Nine QF school students honoured with Education Excellence Award

Nine students from Qatar Foundation's (QF) Pre-University Education (PUE) schools were recognised with the 18th edition of the Education Excellence Award, representing primary, preparatory, and secondary levels. The award honours outstanding academic performance, community engagement, and leadership, reflecting the holistic, high-quality education QF provides. Among the honourees is Saad Fahad Al-Qahtani, a 19-year-old graduate of Qatar Academy Doha, part of QF's PUE. He is currently in his first year at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, a QF partner university.
Reflecting on receiving the Platinum Medal in the Distinguished High School Student category, Al-Qahtani said: 'It was an unforgettable moment of pride and gratitude, a culmination of years of hard work, and a powerful source of inspiration to move forward with confidence and responsibility.
'This achievement proves that consistent effort and determination truly make a difference. It has boosted my self-confidence and opened new academic and research opportunities at one of the world's leading universities.'
Al-Qahtani noted the challenge of balancing academic excellence with leadership and community involvement, crediting time management and goal commitment for his success.
'What earned me this medal was a well-rounded commitment to excellence, academically, in leadership, and through innovation, driven by a genuine passion to serve my community and a constant desire for self-improvement.'
He also highlighted the support he received from Qatar Foundation, saying: 'QF provided a stimulating learning environment and unique opportunities, from international competitions to educational visits that broadened my horizons and fuelled my inspiration.'
He added that his family played a vital role in his journey, emphasizing that the values he was raised with and the constant encouragement he received helped him overcome challenges and move forward with confidence and determination toward his goals.
'I feel a responsibility to inspire others, because a true leader is someone who paves the way for others and believes that real success is built through teamwork.'
As for Jassim Hamad Ahmed Al-Mudhahka, an 11-year-old student from Qatar Academy Al Khor and recipient of the Gold Medal in the Primary School category, he expressed his feelings by saying: 'I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and honour.'

Jassim spoke of the challenge of balancing academics and family life, noting the pressure he faced at times. With his mother's constant support and a structured schedule, he managed to maintain balance and reach his goal. 'These challenges weren't obstacles they became learning experiences that made me stronger and brought me closer to achieving my goal of winning the award.'
He expressed his gratitude to his mother, family, and school for their constant support, emphasizing the positive environment and the encouragement he received from his teachers and principal. 'This award marks the start of a journey full of future achievements,' he said.
Among the nine award recipients were Hamad Al-Musnad, Mohammed Al-Muhannadi, and Sabah Al-Naimi from Qatar Academy Al Khor, each receiving a Platinum Medal; Sabah Al-Thani and Abdulrahman Al-Dabbagh from Qatar Academy Doha, who earned Platinum and Gold Medals respectively; Ali Al-Sulaiti, awarded a Gold Medal from Tariq Bin Ziad School; and Al-Jouri Al-Thani, who received a Platinum Medal from Qatar Academy for Science and Technology.
