Huge Robert shock in early Emmerdale ITVX release

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has returned to the Emmerdale village and as much as he won't accept it, he isn't the same man who left all those years ago. We saw Robert a few weeks ago, when he interrupted Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) wedding to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). It became apparent that Robert had been released after appealing, but he was quickly sent back inside after breaking the rules of his bail conditions. But with his small sentenced served, Robert was allowed back out of prison and wasted no time in heading back to the Dales. When he got there yesterday, Robert entered Mill Cottage flat due to John assuming he was the pizza delivery guy. Robert announced that he was back to spend time with his family – though it was obvious he had an ulterior motive as well. In tonight's episode, Robert told Vic that he'd spend the day trying to find a new job. He had passed the early hours of the morning walking through the village because he couldn't sleep, but told his sister it was because he had missed the fresh air. Robert headed up to the depot to see Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and spun a story about his life that didn't feature him in prison. Unfortunately for Robert, Caleb saw right through his lie due to being told about him by his brother. However, Caleb could see that Robert wanted a chance and gave him one. It made John angry later in the pub, even more so when Caleb failed to listen to him about Robert being bad news. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? That afternoon, while Vic was at the shop, Robert tried to catch up on some sleep. When she returned, Vic set about pouring a drink for the two of them. As she chatted away, she failed to realise Robert was suffering a bad dream about his time in prison. More Trending Vic tapped Robert's leg to wake him up but just as he opened his eyes, his confused state led him to punching Vic in the face. Robert tried to help her, but a panicked Vic told him to leave. Can she live alongside Robert and his trauma following years behind bars? Emmerdale 'confirms' Robron reunion in major clue after Robert's prison release

Emmerdale has seemingly confirmed John Sudgden's downfall in tonight's episode, as Robert It was another dramatic night in Emmerdale tonight, as Robert Sugden made his long awaited return to the village. Of course, he had to make a visit to see his ex Aaron and his brother John - and one huge clue has fans believing a Robron reunion is finally on its way. Aaron and John were seen having a romantic night in, when they heard a knock at the door. To their surprise, it was none other than Aaron's ex and John's brother, Robert at the door. Having just been released from prison, Robert smugly asked the pair if he could join their night. ‌ "This your gaffe? A bit pokey compared to where we used to live," he continued, before Aaron asked: "What are you doing here?" ‌ Rob then told the pair he had just been released from prison, before saying: "Thought I'd spend some time with my family." However, a less than impressed Aaron stood up and responded: "Well not here you're not, get out." Robert didn't put up a fight to stay, although he told Aaron he'd be seeing him soon. With a huge pause, he then ended the sentence by saying: "Family" and looking John straight in the eye. However, it was Aaron's face fans couldn't look away from as they noticed a smirk when his ex-lover walked into the room. Despite pretending in front of husband John he wanted Robert gone, he wasn't fooling fans. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: "The way Aaron smirked when Robert walked through the door. Oh John you're so done!" ‌ A second commented: "The way both Aaron and John know they're done for now, and both in completely different ways. "Aaron because he knows him and Rob are inevitable and John because he knows Robert will absolutely destroy him." Others were certain Rob would be the one to bring John down "I love Rob. he is going to taunt the hell out of John #emmerdale." Aaron and Robert recently shared a kiss during his wedding to John. Viewers recently saw John spiralling when he found out, making a dark threat to Robert suggesting he would hurt him if he went back to the village. ‌ If Aaron and Robert do get back together how will John react? Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.

John claims another victim in Emmerdale ITVX streaming release as Cain collapses

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) spent the morning looking for a new victim in Emmerdale, and he ended up choosing Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). Yesterday, John called a mental health aider and spoke about his insecurities surrounding his relationship with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). With Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) causing problems, John has been feeling paranoid about Aaron leaving him for his distant brother. The volunteer on the phone asked John what makes him feel good in his life. He opened up about being a paramedic, and said that he gets such a rush when he saves someone and everybody praises him afterwards. The person on the line, not knowing who John really is, suggested that he might feel better if he focuses more on his passion for his career. With that, an idea formed. John popped into the shop first thing in tonight's episode and got chatting to a vulnerable Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell). As he left to develop an idea of how to put the beloved character in danger, Cain arrived. Cain wanted to talk about Nate's upcoming funeral with Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh), but she made it perfectly clear the man was not welcome. The news really hurt Cain, and he tried to gain control of the situation by commenting on Eric's relationship with David. Eric hit back at Cain and said that his son is alive, unlike Nate. He knew that Cain was lashing out at Tracy because he couldn't deal with the fact his relationship with Nate was so broken when he died. Tears formed in Cain's eyes as Eric said this, clearly hitting the nail on the head. We later found Cain sitting by Zak's graveside with Sam (James Hooton). He had been sent some more of Zak's belongings by Debbie and within the box was some 'Moonshine', a dodgy bottle of his homemade whisky. It tasted vile but the strength of the alcohol hit the spot for Cain. He took the drink and wandered down the road, where he was spotted by John. By this point, John had developed a plan to put Eric in danger and was outside his house getting set up. As he watched Cain stagger towards him though, the situation changed. John left Eric and took Cain back to Butlers. There, he encouraged Cain to drink more and more. John pushed Cain so much, he ended up consuming a bottle of scotch and the majority of the whisky. A very drunk and disorientated Cain stood up, made his way to the lounge and then collapsed. John smiled as he stood over Cain's body – this, as far as he was concerned, was perfect. John put Cain in the recovery position just as Moira (Natalie J Robb) returned. As he rushed off to get his medical kit, we saw John smirking again, getting that buzz he was desperately craving yesterday. More Trending John set Cain up with a drip and advised Moira, who was beyond thankful that he was in the right place at the right time. Heading back to the flat, John was in a brilliant mood. Just as he felt like he was back in control though, it was torn away from him due to the flat doorbell ringing. Is it really suitable to televise this heartbreaking moment?

A typically emotional journey of highs and hard-to-watch heartbreak kicked off a seventh series of Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace (ITV1), which set Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell on the identity trail of two more foundlings. One, Simon Prothero, was left in an outside toilet block in Neath. The other, Lisa Dyke, was found in a car park in another child's pram outside a health clinic. They came to the LLF team to find out what happened. Both of their paths to finding out who left them and why were copybook Long Lost Family, which is to say, extremely moving throughout. I clocked the LLF TTT (Long Lost Family Time to Tears) at 3 minutes and 41 seconds, and I was welling up not long afterwards. Even for this most lachrymose of series, this is a resplendent triumph. If that sounds soulless and cynical, remember that this is commercial television that, for its success, relies on fomenting, through DNA testing, hugely sensitive situations and then filming the outcome to transfer those emotions to the empathetic viewer. Of course, the aim is to help your Simons and your Lisas to find out 'who they are', in the common coinage. But that's not the only aim. Long Lost Family does tread very carefully, which is to its credit. Difficult news is broken to its subjects off-camera. The meetings with newfound family are filmed in good taste and with minimal American-style schmaltz. On the other hand, television is always manipulative. Is it fair, for example, in the case of Simon here, to find his birth mother and then have to tell him that she didn't want to be contacted? Might that not make Simon feel lost and unwanted a second time over? To these jaded eyes, it makes Long Lost Family slightly queezy viewing. The great DNA revolution, with home testing and the concomitant genealogy boom, has undoubtedly helped lots of people to find out who they are. But it comes with side effects, too. Lots of people have found things out that, on reflection, it might have been better not to have known, and that now can't be un-known. Whatever your position, it certainly shouldn't be television producers influencing these genuinely life-altering choices. What was particularly fascinating in this episode was Simon's admitting that it was watching old series of Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace that inspired him to apply to the programme and dig up his own history in the first place. There's a cultural genealogy to television, too, one in which over time the things we watch affect how we behave. It's probably too early to tell whether the repeated posing of the question, 'Who do you think you are?' and the ability to find out on camera in the presence of Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell, has been an unmitigated good. Simon would be worth asking, but we never got that far.
