Sara Kouskova hangs on to win in Teneriffe, top 20 for Lauren Walsh

Sara Kouskova hung on to win the Tenerife Women's Open by a shot, with Ireland's Lauren Walsh five adrift of the winner after a closing 72. Czech player Kouskova, after claiming the Jabra Ladies Open a fortnight ago, finished with a 71 to stand on nine under, just ahead of Germany's Helen Briem. The winner made five birdies in her round but a bogey on seven and a double-bogey six on the par-four 16th threatened to derail her quest at Abama Golf. A couple of pars to finish kept here out in front, this after Briem made birdie on 17. BACK-TO-BACK 🏆🏆 #OpenTenerife — Ladies European Tour (@LETgolf) June 8, 2025 For Walsh, Sunday's round was an improvement of the horror-show of her 77 on Saturday, though dropped shots on 16 and 18 proved costly as she aimed for a higher position, settling in the end for a share of 14th on four under.

Diksha stays within top 10 after third round

Tenerife , Indian golfer Diksha Dagar carded an even par 72 to hold her position within the top 10 after the third round of the Tenerife Women's Open at Abama Golf here. Diksha was five-under for three days and is placed sole 9th in the standings. She is three shots behind the leader Sara Kouskova at eighth-under. The other Indian to make the cut in Tenerife, Avani Prashanth played an even par third round and is now placed at 43rd on the leaderboard. Sara Kouskova surged ahead of the field on the third day with a round of three-under 69 and now leads by one stroke. The Czech national won the Jabra Ladies Open just last week and is in prime position to follow the title with one more this week. Diksha started her day with a birdie on the first hole before dropping shots on the sixth and eighth holes by the time she was hallway through the round. On the back nine, Diksha picked up a shot on the 10th hole before dropping one back on the 13th and picking up one more on the 16th to make sure she is still placed in the Top-10. Avani started her round with back-to-back birdies on the 10th and 11th holes and then dropped a double bogey on the 16th. On the front nine she dropped two more shots on the first hole with another double bogey before picking them back up on the third and sixth holes. She would drop a shot immediately on the seventh and then birdie the eighth to close the day with a par score on a roller-coaster day. Kouskova only dropped one shot during her third round on the 12th hole. She made birdies on the sixth, 11th, 14th and 17th holes. Shannon Tan of Singapore is in tied second place alongside Ana Pelaez Trivino of Spain and Noora Komulainen of Finland. The Singaporean national carded 72, while Ana and Noora played rounds of six-under 66 and three-under 69 respectively to place themselves one shot behind the leader. Order of merit leader Mimi Rhodes played carded three-under 69 to move into tied 10th with Patricia Isabel Schmidt and second day leader Lauren Walsh. Lauren Walsh slips back after a challenging day on the greens in Tenerife

The Castlewarden star (24) fired rounds of 67 and 68 to claim a two-shot lead at halfway at Abama Golf. But she bogeyed four of her first 11 holes in round three before making a double bogey six at the 15th in a 34-putt round. The Carton House touring professional fought back with a birdie at the par-five 17th, but at four-under, she's tied for tenth, four strokes behind the Czech Republic's Sara Kouskova. 'It was nice and steady today,' said Kouskova, who shot 69. 'Patient, I would say. Lots of solid shots and a great save at the 18th. 'I think yesterday was tough towards the end. I struggled to keep my focus when I was finishing. So it was nice to get it going today. I'm looking forward to some rest!' Kouskova claimed her maiden win in the Jabra Ladies Open at Evian Resort in her last start two weeks ago, but she is not getting ahead of herself in the Canaries. 'I try not to think about it [winning again],' she said. 'I'm just happy that I'm hitting good shots and we're making good decisions. We'll see what tomorrow brings.' Walsh still has a chance to record her maiden win, but with the top 12 players covered by just four strokes, it may require a low final round. Spain's Ana Pelaez Trivino, Singapore's Shannon Tan and Finland's Noora Komulainen are just a shot off the lead on seven-under-par. Germany's Helen Briem, Austria's Emma Spitz, Italy's Alessandra Fanali and New Zealand's Amelia Garvey lie just two strokes behind, while India's Diksha Dagar sits a shot further back on five-under-par. Walsh rounds out the top 10, four shots behind alongside Order of Merit number one Mimi Rhodes from England and Germany's Patricia Isabel Schmidt.

Rookie Avani finishes as top Indian in 28th place at Jabra Ladies Open

Avani Prashanth finished as the highest-placed Indian player at the Jabra Ladies Open as a final round card of two-under 69 helped her to tie-28th in the event being played at the Evian Resort Golf Club near here in southeastern France. India's other players were Hitaashee Bakshi and Tvesa Malik at T-34 and Diksha Dagar at T-39. Czech player Sara Kouskova played a strong final round of four under par to secure her first LET title by two shots over her closest competitor, Shannon Tan. Kouskova carded 67 for a 10-under total and two better than Shannon (68) at 8-under. Avani has had a strong season and has failed to cut only twice this year in eight starts. Avani, a winner on her home Tour Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour (WPGT), while being an amateur, has had three Top-20 finishes in her rookie year. Avani had a great start to the final day at the Evian Resort Golf Club. Starting from the sixth, she made three birdies, and her first dropped shot was on the 11th, and another came on the 14th. On her next nine, she birdied the 16th, bogeyed the 17th, birdied the first, and totalled even par 213 for three days. Hitaashee Bakshi, who looked primed for a top 10 finish after her second-day score of five under par 66, struggled on the final day as she carded a six over par for the day and fell back to tied 34th in the standings. The round included seven bogeys and only one birdie for a card of 77 and a final score of two over par. Tvesa had a slow start to the tournament as she played four over par on the first day. However, stable performances on the second and third day with scores of 70 one under par helped her move up to tied 34 by the end of the event with a final score of two over par. Diksha carded a 73, two over par on the last day, to finish the event with a total score of three over par. Kouskova started the round on the front nine and made birdies on the seventh and eighth holes. She continued her strong run in the back nine with another birdie on the 10th hole. Despite a small stumble with a bogey on the 14th hole, Kouskova was able to seal the round with back-to-back birdies on the two final holes of the round. This win takes Kouskova into the third spot in the order of merit. On the second day leader Chiara Tamburlini finished the tournament in tied-5th. She continued to remain a beacon of consistency with another op-5 finish. Tamburlini moved into the fourth spot in the order of merit. The Order of Merit leader, Mimi Rhodes, finished tied 32nd in the standings despite her struggles on the second day with a score of 76, five over par for the round. On the final day, Rhodes played a 69 to bring her total score to one over par for the tournament. Cara Gainer of England secured a tied third place in the standings alongside Maha Haddioui of Morocco and remained second in the Order of Merit behind Mimi Rhodes.
