Jason Biggs details climbing into trash to snort cocaine amid height of addiction
NEW YORK — 'American Pie' alum Jason Biggs is speaking out on the moment he hit rock bottom during the height of his drug addiction. The 47-year old actor, who's been candid when discussing his recovery journey, recently detailed a time when he resorted to climbing into a trash can to snort cocaine. 'One of my craziest stories was I was doing cocaine by myself in my house, and I did what I said was the last line,' he shared on the latest episode of Arielle Lorre's 'Well' podcast. Biggs explained that his wife, Jenny Mullen, was asleep upstairs, unaware that he was still awake and doing drugs at 4 a.m. In an effort to get himself to stop and go to bed, he threw the rest of the cocaine into the garbage. Within 15 minutes, however, the last bump was 'wearing off,' so Biggs pulled the coke out of the garbage and did another line. He then went outside tossed the remainder into the large trash bin outside their house. 'OK, I'm done,' he recalled telling himself before heading back inside to take a sleeping pill. But again, within minutes, the urge for more coke kicked in. 'I went outside and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line,' Biggs said. 'I was like, 'What the f–k am I doing? This is absolutely insane.'' The New Jersey native, whose substance abuse dates back 25 years to the peak of 'American Pie' popularity, has now been sober since 2017 after multiple attempts to get clean. 'After some fits and starts, I've managed to put together one year of sobriety,' he wrote on Instagram in 2018. 'I'm as proud of it as anything in my life. If you're struggling, know there's help. Don't be ashamed. We can do this.'

Jason Biggs Details Getting Cocaine From Trash Can Amid Addiction
Originally appeared on E! Online Jason Biggs is getting candid about a low moment. The American Pie alum, who has been open about his addiction journey over the years, recently recalled a time from the height of his struggles in which he repeatedly retrieved drugs from the trash can. 'I lived in the gray area, but I have 'snorting dust off the floor' stories or similar to that,' Jason told Arielle Lorre on the June 4 episode of her Well podcast. 'One of my craziest stories was I was doing cocaine by myself in my house, and I did what I said was the last line.' He went on to say his wife, Jenny Mullen, was asleep upstairs and she 'didn't even know' he was awake and taking drugs, and in an effort to get himself to go to bed he put the rest of the cocaine into their trash can. 'Within 15 minutes, as soon as my last bump is wearing off, what am I doing?' Jason remembered. 'I go into my trash, and I take it out and I do a line.' More from E! 'Before I took the Ambien, I was like, 'One more,'' he said. 'I went outside and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line. I was like, 'What the f--k am I doing? This is absolutely insane.'' This time, the Orange Is The New Black alum—who shares Sid, 11, and Lazlo, 7, with Jenny—said he drove down Sunset Boulevard to dispose of the cocaine in a trash can down there, going so far as to put the bag in a coffee cup that still had coffee inside. Yet, as he detailed, when his last bump wore off he once again found himself driving back to the trash can and retrieving the drugs. 'I could have easily opened the baggie and dumped it down the toilet, but I didn't,' he said. 'That's too final. I knew I was going to finish that bag the moment I got it, but I kept playing this game with myself. That was very close to rock bottom.' And at the time, the 47-year-old's life was consumed by his addiction. 'For me, it was the obsession over it,' he explained. 'It was wake up and immediately think, 'How am I going to get my first line?' to 'When is this going to happen? What do I have today?'' In fact, he planned his schedule around when he could take drugs, adding, 'It was exhausting and I was sort of consumed mentally.' Now sober for more than seven years, Jason can look back and see how much happier he is, calling sobriety 'freeing.' 'There is a freedom,' he explained, 'that comes with not having to do those things anymore.' For more celebrities who have been candid about their sobriety journeys, keep reading. Jason Biggs recalls snorting cocaine from stranger's trash at 4 a.m. during addiction battle: 'Absolutely insane'
Jason Biggs is getting candid about hitting an all-time low when he wanted to get high. The actor, who shot to fame at 19 as the star of the 1999 comedy American Pie, recently opened up about the darkest days of his battle with addiction, sharing one of the "craziest stories" from his 20s. "I was doing cocaine by myself in my house, and I did what I said was the last line," Biggs told Arielle Lorre on a new episode of her Well podcast. He explained that it was 4 a.m. at the time and his wife, Jenny Mollen, was asleep upstairs and had no idea that he was using drugs, so in an effort to get himself back to bed, he threw the baggie of cocaine into their trash can. "Within 15 minutes, as soon as my last bump is wearing off, I'm like, 'What am I doing?'" he recalled. "I go into my trash and I take it out and I do a line." In another attempt to stop himself, he then went outside and tossed the rest of the cocaine into the trash can in front of their house. "'Okay, I'm done,'" he recalled telling himself, saying he went inside to take an Ambien to help him get to sleep. But he wasn't finished. "Before I took the Ambien, I was like, 'One more,'" he said. "I went outside and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line." Again, Biggs said he came to his senses. "I was like, 'What the f--- am I doing? This is absolutely insane.'" The early-morning binge only escalated from there. Biggs said he then got in his car, drove down Sunset Boulevard, dug in another stranger's trash can, found a Starbucks coffee cup, put the baggie of cocaine in it, and tossed it back into the trash. But he still couldn't stop himself. He drove back to the trash can, retrieved the baggie of drugs from the coffee cup, and snorted another line. "I could have easily opened the baggie and dumped it down the toilet, but I didn't," Biggs said on the podcast. "That's too final. I knew I was going to finish that bag the moment I got it, but I kept playing this game with myself. That was very close to rock bottom." Noting that he has since come a long way, the Orange Is the New Black alum credited his move from Los Angeles to New York with helping him get clean. "There's something about the energy of New York that gives me something, that fills me in a way that Los Angeles couldn't," he explained. "I do believe coming to New York helped me. So, I did fall off the wagon here, but that was seven and a half years ago, and it's been going well."Biggs has been sober since 2017, the same year he and Mollen welcomed their second son. A year later, Biggs reflected on his anniversary of sobriety. "I first tried to get sober over five years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle," he wrote in a 2018 Instagram post. "Turns out this s--- is hard. After some fits and starts, I've managed to put together one year of sobriety. I'm as proud of it as anything in my life." "If you're struggling, know there's help," he added. "Don't be ashamed. We can do this." Watch Biggs discuss his sobriety and mental health in the Well episode above. American Pie star Jason Biggs snorted cocaine from a stranger's trash during drug addiction days: ‘Absolutely insane'
American actor Jason Biggs is shedding light on a deeply personal and harrowing chapter of his life, opening up about the extent of his struggles with drug addiction. Known for his breakout role as a teenager in American Pie, Jason spoke about one of the darkest episodes from his 20s—a period when substance use began to spiral out of control. Speaking on a new episode of Arielle Lorre's Well podcast, the now 47-year-old actor didn't hold back in sharing what he described as one of the 'craziest stories' from his 20s. Alone in his house at 4 a.m. while his wife Jenny Mollen was asleep upstairs, Jason said, 'I was doing cocaine by myself in my house, and I did what I said was the last line.' Hoping to put an end to the binge, he threw the remaining cocaine in the trash. But the decision didn't stick for long. 'Within 15 minutes, as soon as my last bump is wearing off, I'm like, 'What am I doing?' I go into my trash and I take it out and I do a line,' he added. Trying again to stop himself, he moved the bag outside. ''Okay, I'm done,'' he told himself after tossing it into the garbage bin in front of his house. But even after taking an Ambien to sleep, the pull was too strong. 'Before I took the Ambien, I was like, 'One more.' I went outside and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line.' It was in that moment that reality hit. 'I was like, 'What the f**k am I doing? This is absolutely insane',' he recalled. The night escalated further. Jason said he got into his car, drove down in Los Angeles, and found a stranger's trash can. He put the cocaine into a discarded coffee cup and threw it away again. But the cycle continued. 'I drove back to the trash can, retrieved the baggie of drugs from the coffee cup, and snorted another line.' He acknowledged how unwilling he was to truly quit: 'I could have easily opened the baggie and dumped it down the toilet, but I didn't. That's too final. I knew I was going to finish that bag the moment I got it, but I kept playing this game with myself. That was very close to rock bottom.' Now years removed from that night, Jason credits his move from Los Angeles to New York as a turning point. 'There's something about the energy of New York that gives me something, that fills me in a way that Los Angeles couldn't. I do believe coming to New York helped me. So, I did fall off the wagon here, but that was seven and a half years ago, and it's been going well.' Jason says he has been sober since 2017, the same year he and Mollen welcomed their second son. In a 2018 Instagram post marking one year of sobriety, he wrote, 'I first tried to get sober over five years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle. Turns out this s**t is hard. After some fits and starts, I've managed to put together one year of sobriety. I'm as proud of it as anything in my life.' His message to others was clear: 'If you're struggling, know there's help. Don't be ashamed. We can do this.'

Jason Biggs once climbed into trash bin in desperate search for drugs, Entertainment News
Jason Biggs "climbed into a trash bin" in a desperate search for drugs during an all-night bender. The American Pie star, 37, is celebrating more than seven years sober after a long battle with addiction issues and he's revealed his low point came during a night at home in 2008, when he threw a bag of cocaine away in a bid to end a drugs binge but ended up sorting through the garbage in a bid to retrieve it. During an appearance on the Well with Arielle Lorre podcast, Jason explained: "I lived in the gray area, but I have 'snorting dust off the floor' stories or similar to that. "One of my craziest stories was, I was doing cocaine by myself in my house, and I did what I said was the last line. Within 15 minutes, as soon as my last bump is wearing off, I'm like: 'What am I doing?" I go into my trash, and I take it out, and I do a line ... " Jason — who would often do drugs alone late at night after his wife had gone to bed — revealed he threw the bag away for a second time when he decided to call it a night, but he ended up going through the trash again. He went on; "Before I took the Ambien [sleeping pill], I was like: 'One more'. I went outside, and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line. "I was like: 'What the f*** am I doing? This is absolutely insane'." Jason eventually tried to get sober, but found himself slipping back into bag habits whenever he was alone, adding: "I would find myself alone and isolating, and I would find myself breaking whatever sobriety I had. "It was incredibly fragile, obviously, in those early days." However, he credits moving from Los Angeles to New York in 2015 with helping him conquer his demons for good. He explained: "There's something about the energy of New York that gives me something, that fills me in a way that Los Angeles couldn't. "But I do believe coming to New York helped me. So, I did fall off the wagon here, but that was seven and a half years ago, and it's been going well." [[nid:718007]]
