Robert Green, 70, allegedly harassed the Beeb's Anne McAlpine between February 2021 and November 2024. It is claimed the OAP repeatedly sent letters, poems, cards and gifts for Miss McAlpine to the BBC Scotland headquarters in Glasgow's Pacific Quay as well as to her home. Green is also said to have turned up at her property uninvited, loitered outside and asked to come in. He then faces a separate charge that he was subject to an "undertaking" to appear at court in January this year in connection with the alleged offence. Advertisement Green had been ordered not to approach, communicate or contact Miss McAlpine. But, it is claimed that on November 14 2024 he went near where she lived and again tried to get in touch with her. On a further charge sheet, Green is also said to have not shown at a court date in January this year. The case called this week for a summary hearing - a case with no jury - at Glasgow Sheriff Court. Advertisement Green, of the city's Hillhead, was not present. His lawyer, Ron Mackenna said he had reported having "serious surgery" a few days earlier and was unable to leave home. A sheriff told the solicitor that Green must provide proof of that by this week or a warrant will be issued for his arrest. The case will be heard again at a later date. Roddy MacPherson: Body found in search for missing walker on Skye
A body has been found in the search for a walker, four days after he went missing on the Isle of MacPherson, 67, was last seen on Monday outside Sligachan Hotel, walking in the direction of the Sligachan Scotland said the body of a man was discovered by officers and local mountain rescue teams on the Cuillins on Friday force said the family of Mr MacPherson, who was reported missing on Wednesday, had been informed. Formal identification has yet to take place but officers said there would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the MacPherson was described as an "experienced walker" in a previous police appeal.A spokesperson for Skye mountain rescue team said "extensive searches" had been carried added: "Around midday on Friday, with improved weather and cloudless tops, a body was sighted on a grassy ledge high on the cliffs between Harta and Lota Corries." The team expressed its condolences to Mr MacPherson's family and friends.

Body found in search for experienced walker on Isle of Skye
A body has been found in the search for a missing walker who vanished on the Isle of Skye. Roddy MacPherson, 67, was reported missing on Wednesday and his family have been informed. He was last seen on Monday outside Sligachan Hotel, walking in the direction of the Sligachan Bridge, and has not been heard from since. Mr MacPherson was described as an 'experienced walker' in an appeal by Police Scotland. On Friday afternoon, the body of a man was traced by police and local mountain rescue teams on Cuillins. There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. Formal identification has yet to be made. A spokesperson for Skye mountain rescue team (MRT) said: 'Extensive searches were carried out, mainly focusing on the Red Hills and parts of the Northern Cuillin. On Thursday, thanks to helpful information from a local guide, efforts shifted to the area around Bruach na Frithe. 'Around midday on Friday, with improved weather and cloudless tops, a body was sighted on a grassy ledge high on the cliffs between Harta and Lota Corries. It was immediately clear that lowering the casualty to safety would be long and technically demanding. 'A team member was lowered to a position above and confirmed there were no signs of life, and that significantly more equipment would be needed. Fortunately, Stornoway Coastguard helicopter R948 was able to return and carry out a direct lift from the ledge — an incredible effort and a huge relief. 'The helicopter later returned multiple times to help extract the teams and equipment back to Sligachan. 'Skye MRT contributed over 350 hours to this search — not including the time and effort given by Police Scotland (N division), Royal Air Force mountain rescue service, Kintail mountain rescue, Glenelg mountain rescue, Search and Rescue Dog Association Scotland, local Coastguard teams including HM Coastguard – Portree, Isle of Skye, and helicopter crews of R948 and R951. 'Our sincere thanks to all involved. Thanks also to the Sligachan Hotel for feeding and supporting us on Wednesday night and Thursday. 'Skye MRT extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Roderick MacPherson at this very difficult time. While formal identification has yet to be made, we understand this will come as deeply sad news to those that knew him.'

Injured climber rescued after 15m fall on Skye mountain
A climber who fell 15m (50ft) on a mountain on the Isle of Skye has been rescued after suffering multiple Mountain Rescue said the incident happened on Tuesday on the north-west ridge of Sgùrr nan Eag, a 924m (3,000ft) munro in the Cuillin range.A coastguard helicopter carried 10 team members part way up the hill before the rescuers continued on foot to reach the casualty. The man was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and has since been rescue team said they had responded to almost 20 call-outs in May.
