Al Jabr Trading Company supports hands-on EV training at Wadi Al-Dawasir Technical Institute
Dammam, Saudi Arabia — As part of its ongoing commitment to technical education and social responsibility, Al Jabr Trading Company provided a new JMEV GSE electric vehicle from JMC to the Secondary Industrial Institute in Wadi Al-Dawasir. This contribution supports the institute's 'Electric Vehicle Training' initiative launched by its Department of Engines and Vehicles. The four-day training program included specialized workshops and intensive hands-on sessions covering EV components, operating mechanisms, routine maintenance, safety systems, and advanced technologies. Trainees conducted direct technical inspections on the vehicle, gaining practical skills that prepare them for the job market. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goal to promote sustainable, eco-friendly transportation and empower national talent to keep pace with the latest automotive technologies, particularly in the electric vehicle sector. The JMEV GSE model stands out as one of JMC's top electric vehicles, combining modern design, efficient electric performance, and high reliability. It features a robust lithium battery with a 500Km range, fast-charging capabilities, smart interior systems, and advanced safety features — making it ideal for applied training environments. In recognition of Al Jabr's efforts, Eng. Mousa bin Abdulqader Al-Safran, representative of the institute, presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Jabr, Vice President of Al Jabr Trading Company. Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Al Jabr said: "We take pride in our collaboration with national educational institutions and believe in supporting programs that enhance students' skills and prepare them for the evolving automotive sector — especially as the world and Saudi Arabia transition towards electric vehicles. We will continue working to expand the availability of EVs in the Kingdom as part of our strategic plan to provide sustainable, future-ready transport solutions.'

E-rickshaws barred from major roads, flyovers
1 2 Jaipur: The traffic control board in Jaipur decided in a meeting Thursday to ban operation of e-rickshaws and e-carts on Ajmer Road, Delhi Road, Agra Road, and road overbridges in the city. It was decided to ban e-rickshaws on overbridges like Bharat Jodo Setu, Tonk Road flyover, Gopalpura flyover, Durgapura flyover, Sanganer flyover, and Ajmer Road flyover. E-rickshaws will also be banned between Purani Chungi Naka and Hirapura Bus Terminal on Ajmer Road, between Ghat Ki Ghuni and 52 Feet Hanuman Ji on Agra Road, between Ramgarh Mod and Amer Ghat on Delhi Road, and between Metro Station Mansarovar and 200 Feet Bypass on Ajmer Road. "On all routes of Jaipur city where e-rickshaw/e-cart have been banned, enough minibuses and 8–10-seater tempos and auto rickshaws, both CNG and LPG, are available. Due to this, commuters will not face any inconvenience," the JDA said in a statement Thursday. The traffic control board also approved a proposal to increase scope for 5,000 autorickshaws (CNG/LPG) over the existing 35,000 in the city. "Keeping in view the expansion in areas under JMC, increasing population, unemployment, and lack of means of safe and cheap transportation for tourists, the number of auto-rickshaws for the city has been increased," said a senior official.

Religious structure with bathtub inside, and other buildings: Why Jamnagar administration is clearing ‘encroachments' along Rangmati river
On Sunday, a video of a bathtub inside a religious structure in Jamnagar went viral on social media. Built on the banks of river Rangmati, the structure is among several others demolished by the Jamnagar police on Saturday as part of an ongoing anti-encroachment drive. On Sunday, police said, they cleared 71,933.5 square metres of encroached land on both banks of the river in an area known as Bachu Nagar, located at the heart of the city. 'There are all sorts of residential, commercial and religious encroachments here, totalling more than 600 structures. While we cleared 294 structures yesterday (June 14), in total, we have cleared about 400 till now,' said Jamnagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Premsukh Delu on Sunday, adding that the drive is being conducted in a phase-wise manner. The local administration has cited severe flooding, alleged encroachment by what they termed as miscreants, and plans for a riverfront development project, to rationalise the demolitions underway on Rangmati banks, one of the two rivers that flow through Jamnagar, the other being Nagmati. The Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) told the police that the valuation of the encroached land stood at approximately Rs 193.57 crore. Talking about the religious structure, the largest that the JMC and the police have cleared till now, Delu said, 'This particular religious structure was built like a fort and the inside was like a maze. The premises were large and built over 11,000 square feet (1,021 sq metres). There were several rooms and a bathtub inside. Outside the room, there was a warning that entry is restricted and allowed only by permission.' Detailing on who took the action, Delu said, 'It is a joint action by the JMC and the District Police. Apart from illegal homes of miscreants on our list, the civic body is also working on its pre-monsoon plan. There are plans to develop this area into a riverfront as well.' Delu stated that encroachments are located mainly outside the walled city of Jamnagar, on the river banks. 'Because of this, the river used to extend right up to the walls, causing the encroachments to enter deep into the river bed,' he added. SP Delu said that Jamnagar city has regularly been facing a problem of severe flooding. 'The CM's (Bhupendra Patel) first visit after assuming office was to Jamnagar due to the floods. Last year (2024), again there were floods. The encroachment on the river is the reason why this problem was exacerbated,' the SP added.
