Sydney Sweeney reveals how she prepared for challenging role in Echo Valley: 'When you have a scene partner like Julianne...'
is currently making waves with her challenging and brilliant portrayal in Echo Valley. Her performance is described as unsettling and a perfect portrayal of calculated chaos. The actress plays Claire Garrett, a troubled girl who arrives at her mother's ranch soaked in blood, triggering a series of events that uncover unsettling and dark secrets, which challenges their already fragile bond. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Sydney's performance is being applauded all around the globe and recently the actress shared how she prepared herself to play such a complicated role. In a recent interview with Variety, the 'Anyone but You' star opened up on working in Echo Valley and said, "When you have a scene partner like Julianne, it's not as hard as you would think. She is such an amazing actress and just so emotionally available and open, it makes you feel safe. So I felt very, very comfortable going to very deep raw places." Adding how she prepared for the part, the actress shared, "I watched a lot of videos. There's a YouTube series of this guy that interviews people on Skid Row that have struggled with addiction and are [still] currently. I watched a lot of them and drew from different stories that they would tell or mannerisms that they have." Adding further, "Sometimes, to be honest, I don't really plan anything, or I don't like to think it through. I don't know if that's great, but for me, it's like, you don't really rehearse a conversation that you're gonna have. Like, I didn't rehearse things out. I kind of like being able to see whatever's gonna happen, happen. It's really exciting. And then you can learn in the process and discover new things," she concluded. Sydney is set for the upcoming year with movies like Immaculate, Eden, and The Housemaid. She is also set to star in a movie adaptation of the video game Split Fiction and a remake of Barbarella.

Sydney Sweeney Stacks Two Custom Crimson Gowns Into a Single Premiere Night
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. While sultry, tight-fitting slips are still a celebrity staple, it seems their voluminous counterparts are back in the spotlight. Despite certain soirées' efforts to shrink the ballgown (ahem, the 2025 Cannes Film Festival), Cynthia Erivo, Elle Fanning, Lana Del Rey, Keke Palmer, and most recently, Sydney Sweeney are taking up sartorial space anyway. On June 4, Sweeney looked every bit a princess at the New York premiere of Echo Valley. Commissioned by Sweeney and her longtime stylist, Molly Dickson, Vera Wang created a custom ballgown for the actor's special night. Per the atelier, the crimson red design was constructed of Italian silk and featherweight faille. The strapless bodice featured a crumb-catcher neckline that flared up at each side. Her natural waistline cinched at the middle before stretching out into a hand-draped peplum atop the floor-length skirt. Layers upon layers of tulle petticoats peeked out from underneath the regal gown. To ensure all eyes went to Wang's work, Sweeney accessorized with minimal jewelry. Instead of a necklace, bracelets, and rings, she only wore stud diamond earrings, courtesy of Kwiat. Once the curtain closed at the Apple TV+ film's screening, Sweeney changed into a little red dress for the after-party. The leading lady dressed the part in a Vivienne Westwood-esque midi, complete with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a delicately-draped neckline. Marking her second LRD of the evening, it was in the same crimson shade as her ballgown. Sweeney's footwear was hidden during her first look of the night. Her after-hours attire, however, revealed complementary pointy pumps in the same vibrant color. If you kept tabs on Sweeney's press tour style for Echo Valley, you know she saved the most dramatic dress for last. Earlier that day, she was spotted in a nautical number from Coperni Fall 2025. Sweeney paired the vest and skirt with knee-high boots, Alexander McQueen sunglasses, and the Miu Miu Acadie Bag—a fitting selection for the brand ambassador. As the premiere's official step-and-repeat drew near, Sweeney delivered her final street style set: a menswear-inspired moment by Oscar de la Renta. Always on board for monochrome, the 27-year-old sported a plaid button-down with the coordinating trousers. Her baby blue heels brought out the set's matching stripes. To finish, Sweeney carried the Poppy Tote Bag, also from the New York label. Unlike her months-long Immaculate press tour last summer, she fit her Echo Valley events into only a few days. At this point, she's mastered the art of a speedy promo trail. This week, Sweeney debuted six stellar looks in under 48 hours—and gave the extra-oversize ballgown its due while she was at it. Give it up for the It girl.

'My Butt Got Huge.' Sydney Sweeney Had Major Gains To Play '90s Fighter Christy Martin, And It Sounds Like She Loved It
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. While Sydney Sweeney has taken over recent headlines (and presumably NSFW daydream scenarios) in connection with selling her bathwater in a soap, I'm personally more invested in seeing the actress mop the floor with opposing boxers in the upcoming 2025 movie about boxing icon Christy Martin. It's arguably the most athletic role yet for the busy actress, and she opened up about the big gains she experienced between first signing on for the role in early 2024 through to production wrapping in November. Speaking with W about the huge moves her career has taken in the three years since her HBO breakout series last aired — Euphoria Season 3 is on the way, but not until 2026 — Sweeney talked about going into a specific training mode in the timeframe before filming started, and how much she enjoyed that tempo change. In her words: I loved it. I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour. I think most fans would agree that Sydney Sweeney's body frame in projects like The White Lotus and Immaculate isn't the most intimidating, at least not in a way that trained fighters would fear. But it sounds like she enjoyed bulking up during the training process, during which she gained around 30 pounds, even if it made her more buxom and booty-ful along the way. As she put it: My body was completely different. I didn't fit in any of my clothes. I'm usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, Oh my god. But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong. No trailers have been released yet for the boxing biopic, which still doesn't have an official name locked in, and all we've seen is the first look showing off Sweeney's big arms. So it's unknown exactly when audiences will first get to see her going toe to toe with other boxers on Martin's awe-inspiring journey to becoming the most prolific and prominent female boxer to date, as well as the first of that distinction honored in the Boxing Hall of Fame. Just don't pay too much attention to Sweeney's boobs or butt in the trailer, or she'll put you down for the count. Director David Michôd, perhaps best known for 2010's Animal Kingdom and 2014's The Rover, talked about Christy Martin's impressive career and spoke highly of Sydney Sweeney's unending positivity throughout the production, despite any and all challenges that were presented. As he put it: Martin put female boxing on the map in the mid-'90s. She was the first woman fighter on the cover of Sports Illustrated and fought on the Mike Tyson undercard. Her husband was also her trainer, and then, after her success, he tried to murder her. Our film is a wild mix of inspiring underdog sports-world story and personal saga. Sydney trained her butt off to play the part. The beauty of Sydney is that she turned up to work every day with her tail wagging, ready to go. No matter how tough it was, she was like a ray of sunshine. As impressive as it is that Sweeney made all those gains to play Christy Martin, it's just as impressive that she necessarily shed the extra weight in the seven weeks between the biopic's end date and the start of her next project. I'd have to chop off an entire limb, I think. David Michôd said he was shocked to speak with Sweeney via FaceTime in the more recent past, saying she was in the makeup truck for Euphoria and was "stunned" that she'd gone from her Martin look to something "so glamorous" for the HBO series. Fans won't be missing Sydney Sweeney on the big or small screen for long in the future. She has Apple TV+'s dramatic thriller Echo Valley coming out on June 13, while Paul Feig's adaptation of The Housemaid is set for a Christmas Day release. Beyond that, there's the aforementioned third season of HBO's Euphoria, Sweeney's planned portrayal of Kim Novak in Scandalous!, her Barbarella movie, the upcoming video game adaptation for Split Fiction and even more.

Yes, You Can Now Buy Sydney Sweeney's Used Bathwater… In a Bar of Soap — GeekTyrant
Sydney Sweeney's post-Madame Web era has taken some wild turns, but this latest move is straight-up soap opera territory. Dr. Squatch, the men's soap brand best known for its rustic marketing and earthy scents, just announced a limited-edition bar of soap infused with actual bathwater from the actress herself. No, this isn't satire. Yes, it's real, and I don't even know what to say. It's so weird! Sweeney, who's been winning hearts and headlines with films like Anyone But You and Immaculate , has become an internet fixation. So when she starred in a viral Dr. Squatch commercial last year, lounging in a tub and calling viewers 'dirty little boys', the memes practically wrote themselves. Now, she's leaning all the way in. Sweeney told GQ: 'I honestly think it's a really fun, full-circle moment, because fans always joke about wanting my bath water. I was like, 'This is just such a cool way to have a conversation with the audience and give them what they want.' But then also hopefully encourage them to take care of themselves in a healthy way.' Dr. Squatch collected the actual water from her bath during the shoot. And yes, that water was used… sparingly, to craft this very limited soap. she explained. 'When we were at the [Dr. Squatch] shoot, they had a tub for me. And I actually got in there and I took some soap, and we had a nice little bath and they took the water. 'So it's my real bath water. I wanted to have it lean towards my home roots, so there's this really outdoorsy scent of, like, pine and earthy moss and fir. So it smells super manly. But then there's some city bath water mixed in.' Pine, moss, fir, and… Sweeney. It's not a scent profile you'd expect on a shelf next to sandalwood and cedar, but here we are. Most of these sudsy souvenirs will be given away through promotional contests, but a select few bars will be available for purchase. So if you've ever dreamed of getting that close to Sydney Sweeney, this might be the most hygienic way to do it. Whether this is peak internet or just brilliant branding, one thing's for sure, Dr. Squatch and Sweeney now has the geek world's full attention. That's cleaner than anything Madame Web ever pulled off.
