Source Fashion July 2025 to focus on supply chain resilience
Source Fashion is scheduled for 8 to 10 July 2025 at The Grand Hall, Olympia London. The summer programme will focus on new economic insights, market developments, and ethical sourcing tactics amid global trade tensions, inflation, and continuous supply chain disruptions that are altering the retail landscape. The show will welcome back the Source Debates Stage, designed to provoke thought and discussion on topics such as AI in design, combating overconsumption, and the possibility of separating profit from production volumes. Source Fashion event director Suzanne Ellingham said: 'We would love to be talking about 2030 goals and the positive steps and impact the industry is making, but the reality is it's a tough business environment, and many of those goals are secondary to paying the bills. 'We are living through unprecedented amounts of risk and volatility, and risk is very much BAU (Business As Usual) now. So, for this show, we're focusing on what it really takes to succeed in uncertain times — combining practical insight with future-focused thinking. From supply chain resilience to sustainability under pressure, our agenda brings together the voices that matter most to help businesses not just adapt but thrive." Adding to the seminar line-up, the Source Fashion Catwalk will be featured thrice daily to exhibit responsibly produced collections and fashion-forward items from worldwide exhibitors. These runway shows aim to visually communicate innovation and sustainability while providing inspiration for buyers. Lynda Petherick, who serves as chief information officer at New Look and holds a non-executive director position at the British Fashion Council, will share insights on leading teams effectively amid disruptions in a fireside chat. Petherick will discuss the importance of agility and purposeful decision-making under the theme "Finding clarity from chaos – leading with purpose." Hash Ladha, former CEO of Jigsaw, is set to address the significance of cultivating robust internal cohesion, enhancing cross-functional dialogue, and forging strategic partnerships with suppliers to bolster business resilience. Bay Garnett, an advocate for sustainable fashion, together with Lauretta Roberts, CEO and editor-in-chief of will examine the sustainability of the burgeoning second-hand marketplaces and rental platforms. They aim to discern whether this trend has permanence or is short-lived. Bill McRaith, an executive adviser at Future-Proof Fashion, will present a session that assesses the recent transformations within the industry over the previous year and identifies key emerging trends. He will provide actionable advice based on data analytics to help businesses recognise patterns and enhance their resilience in an environment marked by persistent uncertainty. A discussion panel featuring Anna Berry from Retail 100, Berni Yates of CSM, and Mark Sumner from WRAP will confront a pressing ethical fashion dilemma: whether consumers are genuinely prepared to spend more on sustainably and ethically sourced items. Despite survey findings indicating affirmative consumer attitudes, purchase behaviours often reveal a different narrative. The experts will investigate this discrepancy and discuss strategies for brands to reconcile price with ethical considerations without alienating their customer base. Simon Platts of SP & KO Consultancy, Nick Reed from Neem London, and Helena Mansell-Stopher, CEO of Products of Change, will delve into how adopting a post-growth mindset can lead to significant impacts. They will explore how focusing on producing fewer but higher-quality items can reduce waste and refine product strategies while still ensuring business success. Another panel session featuring Platts alongside Isabelle Alexander from Isabelle Meira, Hayley Shore at PepsiCo, and Paul Kerrsens of United Repair Centre will challenge conventional beliefs about scale, cost-effectiveness, and production practices. The session will discuss smarter and more sustainable business models that better reflect current realities within the fashion sector. The London show will also feature a Türkiye pavilion with exhibitions from Bello Valente, Bintem Collection, Bordo Tekstil, Denimai, Giteks, Icone, Kiğili, Reseen, Ronin, Şenova, And Yooyu. EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Kate Middleton's former boss wins his three-year battle to host weddings at his £12million Cotswolds estate
Fashion tycoon John Robinson, who employed Kate Middleton before she wed Prince William, has won a three-year battle to host weddings at his Cotswolds estate. The multi-millionaire founder of fashion chain Jigsaw had to overcome objections from locals about noise pollution and congested roads. He was given four months' notice in 2022 to stop hosting events at his £12 million property, Euridge Manor. But, after a nine-day public inquiry, Robinson, 77, has been granted permission to continue hosting events on the sprawling 450-acre estate, where Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson exchanged vows with rugby player Will Owen. 'Euridge Manor Weddings is delighted at the grant of planning permission,' a spokesman says. When Robinson bought Euridge Manor Farm in 1980, it covered 200 acres, with a five-bedroom farmhouse, outbuildings and three cottages. But the tycoon extended the estate, purchasing 250 acres of surrounding land, and building an orangery with two bedrooms and an indoor swimming pool. He married now ex-wife Belle at Euridge in 2004. After their divorce in 2014, Robinson registered company Euridge Manor Weddings Incorporated and began hosting ceremonies. Neighbours complained about traffic, music and firework displays lasting into the small hours and said the estate did not have permission for 'change of use' in order to host weddings. After two planning applications and an appeal, planning permission has now been granted subject to a range of conditions to control noise and address highway safety concerns. No cut prices for Stella's clan You might think the name McCartney would open doors and curry favours – especially for a relation of Sir Paul. But comedienne Sophie McCartney, a cousin of the former Beatle, says it doesn't cut any ice with Sir Paul's daughter, fashion designer Stella. 'When I was younger, my Nana took me to Paris because I wanted to be a fashion designer as I was doing textiles GCSE,' says Sophie. 'We went to go and see Stella. She was at Chloe at the time. I did get some sunglasses and a Chloe [bag]. But that's it. 'But no I've never had any Stella McCartney discount. 'I'd take 25 (per cent).' Lily's friends get a wake-up call as star says she ranks them Anyone receiving unexpected FaceTime calls from Lily Allen for catch-up chats perhaps shouldn't feel too honoured or excited – until they've worked out its duration and the interval since the last one. 'I create lists of people who I like in order of how much I like them,' the pop singer, 40, reveals. 'I send that list to my assistant and ask her to schedule the time for me to have FaceTimes with them.' In March, I revealed that Lily's husband, Stranger Things star David Harbour, had been having an affair with a colleague. 'David cheated on Lily,' an associate told me. 'They met on a movie they did together.' Having been a pop star herself in the 1980s and '90s, Cathy Dennis went on to compose hits for Kylie Minogue, with Can't Get You Out Of My Head, Britney Spears (Toxic) and Katy Perry (I Kissed a Girl). Now, however, she's fed up with writing for others. 'I am done with that,' says Dennis, 56. 'There have been many [recording] sessions where I've been asked to get into a box and one day I just think, 'No, no more'. I will continue to write, but I am not writing music in the same way.' Duckface is a punchy guest She knocked Hugh Grant's character flat out after being jilted in Four Weddings And A Funeral, and 'duckface' Anna Chancellor is almost as pugnacious in real life. The actress, 60, admits she lost her cool at Arizona's Grand Canyon. 'I behaved quite badly,' she tells Travel Secrets podcast. 'I booked a '1930s cabin' – when I got in there I was like, 'This is s***'. I said, 'You need to relocate me'. I'm capable of kicking up a fuss.' The Ritz played a key role in King Charles's life when he and Camilla Parker Bowles were pictured leaving the London hotel in 1999 in their first public appearance together as a couple. And His Majesty was, I hear, quick to get in touch earlier this year when The Ritz was awarded fine dining's coveted accolade. 'I got a nice little letter from King Charles, congratulating me on getting two Michelin stars,' John Williams, executive chef at The Ritz, tells me at the National Restaurant Awards, where The Ritz was crowned best in the UK. GP error? You can blame Lesley! Opera singer Lesley Garrett was a panellist on ITV's Loose Women for four years, but her husband, retired GP Peter Christian, intervened. '[It's] the only time he's ever asked me to stop doing something,' she reveals. 'He said, 'At the surgery I've got ten minutes with each patient. And eight minutes is taken up with what you've said the day before. I'm worried I'm going to misdiagnose somebody, so please could you stop?' Tamara still has very bad habits! Former 'It-girl' Tamara Beckwith's wild partying days aren't completely behind her if this picture is anything to go by. Tamara, 55, attended the fancy dress tenth wedding anniversary party of Sofia Barattieri Weinstein, co-chair of the London Air Ambulance, and her husband, Brian Weinstein, in Sicily at the weekend. Beckwith can be seen surrounded by fellow partygoers dressed as priests and nuns in these pictures she shared online. 'It was a spectacular example of when friends show how much they love their hosts,' says Tamara, who is married to Italian businessman Giorgio Veroni. 'Incredible dresses, head-dresses, naughty lace, brocades and enchanted gardens filled with candlelight.'

Inside Saw's future as 'disagreements' over film left horror franchise 'dead'
The Saw films were a staple of 2000s horror, introducing fans to the twisted, torturous traps of the iconic Jigsaw killer. Directed by James Wan and co-written with Leigh Whannell, the first film was released in 2004 in which serial killer Jigsaw imprisoned Adam Stanheight ( Whannell) and Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) with the purpose of subjecting them to a series of puzzles to escape. Across the franchise, Jigsaw – or John Kramer (Tobin Bell), as the jaw-dropping ending of the first film reveals – has attracted acolytes who have continued his twisted games spanning 10 films so far. Released in 2023, Saw X took us back in time to the period between Saw and Saw II in which Kramer desperately seeks life-saving treatment following his cancer diagnosis, but is instead duped by con artists and enacts his bloody revenge. Soon after its release, an 11th film was announced, but the production of Saw XI has been anything but smooth with delays, a cancellation, and rumours of behind-the-scenes drama. With a potential lifeline for the legendary horror series now in the mix, we take a look at what exactly is going on with Saw XI. Following the runaway success of Saw X, it was confirmed in December 2023 that Saw XI was on its way. Saw X landed the highest Rotten Tomatoes rating for any film in the franchise, grossing a whopping $125million (£92.3m) worldwide. It was announced that Kevin Greutert, who directed the 10th film, would be returning for Saw XI, and Bell would also be reprising his role as the iconic John Kramer. Co-writer Patrick Melton – who penned Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, and Saw 3D – teased what fans could expect from the 'very timely' plot of the 11th installment. 'It taps into the same themes of Saw VI, where you're a citizen, you feel angry and frustrated with something, you feel like you can't do anything, and John Kramer's going to do it,' he told The Hollywood Reporter. Given Bell's return, it seems the 11th film was set to be another prequel set between the events of Saw and Saw II, which could have meant we would see Shawnee Smith's Amanda Young hit the big screen again. A post-credit scene from Saw X also saw Costas Mandylor reprise his role as police detective turned Jigsaw disciple Mark Hoffman, which could mean he was set to star in Saw XI though this was never confirmed. Speaking to SFX magazine, producer Oren Koules hinted that it would be a direct follow-up to the events of Saw X. 'Cecilia is still alive and Tobin and Shawnee are in a foreign country still. So that, to me, would be the natural place to take at least the next one,' he revealed. Saw XI was originally set to be released on September 27 of the same year, but was delayed until September this year, it was announced in April 2024. Never Let Go, starring Halle Berry, took the film's original release date. Two Lionsgate titles saw their release dates change in the same announcement – the remake of The Crow and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. After a period of silence over the film, sources told Bloody Disgusting that Saw XI was 'totally, 100% dead' due to disagreements at studio level. The report, released on March 27, claimed 'everything went sideways in January 2024' due to producers fighting. 'It's totally dead,' the insider said. 'It's 100% over. Almost a year now.' They claimed that one producer attempted to 'plough forward' with production, while the other 'put up roadblocks' that halted production. '[Lionsgate] didn't have anyone to smooth over the disagreement,' the source added, claiming 'greed and ego won.' Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Melton confirmed the claims that the movie has 'stalled at a managerial level.' 'The reason it's held up is just, there's inter-squabbling between producers and Lionsgate. They just can't quite get on the same page,' he said. He continued: 'It has nothing to do with the creative or anything else. There's higher-level things at play.' Saw – Netflix and Prime Video Saw II – Netflix Saw III – Netflix Saw IV – Available to rent via Prime Video, Apple TV, and the Sky Store Saw V – Available to rent via Prime Video, Apple TV, and the Sky Store Saw VI – Available to rent via Prime Video, Apple TV, and the Sky Store Saw: 3D – Available to rent via Prime Video, Apple TV, and the Sky Store Jigsaw – Available to rent via Prime Video, Apple TV, and the Sky Store Spiral: From The Book of Saw – Available to rent via Prime Video, Apple TV, and the Sky Store Saw X – Netflix The writer claimed he and writing partner Marcus Dunstan turned in a draft of the script in 2024, but that he hadn't 'heard anything' since then. Greutert also addressed the apparent cancellation in a Reddit post, writing: 'Let's just say that this past year+ has been among the saddest and most frustrating of my life.' A week after the damning news of the Saw XI cancellation, fans were offered an unusual glimmer of hope. The franchise's killer mascot, Billy the Puppet, posted a cryptic statement suggesting the game is far from over. 'I've seen the rumors. They say it's Game Over. You all should know me better than that. The game is never over,' the tricycle-riding puppet said in a statement shared by Lionsgate. But at the same time, it was announced that Saw XI had been completely removed from Lionsgate's release schedule, seemingly sealing its fate. Which brings us to June 4, 2025, when Deadline reported that Blumhouse is allegedly in the process of acquiring perspective rights to Twisted Pictures' portion of Saw. If the deal goes ahead, Blumhouse would take over the ownership of the franchise rights from Twisted Pictures owners Mark Burg and Oren Koules. Lionsgate would still be involved in the project, seeing as the company owns 50% of the franchise. More Trending If Blumhouse takes over the Saw franchise, and therefore Saw XI, it would mean Saw is reunited with co-creator James Wan following Blumhouse's merger with his company Atomic Monster. It is unknown what stage the deal is at, as Lionsgate, Twisted Pictures, and Blumhouse have not yet addressed the report. It could mean that Saw XI has been brought back from the dead by Blumhouse, famed for titles such as Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Insidious, Sinister, and many more. Blumhouse acquires Saw franchise rights from Twisted Pictures
Blumhouse is reportedly acquiring the rights to the Saw franchise from Twisted Pictures, marking a major shift in the future of the iconic horror series. According to Deadline, the deal will give Blumhouse ownership of Twisted Pictures' 50% stake in the franchise, while Lionsgate will retain its share and remain a production partner. This move comes after Saw XI was unexpectedly pulled from its planned September 26, 2025 release. Behind-the-scenes disputes between Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures had stalled production and left the fate of the franchise uncertain. With Blumhouse now stepping in, hopes for the return of the Saw series have been reignited. Although no new Saw movie is currently in development, the acquisition suggests Blumhouse has long-term plans for the franchise. Notably, the deal also reconnects Saw with co-creator James Wan. Thanks to the recent merger between Blumhouse and Wan's Atomic Monster production company, Wan is expected to have renewed involvement with the series he helped launch. The Saw franchise began in 2004 and became one of the most successful horror film series of all time. After a successful 10th installment, fans were anticipating Saw XI until development issues paused progress. While details remain scarce, industry insiders believe that Blumhouse's track record with horror franchises could breathe new life into Saw, potentially reuniting fans with the iconic Jigsaw in the near future. More updates are expected as the transition unfolds.

Carlisle man begins seven day challenge in memory of ‘real life hero'
A PERSONAL trainer from Carlisle is beginning a seven day challenge this week in memory of his dad. Barrie Mark Scougal, 49, who owns Barrie Mark Personal Training in Harraby, set off this morning (Monday, 26 May) on a 10km swim. He has a whole host of other physical challenges planned to raise money and honour the team at Eden Valley Hospice who cared for his dad, Tony Scougal, and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice. Tony, who Barrie describes as a 'real life hero', died in June last year after a battle with cancer. Barrie and his dad, Tony. (Image: Supplied) Barrie said: 'In his final days, Eden Valley Hospice gave him peace, dignity, and comfort. They also gave my family a place of safety and compassion during an incredibly painful time. 'To say thank you—and to support the many other families who will need this kind of care—I'm taking on a week of fitness challenges. 'Whether it's running, lifting, swimming, dancing or coaching, I'll be putting my heart into every challenge.'
