Charlottetown police seize shotgun, crystal meth during search of house
Two people are facing firearms and drug trafficking charges after Charlottetown police seized crystal meth, a shotgun and other weapons from a home last week.
Officers executed a search warrant at a Charlottetown residence around 10 p.m. on Thursday, according to a police news release. They seized:
36.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine
a shotgun
a crossbow
nine replica firearms
ammunition
several knives
two cellphones
$1,900 in cash
Officers arrested Jason MacLean, 48, and Dana Lee Cheverie, 41, who have both been charged with:
possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
unsafe storage of a firearm
possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized
unsafe storage of ammunition
careless use of a firearm
nine counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation
breach of a recognizance order
The accused have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
