Star sparks concern with alarming photo
Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. Nick Carter's slimmed-down appearance has sparked concern among fans who are worried about his wellbeing. On Wednesday, the singer shared a relaxing selfie via Instagram ahead of practice for the Backstreet Boys' Las Vegas residency at the Sphere. 'Soaking up some Vegas heat before today's rehearsals,' Carter, 45, captioned the photo. Carter appeared in good spirits, wearing a grey hat and a dark red Ford T-shirt. Nick Carter's latest selfie, promoting the Backstreet Boys' upcoming residency in Las Vegas, has sparked fan concern. Fans couldn't help but voice their concerns about his thin frame in the comments section, however, with one writing, 'Sorry to say, but you look a bit too thin to me! … I hope you're okay, @nickcarter! Love you so much!' 'He looks very unhealthy, hope he is okay!' another added, as a third chimed in, 'I'm a [bit] nervous.' 'Maybe he took some Ozempic,' a fourth wrote, to which another snapped back, 'Maybe you should mind your business.' In another photo shared on Thursday with his daughter, Carter also appeared slimmer. Meanwhile, others rushed to Carter's defence, urging critics not to 'comment on other people's bodies.' 'Hey ladies … just like we don't want men commenting on our weight … men don't need to hear your opinions either,' one supporter wrote. '[I] think it's more out of concern … hope he's doing fine mentally and physically,' a second added. A source, meanwhile, told Page Six that Carter is 'not on Ozempic.' Fans immediately commented on the pop star's appearance as he looked like a shadow of his former self. Picture:According to the insider, the pop icon and his bandmates have been rehearsing for their Vegas residency 'for the past two months now' and 'working out non-stop.' 'It's not going to be an easy show,' the source continued, adding that Carter's social media proves that he has slowly slimmed down over the past few months. 'It didn't happen overnight,' they said. Reps for Carter did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment. The Backstreet Boys — which also consists of Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough — will begin their Into The Millennium residency at the Sphere starting July 11. Nick's return to the stage comes after the tragic deaths of three of his siblings, Leslie Carter, Aaron Carter and Bobbie Jean Carter, who passed away in 2012, 2022 and 2023, respectively. In November 2023, the I Want It That Way singer admitted he was still grieving his late brother, telling E! News that it 'hurts' not to have made amends before he passed. He also addressed Bobbie Jean's death in January 2024, writing via Instagram that 'it may take a lifetime to fully process the loss [his] family has endured over the years.' Nick was one of five siblings. The family is also survived by Aaron's twin sister, Angel. Megan Young and Mikael Daez sing Backstreet Boys song as lullaby for newborn
Megan Young and Mikael Daez are only a week old into their new roles as parents but it seems the Kapuso couple know exactly what to do — with their makeshift knowledge. On Instagram, Mikael posted a video of the two of them soothing their newborn with the Backstreet Boys song "I Want It That Way." Mikael was holding the baby, and Megan was gamely singing and dancing along and when they finished, the new dad told their baby, "that is what you call beautiful singing." "Vintage music," Megan piped in. "You're millennials but forgot all the usual lullabies," Mikael wrote in the video as he added in the caption, "kanya-kanyang diskarte para mapatahan ang baby." According to Mikael, at just a few days, they're just trying to figure out what works for their baby boy. "Instinctively napunta sa BSB bigla ang lullaby repertoire ko, si Bonez papuntang Doechii, sa tingin ko," he added. Megan and Mikael announced the birth of their firstborn last Wednesday. They tied the knot in 2020 in intimate ceremonies and in December 2024, announced they were expecting their first child, a baby boy. — LA, GMA Integrated News

Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean opens about addiction struggle: "Fortunately, I missed a large bullet"
Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean opens about addiction struggle: "Fortunately, I missed a large bullet" Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean has opened up about his addiction to drugs, sharing how close he came to catastrophe at the peak of the opioid epidemic. In an interview, McLean discussed his path through addiction, the turning points that altered his life, and how he eventually found hope and healing. "Dodged a Huge Bullet" Amid the fentanyl crisis When he guested on The Lulu Podcast , McLean, who has had hits such as 'I Want It That Way,' revealed that his use of drugs came close to ending in tragedy, particularly since the fentanyl epidemic was growing worse. Operation Sindoor 'Pakistan army moving its troops in forward areas': Key takeaways from govt briefing 'Pak used drones, long-range weapons, jets to attack India's military sites' 'Attempted malicious misinformation campaign': Govt calls out Pakistan's propaganda "Fortunately for me, I avoided a gigantic bullet because the fentanyl epidemic hadn't reached the level that it is today, but it was occurring; it was there, but it wasn't quite as common knowledge as it is today," he disclosed. McLean admitted he was lucky to have retreated before things could have gone in a deadly direction. A turning point in Miami McLean spoke about a very bleak incident three and a half years ago that turned around his recovery. He shared, "I was doing a show in Miami on my own with a friend of mine and I went out that night. I went hard." The artist confessed that one thing led to another, and he was again taking drugs. Once he returned home, he tried to conceal his relapse by consuming lots of coffee and breath mints. "I consumed a c**p tonne of coffee and tried breath mints and all this rubbish," he stated. Even though he tried to keep his addiction hidden, McLean's wife knew about his issues already. "My wife had known all along and was simply waiting for me to be truthful, which was my greatest issue for decades-being truthful with anyone concerning it because I was attempting to make it work. And naturally, as we all know, it worked until it did not," he confessed. The stress of addiction ultimately led to the dissolution of his 13-year marriage, McLean and his wife having two daughters together. Family and recovery The 'Missing You' singer revealed that it was his daughter who ultimately inspired him to seek help and turn his life around. Hitting rock bottom, McLean recognized the need for change and is now grateful for the second chance he's been given. 'I hit rock bottom, but I'm glad to have come out of it better,' he reflected.

Jerry Seinfeld Forced to Sing With Backstreet Boys at ‘SNL 50' Concert
Saturday Night Live's anniversary celebration got off to a rousing start with Friday's Homecoming Concert, with celebrities making appearances both on- and offstage. During the Backstreet Boys' performance of their 1999 classic 'I Want It That Way,' BSB member Brian Littrell headed into the audience in search of a celebrity to join in on their performance, and found an unlikely candidate: Jerry Seinfeld. #SNLHomecoming Jerry Seinfeld Wants it That Way #BackstreetBoys — LateNighter (@latenightercom) February 15, 2025 While former SNL hosts, like Paul Rudd, and cast members, like Maya Rudolph, could be seen singing their hearts out, Littrell opted to pass the mic to Seinfeld, who was smiling and clapping along as he tried to keep up with the beat, singing, '... ain't nothing but a mistake,' before Littrell headed back to the stage. The concert, designed to celebrate 50 years of SNL and broadcast on Peacock, boasted an incredible lineup, including the Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Dave Grohl, Post Malone, Snoop Dogg, Bad Bunny, and many more. Many former SNL cast members and hosts have returned to the studio for the festivities, although fan favorite Bill Hader is not one of them; according to his publicist, a 'longstanding schedule conflict' has kept him away from 30 Rock this weekend. Fans can expect to see beloved SNL alumni like Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Amy Poehler, Martin Short and Andy Samberg in the 50th anniversary special, alongside stars like John Mulaney, a former 'SNL' writer, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson, all of whom are members of the exclusive 'Five-Timers Club,' which means they've hosted SNL five times or more. SNL 50: The Anniversary Special will air on Peacock on Sunday Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
