Sligo's Clancy brothers win gold and silver at nationals
The competition was a qualification for the upcoming Elite World Championships this September in Liverpool. First up was Jason who was boxing in the 85kg weight category where he faced Galway's Celtic Eagles BC Robbie Olusola with a solid performance scoring a 5/0 on all judges' score cards. That saw Jason advance to the semi final against hometown boxer Anthony Taggart Ormeau Round BC Belfast in what was a fantastic bout. The Sean McDermott boxer showed his strength against a younger opponent to get the victory 5/0 now setting himself up in the final against the current number one ranked Irish champion Brian Kennedy of Edenderry BC . Jason started the first round slow and it cost him the first round , but after a grilling from his dad and coach the Sligo boxer came out to the second round a different man winning the round 3/2. It all boiled down to the last round, after a high tempo last round the judges favoured the rangy Offaly boxer on a close split decision awarding Jason a silver medal. Next up was Sligo Paris Olympian Dean Clancy in his first competition since the summer games . This weight division 65kg was stacked with talented established and up and coming boxers. Dean first faced Anthony Malanaphy of Erne BC Enniskillen securing a unanimous victory. Next up for the Sligo boxer was talented Portlaoise boxer Johnny Harty. ADVERTISEMENT Dean's strength and experience proved too much for the Munster boxer securing another 5/0 victory setting up a final against the current elite champion Jason Nevin of Mullingar BC. a lot was riding on this fight for Dean to secure himself as the best light welterweight in the country. The Sean McDermott boxer put on a masterclass display of boxing to get the unanimous 5/0 victory. The win puts Dean in pole position for the upcoming world championships in Liverpool this September. The World Championships are the first step in qualification for the 2028 LA Olympics, and to top the week of boxing, Dean got best boxer of the tournament - a great achievement with such established world, European and Olympians entered.

Welsh ambulance bosses won't commit to clarity
During his time in charge, ambulance waiting times have increased fourfold across Wales. Mr Killens said the situation had to be addressed. Mr Killens has been Wales ambulance boss for more than six years, a period which coincides with a fourfold increase in Welsh ambulance waiting times. The Argus contacted the service to ask whether Gwent and the Aneurin Bevan Health Board Area could see an improvement in ambulance services soon. However, the Service was not willing to give any assurances or openly comment or speculate on future services in the area. This week, Mr Killens told BBC news that ambulance waiting times were causing a lot of avoidable harm to patients across Wales, a situation he regrets. However, he claims the service is now in a better position after his time in charge. Speaking out this week, the departing ambulance boss said hundreds of patients come to avoidable harm because ambulances are forced to wait outside A&E departments. This service choke, which has been blamed for agonising ambulance waits, has been dubbed 'handover delays.' These delays occur when hospitals are choked and this can cause things such as long waits in ambulances for patients and a slowing down of ambulance dispatches. The situation is said to be beyond the control of ambulance services and a matter for hospital managers and policy makers. Last year's Wales-wide average monthly loss was more than 29,000 hours. In response to our questions about possible improvements in the Gwent area, the Wales Ambulance Service said: 'As Jason's already set out his position on handover delays, it doesn't make sense for us to issue a comment in response to his views when you've already had it from the horse's mouth, as it were.' Jason Killens began working for the Wales Ambulance Service in 1996 and leaves his Wales-based post in July. The South Wales Argus has approached the Welsh Government for a comment on whether ambulance delays are a matter for Welsh policy makers and hospital managers.

Brutal, right? But what if Rockstar really goes there, just like they did with Arthur Morgan's heartbreaking ending in Red Dead Redemption 2? Let's break it down because if GTA 6 has a dual betrayal ending, it might just be the most savage twist in Rockstar history. Rockstar Loves Tragedy (And So Do We) Red Dead Redemption 2 didn't just end; it wrecked us. Dutch turned into a paranoid wreck, Micah was the absolute worst, and Arthur? He died betrayed, broken, but redeemed. Rockstar doesn't do "happy ever after." From Tommy Vercetti to Niko Bellic to Arthur Morgan — every story ends in loss, pain, or a moral gut-punch. GTA 5 gave us three endings, but the one fans call 'the canon' has all three protagonists survive. Red Dead 2? Not so lucky.
