200 JEE toppers, parent to get free flight to IIT Madras for special campus tour
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) has invited the top 200 all-India rankers of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025 to visit its campus in Chennai -- and is footing the bill for their air travel, along with one parent per move is aimed at giving the country's brightest engineering aspirants a closer look at campus life, academic facilities, and the opportunities that come with being part of one of India's premier institute hopes that the visit will help students make an informed decision before choosing their IIT and course preferences during counselling. Each year, after the declaration of JEE Advanced results, the top rankers are wooed by several IITs through outreach campaigns, alumni meets, and personal counselling IIT Madras has gone a step further this year by covering the airfares for both the student and one parent. The visit includes guided campus tours, interactions with faculty, lab visits, hostel walkthroughs, and a chance to meet current students and to the media, an IIT Madras official said, 'We want to create a welcoming experience and show students what life here is really like -- not just in terms of academics, but also community, research, and support.'The invited students will also get to explore the institute's recent developments in cutting-edge research, innovation labs, entrepreneurship cells, and global top rankers and their parents welcomed the gesture. 'We had read a lot about IIT Madras, but being here gives us a much clearer picture. It helps to walk through the labs, see the hostels, and speak directly with professors,' said a parent from ADVANCED RESULT 2025The results of JEE Advanced 2025 were declared on June 2 by IIT Kanpur, the organising institute for this year. Out of the 1.8 lakh students who appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, more than 54,000 qualified for Gupta from the IIT Delhi zone secured the All India Rank 1 with a score of 332 out of 360 marks. He had earlier scored full marks in both sessions of JEE him were Saksham Jindal with the same score and Majid Mujahid Husain with a score of 330, securing AIR 2 and 3 respectively. 3 city students shine in JEE Advanced, secure top 15 All-India Ranks
MUMBAI: Three city students have secured top All India Ranks (AIR) under 15 in the highly competitive Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. Parth Vartak (AIR 4), Sahil Deo (AIR 7), and Arnav Nigam (AIR 11), all 17-year-olds, have all opted to pursue Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. Parth Vartak: AIR 4 Parth Vartak attributes his exceptional performance to focused preparation and strategic practice. 'I used to study almost 14 to 15 hours a day. Practising question papers helped me a lot,' said Vartak, a resident of Vile Parle. He completed his Class 10 from Lilavatibai Podar High School and enrolled at Narayana E-Techno School in Marol for junior college. To save precious commuting time during his preparation, his family temporarily shifted closer to the coaching centre. 'Even though Vile Parle and Marol aren't far apart, we moved to optimise my study hours,' said Vartak, whose mother, Mrunal, is a doctor and father, Mandar, an engineer. While thrilled about joining IIT Bombay's CSE programme, Vartak remains open to different career paths. 'Whether I choose research or a corporate job will depend on how my interests evolve during higher studies. Right now, my focus is to perform well at IIT Bombay,' he said. Sahil Deo: AIR 7 For Sahil Deo, consistency and discipline were the cornerstones of success. After moving from Nashik to Mumbai to attend Narayana E-Techno School, Marol, Deo followed a rigorous daily routine—studying from 8 am to 11 pm with just two short breaks. 'I had full faith in my teachers and the weekend tests. They helped me a lot in my success,' said Deo. His father, Mukesh, a mechanical engineer, actively supported his preparations, while his elder brother Vedant, a CSE graduate from IIT Delhi, served as a mentor and motivator. Deo, too, is headed to IIT Bombay for computer science. 'I want to complete my graduation in CSE and build a strong career in the corporate world,' he shared. Arnav Nigam: AIR 11 Approaching the exam with a calm and composed mindset helped Arnav Nigam secure AIR 11. 'Without taking pressure about the score or rank, I appeared for the exam with a natural mindset. That kept me stress-free,' said Nigam, who resides in Goregaon. After completing Class 10 at Vibgyor High School, Nigam pursued his higher secondary education at Chaitanya Academy. His academic prowess extended beyond JEE—he also qualified for several national-level Olympiads, including the Indian National Chemistry Olympiad (INChO), Physics Olympiad (INPhO), Astronomy Olympiad (INAO), and Mathematical Olympiad (INMO). 'These exams helped deepen my conceptual understanding, which was crucial for JEE Advanced,' he explained. His father is an engineer, and his mother holds a PhD in economics—both have been pillars of support in his academic journey. Nigam, too, will join IIT Bombay's CSE programme. Looking ahead, he aspires to specialise in artificial intelligence and machine learning. 'I want to use these advanced skills for the betterment of society,' he said.

Bengaluru lads shine in JEE, five secure top rankings
BENGALURU: Students from Bengaluru once again made a mark in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025, with several candidates securing top ranks under the All India Rank (AIR) 100. The results were announced on Monday. Topping the charts is Daksh Tayaliya, a student of Vedantu Online Program, who secured an AIR of 15. He also scored a perfect 120 out of 120 in Mathematics.

Five students from Telangana, AP make it to JEE top 20 list
Hyderabad: Five students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh secured a spot on the top 20 rank holders list in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025, the results of which were released on Monday. The IIT-Hyderabad zone, comprising the two Telugu states apart from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, saw 23 candidates feature in the top 100. A total of 12,946 students from this zone qualified in the examination. Hyderabad boy Arnav Singh secured an All-India Rank (AIR) 9, while Vadlamudi Lokesh from AP clinched AIR 10. The other three students in the top 20 were: Dharmana Gnana Rutvik Sai (AIR 18), Vangala Ajay Reddy (AIR 19), and Avanaganti Anirudh Reddy (AIR 20). All toppers said they want to pursue a B Tech in computer sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B). "I have been interested in engineering since I was 12. I always wanted to study computer science, and I am very happy that I can now fulfil my dream," an elated Lokesh told TOI. The teenager, son of an NGO employee from Vijayawada, said he started preparing for the exam in class 7 and had been staying away from his family — at a residential coaching centre in Hyderabad — for the last six years for this. The two states also threw up several category toppers. While Ajay emerged as all-India topper in the General-Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category, Rutvik stood at the top of the charts in the OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer) category. Korikana Rasagnya, who secured AIR 78 was the female topper from the state. "I regret making some silly mistakes in the exam. Else, I would have definitely secured a spot in the top 5. However, I am happy that I am the topper in the General-EWS category," said Ajay, a resident of Kurnool, who has been living in Hyderabad since class 9. Many students who secured ranks from the other zones are also students of the two corporate colleges – Narayana Group and Sri Chaitanya Group — that have their main campuses in the Telugu states. Meanwhile, students from social and tribal welfare and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Telangana also scored well, especially in the SC and ST categories. While G Soniya from EMRS secured AIR 63 in the ST category, N Shiva from the tribal welfare society clinched the AIR 95 position in the same category.
