According to an Alabama Department of Transportation news release, Scott Bridge Company will set steel bridge girders over Canal Road, and needs to close the road to do so.
The road will be closed for three days beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, and continuing until 6 p.m. June 26, the release said.
The closure will enable crews to safely install large bridge girders over the roadway. Detour signs will direct drivers to County Road 4 (Cotton Creek Drive) as an alternate route.
'This work marks another key step toward completing the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge,' the release said.
