Moment furious hotel worker fights back against crowd of anti-tourism protesters as they seal off his business in Barcelona and bombard it with water guns and smoke canisters

A furious hotel worker fought back against a crowd of anti-tourism protesters who tried to seal off his workplace in Barcelona. Thousands of people took to the streets across Spain to demonstrate against overtourism on Sunday, with protestors seen firing water pistols at shop windows, setting off coloured smoke and clashing with police. Dramatic footage taken from outside a hotel called Generator shows an agitated worker as he confronted protesters saying he was 'only working' after furious activists tried to cordon off the building with tape. In the clip, the unnamed worker walks out of the hotel and cuts the tape off with a pair of scissors. But protesters erupt in anger and start to boo and blow whistles at the man while they quickly tape up the entrance of the hotel again and push him inside. In a separate video, the employee is seen spitting at the swarms of protesters, while another recording shows him taking a water pistol off a demonstrator to spray water on them. MailOnline has approached the hotel for comment. Authorities in the north eastern Spanish city said around 600 people joined the demonstration over the weekend. The employee is seen spitting at the swarms of protesters and firing a water gun at them Barcelona city of 1.6 million, drew 26 million tourists last year. There were similar demonstrations in other parts of Spain including Ibiza, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, San Sebastian and Granada. Thousands marching were heard telling Brits to 'go home' as they banged drums and chanted slogans at stunned tourists as they enjoyed their evening meals. The protests were organised by the Southern Europe Network Against Touristification (SET), and are supported by local activist groups. Many locals living in tourist hotspots in Spain believe the industry's model has become too excessive. They say the numbers of visitors continue to increase year by year, creating an increasing demand on local resources. They also complain that the overwhelming amount of tourist activity is causing environmental pollution, particularly in Tenerife, where natural landscapes are not being properly protected by local authorities, while a surge in pleasure boats and sewage waste are polluting the marine environment, they claim. More importantly, the explosion of Airbnb-style properties has seen property prices surge over the past five to 10 years. In holiday hotspots, landlords are choosing to rent to tourists instead of selling or renting to local families. A This is stripping housing supply and making the available stock far more expensive and out of reach for a growing number of locals. The protesters marched for over a kilometre before gathering in Plaza de Reina near to the seafront. A series of activists gave speeches demanding a 'drastic' change in laws regarding the tourism industry - including banning Airbnb style properties from the island. Dozens of officers from the armed National Police force were seen escorting the protesters throughout the march, which ended without incident. In Ibiza, another popular Spanish island for British holidaymakers, similar protests took place demanding reductions to tourism. Around 1,000 protesters took part in the march organised by major anti-tourism platform Canviem el Rumb, which has been carrying out demonstrations in the Spanish holiday hotspot over the last year. Security was stepped up to protect tourists from the demonstrators, who left Portal de Ses Taules in the town centre at around 6pm and ended at Plaza de sa Graduada, in front of the courts at 9pm. The protests aim to keep pressure on governments to address the problems generated by tourism, including rising rents, housing shortages and environmental damage. Activists believe the current tourism model is 'unsustainable' and pushing the islands toward collapse. They want to limit the number of tourists visiting the islands, ban new hotel construction and introduce a tougher tourist tax, among other measures.

Coleen Rooney shows off rock-hard abs in a bikini on holiday with husband Wayne in Ibiza

COLEEN Rooney showed off her sensational figure as she relaxed on the beach in Ibiza with husband Wayne. The mum-of-four - who came second in I'm A Celeb last year - revealed her rock-hard abs as she slipped into a tiny blue bikini. 7 7 7 7 Former Manchester United and England footballer Wayne also looked like your typical Brit holidaymaker, enjoying a glass of sparkling Sangria in the sunshine. The couple were spotted at the Cala Bassa Beach Club in Ibiza, with Wayne sporting a full beard and a black baseball cap. At one point Coleen, 39, treated herself to dip in the sea as she cooled off on the White Isle. She then joined Wayne at the beach bar, and the couple smiled and chatted as they enjoyed a peaceful moment in the sun. Wayne was also seen holding a can of Snus tobacco nicotine pouches. The England legend has smoked since he was a teenager but appears to be trying to kick the habit. It comes after The Sun told last month how Rebekah Vardy had £370,000 left to pay off from her eye-watering Wagatha Christie legal costs. The rival wags faced off one last time over Coleen's "assessment costs" as a judge ruled Becky should pay £212k on top of the £1.19million settlement, totalling at least £1.4million. A source told The Sun at the time: "Becky's breathing a sigh of relief today as she happily closes the chapter on this ongoing saga. "There are big plans coming up for her and so now she's 100 per cent focused on the future." Major blow for Becky Vardy as Coleen Rooney WINS latest Wagatha Christie battle It's claimed Becky paid off approximately two-thirds of the bill four years ago. Rebekah and husband Jamie Vardy have now put their luxury Portuguese villa on the market for a huge seven figure sum. The couple are hoping to fetch £9.7 million for the massive and incredibly luxurious pad - which boasts three pools, a gym and six bedrooms. 7 7 7

Coleen Rooney shows off her toned figure in a blue bikini as she soaks up the sun at beach club in Ibiza with husband Wayne - after winning Wagatha Christie battle

Coleen Rooney showed off her toned figure in a blue bikini as she soaked up the sun in Ibiza on Friday with her husband Wayne. The WAG and businesswoman, 39, was making the most of her time away at the Cala Bassa Beach Club on the party island. Coleen turned heads in a striking blue halter neck bikini, showing off her enviable figure as she cooled off with a swim before going to join Wayne for a drink at the club. She accessorised perfectly for the sunny day with a pair of designer Miu Miu shades and swept back her brunette tresses while topping up her tan. Former Manchester United and England footballer Wayne, also 39, looked every bit the holidaymaker as he reclined on a sun lounger with a glass of sparkling sangria in hand. The couple appeared completely at ease, smiling and chatting as they enjoyed some much-needed downtime in the sun. Coleen turned heads in a striking blue halter neck bikini, showing off her enviable figure as she cooled off with a swim before going join Wayne for a drink at the club Their holiday comes hot on the heels of Coleen's rival Rebekah Vardy speaking out on their Wagatha Christie drama. She has claimed she faced 'more scrutiny than murderers and paedophiles' amid the court case. In 2019, the WAG was publicly accused of leaking stories about Coleen to The Sun newspaper, which she furiously denied, resulting in a high profile court battle. Rebekah, 43, suffered further humiliation when she lost her libel case and in a fresh blow last month she was ordered to pay £1,190,000 of Coleen's legal bills. And this week the mother-of-five has claimed the backlash towards her was disproportionate and has continued to protest her innocence. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Rebekah insisted: 'I didn't sell stories to The Sun newspaper and that really is the end of it'. Claiming that she 'got the raw end of that', she continued: 'In fact, I think murderers and paedophiles have faced far less scrutiny than I did.' Yet Rebekah noted that now she's 'at peace' and is looking forward, in particular, to an upcoming Netflix documentary about husband Jamie. She also revealed that she is still in touch with Caroline Watt - her former agent - who she claimed was responsible for leaking the stories behind her back. After her swim they enjoyed a refreshing drink at the beach club She accessorised perfectly for the sunny day with a pair of designer Miu Miu shades and swept back her brunette tresses while topping up her tan She looked great in the flattering blue bikini Caroline was also the owner of a mobile phone filled with evidence that ended up at the bottom of the North Sea - or 'Davy Jones's locker' as it was famously dubbed in court. Rebekah claimed that Coleen's legal team had been 'unfair and completely unjust' in serving paperwork to Caroline's home rather than through her lawyers and that Caroline had been through 'considerable anguish'. Caroline did not testify during the trial, after being deemed 'not fit to provide oral evidence', and is yet to provide comment on the matter. When told that fans would be keen to hear Caroline's side of story, Rebekah mused: 'Well, maybe there's a different version of that completely.' Last month, the six-year legal battle finally came to an end when Rebekah agreed to pay £1,190,000 of Coleen's legal bill, plus was ordered to pay a further £212,266 in assessment costs, after sensationally losing their high-profile libel case. This takes the total Rebekah must pay to at least £1,402,266.20. MailOnline understands she has already paid some of the bill, including £800,000 four years ago and £100,000 last year. Coleen must also pay Rebekah a total of £135,097.50 in costs under the terms of court orders from 2024, which will be set off against what Rebekah must pay. A source close to Rebekah told MailOnline: 'It's a huge relief for Rebekah that this long legal battle is now coming to an end. 'She's looking forward to putting the whole ordeal well and truly behind her. 'Now she's just focusing on the future. And there are some big plans coming up for her now that she just wants to get cracking with.' Coleen ran up a legal bill of more than £1.8 million while successfully defending herself against Rebekah's High Court claim in 2022. After losing their High Court showdown, Rebekah was ordered to pay 90 percent of Coleen's legal costs. Her lawyer previously argued Coleen's team had used a 'kitchen sink' approach when calculating the total and included 'over £120,000 of costs to which Coleen has no entitlement'. It was also claimed the bill included costs for one of the WAG's team to stay at Nobu - a five star luxury hotel - and 'substantial dinner and drinks charges as well as mini bar charges'. The lawyer said Coleen's £1,833,906.89 legal bill was over three times her 'agreed costs budget of £540,779.07'. But Coleen's lawyer, Robin Dunne, had argued it was 'frankly outrageous' to accuse them of dishonesty. The catalyst for the famous Wagatha Christie case was a dramatic open letter written by Coleen and posted on social media in October 2019 in which she revealed she had turned detective to figure out who had been leaking the stories. Coleen publicly claimed Rebekah's account was the source behind three newspaper stories featuring fake details she had posted on her private Instagram profile - her travelling to Mexico for a 'gender selection' procedure, her planning to return to TV and the basement flooding at her home. What followed was a tearful appearance from Rebekah on ITV's Loose Women in February 2020 in which claimed the stress over the dispute had caused her to have anxiety attacks so severe she 'ended up in hospital three times'. The emotional display was met by Coleen with a statement to say she did not want to 'engage in further public debate' on the matter. Meanwhile Rebekah has been enjoying a holiday of her own this week with some girlfriends Four months later, in June 2020, Rebekah began legal proceedings against Coleen for libel with her lawyers alleging she had 'suffered extreme distress, hurt, anxiety and embarrassment as a result of the publication of the post and the events which followed'. When the case returned to the courts in February 2022, a series of explosive messages between Rebekah and her agent Caroline were revealed with Coleen's lawyers alleging they were about her. In May 2022, the women finally came face-to-face in court to give evidence as the Wagatha Christie trial began in the Royal Courts of Justice in London. Coleen secured her victory the next month when Mrs Justice Steyn delivered her verdict, dismissing the claim made by Rebekah and finding Coleen had proved the meaning of her famous accusatory letter was 'substantially true'. Whilst Coleen said she was 'pleased' the judge had ruled in her favour, Rebekah declared she was 'extremely sad and disappointed' at the decision.

Katie Price shows off the results of her 'painful' botched BBL in a VERY skimpy polka dot bikini as she hits the beach in Ibiza after sparking concern with her weight loss

She's already concerned fans with her shrinking frame. And despite confessing that her Brazilian Bum Lift was her most 'painful' cosmetic surgery to date, Katie Price was proudly showing off the results of her procedure during her trip to Ibiza. Heading to the beach for a spot of sunbathing on Wednesday, the former glamour model, 45, left little to the imagination in a skimpy coral bikini with a black spotted print as she soaked up the sun. Katie showed off her famous cleavage in the revealing two-piece as she relaxed on the sand before heading to the ocean for a dip. The reality star also flaunted her new posterior in the colourful bikini, no doubt enjoying a spot of downtime after a wild week of partying on the Spanish island. Katie recently shared that her BBL proved to be her most 'painful' procedure, after jetting to Turkey for the botched surgery. Heading to the beach for a spot of sunbathing, the former glamour model left little to the imagination in a skimpy coral bikini Opening up to Katherine Ryan on her What's My Age Again? podcast last week, she said: 'I tried that BBL abroad where they take your own fat and put it in your bum. It was so painful. And it just did not look right on me.' Katie revealed the procedure took place in Turkey, but despite the painful experience, it hasn't diminished her enthusiasm for having cosmetic work done abroad. 'I would never have surgery in England again. Ever, ever,' she confessed. 'I'd always have it abroad.' Over the years, Katie has had at least 16 boob jobs, three rhinoplasties and two facelifts. Since arriving in O Beach in Ibiza, Katie has caught up with famous pals including Wayne Lineker, Dean Gaffney and Jamie O'Hara. The star was also seen partying with Conor McGregor at the Ibiza hotspot, with the MMA star going onto floor a partygoer with two punches at the infamous Pacha nightclub during his wild night out. Katie previously addressed her shrinking figure back in May in a post for her worried fans on Snapchat. She said: 'Yes I've lost weight. Yes that what I've wanted to do, I've wanted to lose weight. The reality star also flaunted her new posterior in the colourful bikini, no doubt enjoying a spot of downtime after a wild week of partying on the Spanish island A string of social media posts had led many of Katie's fans to share their worry over her figure 'Because the past three, four years ago when I broke my feet and I was in a wheelchair for 10 months because they said I'd never walk again, and obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair. 'And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight. So yeah I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn't me.' Last month, Katie branded herself 'ugly and disgusting' as she watched back video footage of herself undergoing plastic surgery in Turkey. In January, the mother-of-five flew abroad for 'tweaks' to her sixth £10,000 face lift and documented the trip for a new YouTube video. Filming herself reacting to the clips, she looked at herself getting prepared for theatre and mused: 'I'm so ugly there - that was before my surgery.' She admitted that the team of nurses 'don't always understand English', but revealed she was excited in the buildup because she 'loves being put to sleep.' Reflecting on her appearance pre-surgery, she said she looked 'very skinny and gaunt' and marvelled at the size of her breasts, revealing she plans to have more surgery on her assets in the future. Watching herself signing the consent form she confessed: 'I'm not not reading, just signing, I want to get in and get surgery done,' before adding: 'I actually look really fake and disgusting.' Katie, who was also getting a mini lift on her nose said she ignored the doctor's warnings about potential scarring and was just eager to get in and have her surgery. After undergoing the tweaks to her facelift and nose, the surgery wasn't finished for Katie. She had planned to get her ears pinned back to match her new taut visage, but after her blood pressure dropped during the surgery, the doctors advised she get the procedure the following day under local anesthetic. Watching herself getting the procedure, she insisted: 'It didn't hurt at all!' adding, 'but the question is - am I done?' Examining her face in the video, Katie continued: 'I do like how I look, it makes me want to have more now. 'It's so bad why am I watching this? I still think there's room now to pull more [skin]'. Katie added: 'The past three, four years ago when I broke my feet and I was in a wheelchair for 10 months... obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair' Katie continued: 'And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight. So yeah I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn't me' She admitted that the team of nurses 'don't always understand English', but revealed she was excited in the buildup because she 'loves being put to sleep' Watching herself signing the consent form she confessed: 'I'm not not reading, just signing, I want to get in and get surgery done,' before adding: 'I actually look really fake and disgusting' Katie, who was also getting a mini lift on her nose said she ignored the doctor's warnings about potential scarring and was just eager to get in and have her surgery She had planned to get her ears pinned back, but after her blood pressure dropped, the doctors advised she get the procedure the following day under local anesthetic She said: 'I always said I haven't got body dysmorphia but there's definitely something, I don't know what it is...' However, despite having had at least six face lifts, Katie insists that she is not scared of aging She said: 'I'm not afraid of getting old: I like getting old because you become wiser. But with the face and that I just think if there's something to tweak it's just easy to do' Despite her recent 'painful' surgeries, Katie was in high spirits as she larked about in the pool with one of her pals Speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast last year, Katie explained that she has never been happy with her body. She said: 'I always said I haven't got body dysmorphia but there's definitely something, I don't know what it is... 'I've never looked in the mirror and thought I'm pretty or whatever.' However, despite having had at least six face lifts, Katie insists that she is not scared of aging. She said: 'I'm not afraid of getting old: I like getting old because you become wiser.
