society and the country. For India to evolve into a developed nation by 2047, every person must be healthy. This way, we can achieve our goal of a developed India,' he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the yoga celebrations in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with lakhs of people expected to join.

Hindi plays pivotal role in keeping India united, says Governor
Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Tuesday said that Hindi plays a major role in keeping the country united and urged people to make special efforts for the development of Hindi language and the preservation of Indian culture and traditions. The Governor congratulated the Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad for establishing the organisation in the days when there was no social media, internet, phones and other information systems and successfully moving it forward for 90 years. The 90th anniversary of the Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad was held on Tuesday at the organization's premises on Nampally Station Road. Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, who attended the program as the chief guest, said that there were different languages, cultures and traditions in India and Hindi language will take these entirely forward in unity. He said that it was a good development that Hindi was spoken well in major cities like Hyderabad as well as in tribal areas and in the northeastern states. He said that once it was difficult to make Hindi accessible to the people, but now that the information system has become widespread, it can be easily made accessible, and he urged everyone to be a partner in this effort. The Governor urged everyone to take Hindi forward while learning other languages. He said that if there was dedication and sincerity, success can be achieved, and Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad is a testament to this, and he praised the organization for working hard for 90 years to take the organization forward. Central Hindi Director Sunil Baburao Kulkarni reminded that Hindi played a special role in the country's freedom struggle. He reminded that Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad had taught Hindi to many people and has also trained many people as Hindi teachers, professors, and professors. At a program held under the chairmanship of Hindi Prachar Sabha Hyderabad President Professor Chandrakant Kavade, the organisation's General Secretary S Gaibuvalli, Professor Suresh Puri, Shruthikant Bharathi, Ramadevi, Giridhar Rao, K Ramachander, AK Raju, Maheshwari, Vibha Bharathi, Sushma Devi and others participated. Lead the way towards a self-reliant India: Guv
Hyderabad: State Governor and University's Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma asked the graduating students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) to embrace creativity, ethics, and human values in this era of rapid technological change. He encouraged the youth to lead the way towards a self-reliant India. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest at the 13th convocation of JNTU-H on Tuesday, The Governor noted the university's progress in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) and in setting high educational standards through the introduction of new courses and innovative digital learning models. The Chancellor noted that JNTU-H has received Rs 498 crore in research funding from central and state government agencies. He highlighted the admission of 237 foreign students from 25 countries as evidence of the university's commitment to international standards and its global recognition. 'Real education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about using that knowledge to benefit society,' he added. Jishnu Dev Verma congratulated all the students, faculty, officers, and staff, expressing his joy at the university's milestone of 50 years. During the ceremony, a total of 91,840 degrees were conferred for the academic year 2023–2024, including undergraduate, postgraduate, Doctor of Pharmacy, and Doctorate programmes. He congratulated the medal winners, emphasising that the support from parents, teachers, and family members is invaluable to these achievements.

Maha, Gujarat Foundation Day celebrations held in a grand manner
Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma extended warm greetings to the people of Maharashtra and Gujarat on the foundation day of both States. During an event held at Raj Bhavan on Thursday, he praised Maharashtra and Gujarat for their crucial roles in India's economic development and cultural heritage. He emphasised the importance of the 'Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat' initiative in promoting national unity and harmony. The Governor described Maharashtra as a hub of financial resilience and spiritual richness, while he characterised Gujarat as a land known for strong leadership, enterprise, and devotion. He pointed out that although the two States were established on linguistic grounds in 1960, their shared contributions continue to reinforce the spirit of national integration. The event also featured video messages from the Governor of Maharashtra, CP Radhakrishnan, and the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat. Cultural performances showcasing the traditions of both States added colour and vibrancy to the celebration. Attendees included M Dana Kishore, Principal Secretary to the Governor; G Pallavi, Deputy Secretary to the Governor; Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat; Rajendra Nimje; Sunitha Bhagawat; Patil Sangramsingh Ganpat Rao, Additional Director General, Centre for Good Governance; senior Raj Bhavan officials; and distinguished guests from Maharashtra and Gujarat.
