Raw recap & reactions: Random Monday in June
Apologies to anyone who showed up here looking for some half-witticisms and irreverent humor about one of their favorite wrestling programs. We'll get to that, I promise, but there's something I need to get off my chest. As of this writing, WWE hasn't acknowledged Pride Month. The same year in which they didn't acknowledge African American History Month, they're giving Pride the same no vaseline treatment. It was commonplace for them to give a cursory hat tip to months that mean something to so many on their roster and their audience. I was a lot more irate about this before the sun went down, and maybe I'll have more fire for it later, but it's sad that the company stopped doing something they did pretty regularly but seemingly stopped because of a supposed cultural backlash. Advertisement People show their true colors in moments like this, so yeah, it would seem WWE is stating pretty loudly through deafening silence who they are and what they're about. Soapbox moment over, back to your regular scheduled sports entertainment wrestling program. Bash money This was a weird episode of Raw that, honestly, didn't give me much to work with. I mean, El Grande Americano is in the Money in the Bank match. Yes, Chad Gable's alter ego is wrestling for the briefcase as opposed to CM Punk or AJ Styles. I figured El Grande's only purpose was to take a pin, but apparently not. Look, I get part of this. Seth Rollins' crew has beef with Punk, and they showed some AJ their teeth prior to the main event. And this is part of Jey Uso's story too. If they put Punk in jeopardy, Jey & Sami would come a-runnin.' Punk helped Jey & Sami when Seth interrupted their tag match with Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed, so it only made sense for Jey to return the favor. Advertisement GUNTHER is a part of this as well. Thankfully, we're no longer doing the whole 'Jey isn't good enough for the title' bit that's older than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich sitting in the Sahara on a summer day. Instead, GUNTHER is pointing out that Jey is running himself ragged and not being strategic. He's not wrong either. Jey is jumping into every battle that doesn't concern the gold around his waist. This also happened to him: The man ate several Tsunami sandwiches for dinner. And I'm sure most, if not all of them come with a severe bout of indigestion. All of this is fine. It's sound storytelling that reveals character and branches together easily. But it didn't do anything exciting. Money in the Bank is a big deal event, yet this felt like a random Monday in June rather than go-home show for one of the territory's biggest events of the year. Advertisement I'm still looking forward to MitB, but I'd love a sense of urgency several eves before a big show. Make me really want to see it rather than taking my patronage as a given. Deep Cuts Stephanie Vaquer's road to dominance started with a win over Ivy Nile and Liv Morgan. This was her first match on Raw as a member of the red brand roster, and also one that put her in the final spot of this year's Money in the Bank match. Ivy was there to take the pin, as Liv's got potentially much bigger fish worth a fish fry down the line. It's wild Money in the Bank is this weekend, right? Rusev is down for the fight. Sheamus is down for the fight. Sheamus' message to his old friend? 'I bully bullies.' Doesn't have the poetry of Rusev's promo but still effective. This will be a key indicator of how the territory sees Rusev. There's some meat (no pun intended) on the bones of him and Sheamus, and I hope they keep playing on their history, along with Sheamus' storied history with the Nelson Muntz types. Roxanne Perez offered her services to Liv. Liv said nah. Instead, she lent her considerable hand to Finn Balor & JD McDonagh. Very fun and dope tag match between the two Judgment Day members and the War Raiders. Still not a fan of that Judgment Day music though. Take it out back and shoot it. Really liked the Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch's segment. Lyra looks and sounds like a hot babyface, while Becky sounds more and more like a selfish, conniving heel. Becky's 'I don't fight in Tulsa' line made me fall out. It was all in the delivery. A brief skirmish broke out between them, making Becky go back on her word almost immediately. Looking forward to this match when money inside banks is on the line. Kari Sane & Dakota KAI might have their sights set on some tag team gold. The former defeated Raquel Rodriguez thanks to the latter having her back once Liv got involved. Liv wants Dakota's championship but I'm sure a program between all four women is percolating. The biggest thing that happened this week is Stephanie Vaquer's debut and her subsequent meeting with Mami. That's. It. Maybe that's a symptom of doing Saturday Night's Main Event so soon after Backlash and so close to Money in the Bank. I can't call it. But this just wasn't an exciting television show. What say you, Cagesiders? Will Stephanie win the women's ladder match? More from

Will Adam Pearce replace Jey Uso at MITB 2025 with a WWE veteran?
Things are looking rough for Jey Uso heading into Money in the Bank 2025. On this week's episode of Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins and his crew launched a vicious attack on Jey. To make matters worse, Bronson Reed hit him with multiple Tsunamis, leaving fans seriously worried about how Jey's holding up—especially with a huge tag team match just days away. Jey is scheduled to team up with Cody Rhodes this Saturday to take on John Cena and Logan Paul. But after what went down on RAW, there's real concern he won't be cleared to compete. And that's not the only thing on Jey's plate. He's also got to defend his World Heavyweight Title against Gunther next week on RAW. Between that and all the enemies he's got right now—Rollins' crew, Cena and Logan, and Gunther—he's being pulled in every direction. It's no surprise that RAW GM Adam Pearce might have to step in and pull Jey from the tag match at MITB for the sake of his health. Also Read: 'Why isn't Brock Lesnar getting fired?': Ex-WWE writer questions Adam Pearce If that happens, fans are already speculating about a possible replacement. The most obvious (and dramatic) choice? Jey's own brother, Jimmy Uso. Sure, the two have had their ups and downs, but when it really matters, Jimmy's always shown up for Jey. If Jey can't go, Jimmy stepping in would make for one heck of a moment. That said, nothing is official yet. We still don't know the full extent of Jey's injuries, and Pearce hasn't made any announcements. Meanwhile, Gunther isn't wasting time. The Ring General is locked in on getting his title back from Jey, and he's been pretty vocal about it. He lost to Jey at WrestleMania 41 after tapping out, but on RAW this week, he made it clear he's ready for revenge. 'Because ever since that day I lost to you at WrestleMania, I knew I'd avenge this. And right now? You're making it very, very easy for me. Jey in one week, the party is over.' Gunther clearly thinks Jey's taking on too much—and honestly, he might have a point. Jey hasn't even held the title for two months yet, and while WWE usually lets champs keep the belt a while, this could be one of those rare moments where they shake things up fast. If Jey's not at 100%, Gunther could easily take advantage and walk out with the gold. Jey Uso's got a brutal week ahead of him—if he can even make it to Saturday. And right now, nothing feels guaranteed.

Jey Uso Is Invading Your Local Supermarket
It's just me, JUICE! Jey Uso (or is it J-uice-o?) is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. That title comes with some great perks, like big endorsement deals. Jey is a spokesperson for Slim Jim. Now he can also be seen on Minute Maid juice containers in supermarkets. Advertisement Twitter/X user Christina D shared a photo of Jey Uso on a new half-gallon-sized container of Minute Maid's Tropical Punch that recently hit shelves. WWE announced a new partnership with Minute Maid One other fan reported Cody Rhodes' likeness on the Fruit Punch variety of the juice. If you're wondering what the connection is, Minute Maid is the Official Juice Partner of WWE. That deal was announced in April ahead of WrestleMania 41. The partnership will see 'a wide range of integrations within key WWE assets.' This includes 'match sponsorships and integrations within Premium Live Events' and other custom digital content. WWE Superstar-branded products were also touted in the initial release, and they are now starting to hit stores. Advertisement In addition to Uso and Rhodes, Bianca Belair is also featured in the campaign. They are prominently featured on the Minute Maid website's 'Bring The Juice' section. 'We are excited to partner with The Coca-Cola Company to name Minute Maid the Official Juice Partner of WWE,' said Grant Norris-Jones, Executive Vice President & Head of Global Partnerships for TKO. 'Minute Maid is a trusted family brand with unmatched global reach, and we look forward to collaborating on new and innovative integrations that will resonate with both audiences.' 'As the world's most iconic juice brand, we don't just follow culture—we help shape it,' said Jorge Luzio, Head of Marketing, Minute Maid Juice Portfolio, North America, Minute Maid, The Coca-Cola Company. 'This partnership with WWE allows us to tap into one of the most passionate fanbases in the world, bringing the juice to everyday moments and taking them from ordinary to legendary.' This is a much better way to cross-promote WWE and major brands. Naomi probably won't be getting a Carvel sponsorship after what she did to Jade Cargill's birthday cake! Rikishi voices frustration over Jey Uso's WWE direction, calls for booking overhaul
Image via WWE WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has voiced strong concerns over the creative direction surrounding his son Jey Uso, who is currently enjoying his first reign as World Heavyweight Champion. While Jey remains a prominent figure in the promotion, Rikishi believes WWE's decision to book him in a tag team match at Money in the Bank (MITB) 2025 undermines his stature as a singles champion. Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi criticised WWE's creative team for what he called 'confusing booking' and even joked that he should be allowed to book Jey's matches instead. 'Bro why? Why? I mean, Jey is a World Heavyweight Champion by himself… just book me so I can book my son's matches out there,' he quipped. Rikishi shows concern over storyline momentum Jey Uso is set to team up with Cody Rhodes to face Logan Paul and John Cena at MITB on June 7. While the lineup looks star-studded on paper, Rikishi questioned the decision to place a reigning world champion in a non-title tag match instead of spotlighting him in a marquee singles bout. 'You beat Logan Paul the first time they lock up? I wouldn't have done that. Should've waited for a gimmick match,' Rikishi added, pointing out that Paul's star power could've been better utilized. YADADAMEAN?! Rikishi Fatu - Off The Top (Episode 61) He also took aim at the upcoming World Title match scheduled for June 9 on RAW, where GUNTHER will challenge Jey Uso. According to Rikishi, the match should've happened much sooner and with added stakes, possibly a stipulation that matches their in-ring reputations. While Rikishi may not be pleased with Jey's creative arc, he was full of praise for two other members of the Samoan dynasty - Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo (formerly Jeff Cobb). Rikishi labeled Fatu a 'future Hall of Famer' and lauded his rise from personal struggles to becoming one of WWE's hottest new stars. He also applauded Mateo's quick impact since debuting at WWE Backlash and likened his physical presence to that of a prime Taz, highlighting his suplex-heavy style and agility despite his build. 'To see him get that financial stability after grinding on the indies - man, I'm proud,' Rikishi said. Fans online appear to agree with Rikishi's sentiment. Many have questioned the lack of title defenses for Jey and criticized WWE for relying too heavily on tag matches featuring champions at Premium Live Events.
