Why naming your baby after their birthstone could see them lead a lucky life
Gemstone-inspired baby names are on the up - some you will have heard before while others are far more unusual Naming your children is one of the hardest decisions parents have to make. Your offspring will need to live with their name forever and it could even influence relationships, jobs opportunities, and first impressions in the future. Many parents-to-be will want meaningful names for their newborns. To help couples looking for inspiration, Diamonds Factory Ireland spoke exclusively with celebrity psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman. Inbaal explained that parents or carers looking for a spiritual boost when naming their new bundle of joy can turn to gemstone-themed names. As well as being lovely monikers, some of them carry specific connotations or symbolism. In fact, using a baby's birthstone as inspiration for their name is said to bring good luck and protection. Inbaal said: "Naming a child after anything valuable, is linked with the value of that item or element. "People who believe in the spiritual power of birthstones, might be more inclined to believe in the protective power of a jewel name, but the beauty of spirituality is that it is inclusive to everyone. "Belief is not necessary, and if you just like the sound, history or meaning of the name, that's also lovely. Spiritual luck and protection will be included anyway." More well-known names Emerald, Pearl, and Ruby make up the birth stones for May, June, and July tots. Inbaal explained how these monikers have grown in popularity, and carry a spiritual weight to them. "The name Emerald may simply mean 'green gem' but the colour green carries such a wealth of meaning inside it," Inbaal said. "Green signifies nature, growth and success. Green is the colour of the heart chakra, and to some, it is the colour of money. A jewel name can give a baby everlasting blessings, as jewels are very long-lasting." On Ruby, a hugely popular name for girls, the expert went on: "Ruby is known as the stone of the heart. "Girls carrying the name Ruby will be blessed with love, vitality, protection and vitality. Red stones also lean towards confidence and fearlessness." Opal also takes the stone spot for October - an up-and-coming name for baby girls related to healing and soothing. "Bestowing the name Opal on a child would bless them with creativity, inspiration and emotional balance," Inbaal shared. "All gemstones have their own qualities, so none are luckier or more spiritually valuable than another, but some may be more or less aligned with your own values." More unusual and, erm, 'out-there' names include Aquamarine and Periody. Aquarmine is March's stone for Tranquility and Courage, while Periody is August's stone for Prosperity and Protection. Although the meanings are nice, they might not be in the running for the next generation of kids' names. Revealed: The Love Island cast who should actually couple up, based on their astrology
We've got a text! And omg is it juicy. Tonight's [12 June] episode of Love Island will see the Islanders face their first recoupling of the season, in which the girls will pick who they want to couple up with, leaving two boys single. It comes at a very good time as no one is really in a committed relationship and two new boys entered the Villa last night - Shea and Remell. However, while the cast may think they know what's best for them, who they are destined to be with could actually all be written in the stars. Yep, ahead of tonight's recoupling we spoke with astrologer Inbaal Honigman, on behalf of OLBG, who revealed which Love Island contestants should actually couple up based on their tarot cards. And let's just say the results were interesting... Yep, you read that correctly, while Tommy, 22, may be all loved up with Megan after just a few days, according to Inbaal, American Toni, 24, is actually the better match for him. She pulled The 10 of Cups card for Tommy and a 3 of Cups for Toni, because of this she predicts they would be a good match. She describes Toni as "unapologetic and fully herself, and her taste in love is for someone faithful whose feelings are true," and the card for Tommy translates to meaning he is: "Loving and friendly, this card tells us of an uncomplicated guy who comes from a warm household and wants the same for himself. His ambition is to find love, and it could be absolutely anybody." So why are they a good match? "Those two really want to have an old fashioned love story, with flowers and violins and no drama," she explains. Ok, we're not sure how Megan is going to feel about this. But maybe she doesn't need to worry as according to Inbaal, Megan, 24, is much better suited to Dejon, 26, who is currently coupled up with Meg. Inbaal pulled the card of The 10 of Swords for Dejon, which means it's a "card of overthinking, and shows a person who takes everything to heart. All he wants is to be with someone who understands him, he's personality driven and has a kind heart. He can turn even the slightest situation into a whole drama, and will have his heart broken." As for Megan, well her card the Page of Cups reveals Megan is, "Caring and sensitive. She'll be truthful and will believe everyone, even the least reliable contestants. She believes in true love and will look for someone to reflect that back to her. Tears will come when she finds out that not everyone is as honest as she is." So why are they better suited to each other than their others? Inbaal suggests as they're both "sensitive souls" they would fit well together. She adds that they would, "Both look after each other and be open to listening and talking about their emotions. They'll go out of their ways to ensure that their partner is happy and feeling heard." Meg, 25, shouldn't be too disappointed that Dejon is destined for someone else, as Inbaal suggests her more suited match is in fact new Islander Remell, 24. Inbaal drew the 6 of Cups card for Meg which shows she's "Quick to fall in love and quick to move on". Ooh ouch. She also noted this means Meg, "has no idea what she wants to find, and that will make her search for love search difficult." As for Remell she pulled the Rebirth card, which says he is "a guy who has a guard up. He likes people, but finds relationships complicated. He favours 'nice girl' vibes, but can only date someone who's as complex as he is." Their shared love of drama is what Inbaal argues will bring them together: "They both give as good as they get, and they'll enjoy high-octane drama together. Their relationship may appear challenging to the outsider, but they both love the twists and turns of a passionate romance." The only couple that are actually together on the show right now that Inbaal predicts should be together are Harry and Shakira. Shakira has the King of Pentacles card which means she is "loyal to her own image and business goals, there are no friends, only acquaintances," Inbaal argues. As for Harry he has The Chariot card which means, "He'd love to win a trophy, a girl who's gorgeous, well connected and wealthy. Emotions aren't central to him." Ugh, so why are they a good match? Well for Inbaal they connect on wanting to be a "power couple" and in the future they'd "want to have a life of luxury, and their goals are the same." Given how the teaser for tonight's episode shows a rift between the pair, it seems this could be power couple may be slipping away. Want even more Love Island gossip?
