What is the start time for the IndyCar race Xpel Grand Prix at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis.?
The IndyCar Series returns to the road when it competes at Road America's 14-turn, 4-mile course in the Wisconsin countryside for a 55-lap race. Push-to-pass: Drivers have 200 total seconds, in increments of up to 20 seconds. Tire allotment: Six sets primary (hard/black sidewall) and five sets alternate (soft/red sidewall) for the weekend. Rookie drivers are allowed one additional set of primary tires. Teams must use one set of primary and one set of new (sticker) alternate tires for at least two laps in the race. Nathan Brown is your best IndyCar follow, and keep up with coverage throughout the season with IndyStar's motorsports newsletter. Alex Palou has won five races and leads by more than one race of max points. Kyle Kirkwood has won three races. However, Pato O'Ward leads Kirkwood for second place overall. 'A lot of work to do': Alex Palou doesn't think his IndyCar championship lead is safe Team Penske swept the podium: Will Power, followed by Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin. From Nathan Brown, IndyStar We're reaching the halfway point of a 17-race season, and Palou and Kirkwood have hogged all the checkered flags. Is anyone besides Alex Palou or Kyle Kirkwood allowed to win a race? If so, who? Fortunately ... or unfortunately ... depending your fandom, this feels like an 'Alex Palou rebound' weekend. In four years racing at Road America for Chip Ganassi Racing, he has two wins and took 4th last year. I don't expect him to settle for a bunch of top-5 finishes the rest of the way. Palou's going to win again, and coming off finishes of 25th and 8th since his Indy 500 victory, this feels like the weekend. Who will have a surprising qualifying effort? Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing rookie Louis Foster will make a Fast 6 appearance, a much-needed boost for a team that has seen all three of its full-time cars finish 20th or worse in both races since the Indy 500. RLL has a strong history at Road America. Team Penske swept the podium last year at Road America but had a horrible time in St. Louis last weekend? How will it fare this weekend? The team will again fall short of its first win of the year, but we'll see a return to the podium for just the fourth time this season, delivered by Will Power, who won last year's race. Block the noise: Malukas knows 'I need to mature' on track, 'switch off' rumors When will it happen next?: IndyCar paddock believes 'every oval should be a night race' A matter of eyeballs: Why IndyCar's 1 million viewers is good ... but not as good as it looks (All times ET; all IndyCar sessions are on IndyCar Live, IndyCar Radio and Sirius XM Channel 218) 3:30-4:30 p.m.: Indy NXT practice, FS2 4:30-6 p.m.: IndyCar practice, FS2 10-11 a.m.: Indy NXT practice, FS1 11 a.m.-noon: IndyCar practice, FS1 1:30-2 p.m.: Indy NXT qualifying, FS1 2:30-4 p.m.: IndyCar qualifying, FS1 10 a.m.: IndyCar warmup, FS1 11 a.m.-noon: Indy NXT race, FS1 1:30 p.m.: IndyCar race, Fox TV: Coverage begins at 1:30 p.m. ET, Sunday, June 22, 2025, on Fox. IndyCar Series 2025 drivers championship, Rookie of the Year, Leaders Circle standings after Bommarito 500
The 2025 IndyCar Series season nearing its halfway point. Alex Palou has won five races, most notably the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kyle Kirkwood has won three. Here's where the drivers and teams stand in the season-long points, Rookie of the Year and Leaders Circle races. Wild night in St. Louis: IndyCar results: Kyle Kirkwood earns third win of the season at St. Louis (Through eight of 17 races) Robert Shwartzman finished 10th at World Wide Technology Raceway, while Jacob Abel finished 21st and Louis Foster 26th after contact. IndyCar's Leaders Circle program pays eligible teams just over $1 million the following season in guarantees. To qualify for one of the 22 spots, the entry must be associated with one of IndyCar's 25 charters — teams are allowed to have a maximum of three. Only Prema Racing's two cars remain unchartered. The 25 chartered cars are then ranked by entrant points and, at the end of this season, the top 22 eligible entries will be paid $1.2 million or more by Penske Entertainment throughout the 2026 season. Here are the cars around the bubble after IndyCar's race at World Wide Technology Raceway: 19. Andretti Global No. 28, 114 points 20. Chip Ganassi Racing No. 8, 112 points 21. Arrow McLaren No. 6, 104 points 22. Juncos Hollinger Racing No. 77, 88 points ------------------------------------------------------------- 23. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing No. 45, 81 points 24. IndyCar star in terrifying crash ordeal as 180mph smash flips car into air
Josef Newgarden and Louis Foster were involved in a horrific crash during an IndyCar Series race, with both drivers somehow managing to avoid any serious injuries Two-time IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden was involved in a terrifying crash during a race at Gateway, with his car flipping upside down after making contact with Louis Foster's vehicle. The incident occurred midway through the race when Foster lost control of his car and spun into the wall. His vehicle then shot across the track directly into Newgarden's path, leaving him unable to avoid a collision while travelling at 180mph. The crash sent Newgarden flying into the air, with his car landing on its roof and skidding down the track. Both Newgarden and Foster remarkably avoided serious injury and were released after being assessed at the infield medical centre. "Just got a bit too high on to the dark stuff," Foster explained. "I had a wiggle and then I just got into the marbles and was a complete passenger. "At that point [I hit the wall], I bent my toe link. I just couldn't stop the car from spinning there. Obviously, a pretty scary impact for myself and Josef. I'm glad he's OK." The race was able to continue after the crash and Kyle Kirkwood ended up claiming his third victory of the season to move up to third in the driver standings. "My first oval win; I'm over the moon right now," Kirkwood said. "Ovals have eluded me for a very long time, so it's nice to get that first one and break that ice. An oval win and a road course win is what I wanted. "I didn't want people just to think of me as a street course guy or else they'll just have me going to street courses. A little bit of job security there. This is a big one, a big one for the guys. This is huge, massive. "The starts and the restarts were big. We were not too happy with the car yesterday, and we got some help from the teammates and made the car really good. "In the beginning, I really didn't think we had it, but as it got dark and it cooled down, this No. 27 Andretti Global Honda just came alive."

IndyCar Bommarito Automotive Grand Prix near St. Louis live leaderboard, crashes
Team Penske starts up from in tonight's IndyCar Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway near St. Louis in Madison, Ill. Will Power won pole position for the 260-lap race on the 1.25-mile oval, averaging 180.329 mph. Teammate Scott McLaughlin starts 2nd — he started on pole the previous two years — and defending race champ Josef Newgarden starts 5th. Nathan Brown is your best IndyCar follow, and keep up with coverage throughout the season with IndyStar's motorsports newsletter. We will have leaderboard updates, crashes and highlights, so remember to refresh. Be ready for the race: 10 drivers to watch at World Wide Technology Raceway Another delay: IndyCar shifts timeline for new car, creating complicated future Row 1 1, Will Power 2, Scott McLaughlin Row 2 3, Pato O'Ward 4, David Malukas Row 3 5, Josef Newgarden 6, Marcus Armstrong Row 4 7, Felix Rosenqvist 8, Colton Herta Row 5 9, Alex Palou 10, Kyle Kirkwood Row 6 11, Scott Dixon 12, Alexander Rossi Row 7 13, Marcus Ericsson 14, Christian Lundgaard Row 8 15, Conor Daly 16, Callum Ilott Row 9 17, Devlin DeFrancesco 18, Rinus Veekay Row 10 19, Santino Ferrucci 20, Nolan Siegel Row 11 21, Louis Foster 22, Graham Rahal Row 12 23, Sting Ray Robb 24, Robert Shwartzman Row 13 25, Christian Rasmussen 26, Kyffin Simpson Row 14 27, Jacob Abel Alex Palou has won five races and leads by almost two full races' worth of max points. Kyle Kirkwood won the other two races. Josef Newgarden held off Team Penske teammate Scott McLaughlin for the win. Since 2019, Newgarden (four times) and Scott Dixon (two) are the only active drivers to win on this track. From Nathan Brown, IndyStar We're seven races into a 17-race season, and two drivers have taken checkered flags. Can a third driver enjoy the spoils? For this exercise, Alex Palou and Kyle Kirkwood are out of the equation. Who is most likely to earn his first win of the season?: I'll take the driver who's taken pole here each of the last two years and who in five starts in his career at the track is yet to finish outside the top-5: Scott McLaughlin. The Team Penske driver won twice on short ovals a year ago and finished runner-up at WWTR, too. It's been a rollercoaster of a year for McLaughlin, but I think he settles things a bit on Sunday. Something you don't see coming: Alex Palou will have another hiccup and finish outside the top-5, opening the door for his closest competitors in the championship race to chip away at his 90-point lead.
