Govt school student secures IIT-M seat with help from NIT-T coaching club
Trichy: R Muhilraj, a student of Arignar Anna Government Higher Secondary School in Pachaperumalpatti village, Thuraiyur, has secured admission to the Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering programme at IIT Madras after cracking JEE Advanced 2025 with an All India Rank (AIR) of 1,751. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now His achievement was supported by IGNITTE, the student-run teaching club of the National Institute of Technology, Trichy (NIT-T), which offers free coaching and mentorship to underprivileged students. Muhilraj had earlier secured admission to NIT Silchar based on his JEE Mains 2024 score. Encouraged by IGNITTE mentors, he attempted JEE Advanced after improving his percentile to 95.88 through focused vacation coaching and one-on-one mentoring. IGNITTE selects 20 students each from Trichy and Tirunelveli districts every year through a screening test and interview process, offering them coaching for competitive exams and career guidance.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) has invited the top 200 all-India rankers of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025 to visit its campus in Chennai -- and is footing the bill for their air travel, along with one parent per move is aimed at giving the country's brightest engineering aspirants a closer look at campus life, academic facilities, and the opportunities that come with being part of one of India's premier institute hopes that the visit will help students make an informed decision before choosing their IIT and course preferences during counselling. Each year, after the declaration of JEE Advanced results, the top rankers are wooed by several IITs through outreach campaigns, alumni meets, and personal counselling IIT Madras has gone a step further this year by covering the airfares for both the student and one parent. Out of the 1.8 lakh students who appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, more than 54,000 qualified for Gupta from the IIT Delhi zone secured the All India Rank 1 with a score of 332 out of 360 marks. Samsung R&D Institute, IIT Madras sign MoU to drive research on AI for Indian Languages, HealthTech & more
Samsung R&D Institute, Noida (SRI-N) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras with a focus on pioneering advancements in AI for Indian languages, HealthTech and emerging areas such as Generative AI. The partnership is aimed at driving collaborative research, accelerate technology development, and nurture future-ready talent. The five-year MoU was signed by Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director, SRI-N and Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, a press statement informed.
