Kim Woodburn's recent health struggles as reality star dies aged 83

Kim Woodburn has passed away aged 83 following a short illness. Kim Woodburn has died aged 83 following a short illness. The beloved Channel 4 star passed away on Monday with a representative confirming her death today. A spokesperson for Kim said: "It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness. Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person. "Her husband Peter is heartbroken at the loss of his soulmate. We are so proud of the amazing things Kim achieved in her life and career. ‌ "We kindly ask that Kim's husband and close friends are given the time and privacy they need to grieve. We will not be releasing any further details." ‌ Kim -who rose to fame on the hit series How Clean is Your House? - starred on a number of shows including I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2009 and Celebrity Big Brother in 2017. She also regularly made appearances on ITV'S Loose Women and This Morning. The star's cause of death is not currently known but she suffered from some serious health complications just months before her death. Here we take a closer look at the health problems we know Kim had in the past.. 'Bad disc' in neck Kim underwent surgery in 2022 that involved her having a 'big gash' cut in her throat. The reality star, who was 80 at the time, had an operation to correct a bad disc in the back of her neck and had a titanium one fitted instead. Despite it being quite a gruesome procedure, Kim insisted she was 'fit as a fiddle' after it and did an interview on GB News where she insisted she wasn't ill. ‌ Kim told hosts Anne Diamond and Stephen Dixon: "I've got this on my neck. Now I had my neck cut yesterday. I did! I had a very bad disc in the back of my neck right here, and it was affecting my hands, so I haven't been able to use them. "So I went into hospital on Wednesday and he's cut my throat a big gash here – I've just had a chin lift you know, what a waste of money." The CBB contestant outlined how the doctor had cut open her throat and then "went in with his fingers, took out the disc in this hole in my neck and put a titanium disc in". ‌ She added: "How he did it through this hole I don't know." Kim, who was known for her carefree nature, uploaded a snap from her hospital bed on Instagram at the time, where she was seen wearing a bandage around her neck with her paper bedpan jokingly on her head. She asked fans: "My hospital outfit. Do you like the hat? Home tonight! Yippeee!" ‌ Kim was given stitches and rested for around five weeks after her operation. Emergency surgery Kim suffered another health complication earlier this year, just months before her passing. She was forced to take time off work in February and March after undergoing emergency eye surgery. ‌ Kim updated her followers on Instagram at the time: "We regret to tell you that Kim is unable to record any further videos for the foreseeable future due a health problem. Kim sends her love to you all." Alongside the announcement was an image featuring plain black text on a grey backdrop, and her team clarified in the post that her absence was "due to surgery to eye". ‌ Kim chose not to share specifics about the nature of her eye surgery earlier this year as she took time off to recover. However, she did address her loyal fans who sent her messages of support as she said: "No more videos for now, my loves, I need to get better!" ‌ Mortality confession Although the glamorous reality star never acted her age with her sassy sense of humour and iconic style, Kim was aware of her age. During an interview with OK! Magazine in 2022, she was asked how she felt about hitting her milestone 80th birthday. Kim said at the time: "I'm glad I've made it to 80, but if I had one wish it would be to be younger. You can't beat being young and planning ahead, thinking, ''In 10 years' time I'll do this'. "When you're 80, you don't know if you're going to be around the next year. I've done very well, but nobody wants to be 80."

Nadia Sawalha reveals the fate of Loose Women stars after fears some will be axed in ITV cull

NADIA Sawalha has revealed the fate of her fellow Loose Women stars after fears some will be axed in the ITV cull. The Loose Women line-up had been left in the dark about the cuts to their lunchtime talk show, which will take effect from January. 5 5 Sweeping changes announced earlier this month mean the female-led, lunchtime talk show will only air for 30 weeks a year. And now Nadia Sawalha, a resident panellist on the hit show, has lifted the lid on the fate of the show with what she knows. The Loose Women star described scenes of "shock and fear" in the corridors at ITV amid the major cost-cutting drive. Nadia became emotional as she shared what's been happening, appearing alongside husband Mark Adderley on her YouTube channel's Coffee Moaning series. But Nadia affirmed that all of the panellists are fine as it stands right now. "At the moment, actually, all of us on screen are in work and are proud of what we do," she said in the video. Before revealing this, she spoke about the kinds of contracts the Loose Women stars have, and also got tearful about the people who will be made redundant in the coming months. NADIA'S 'SELF-EMPLOYED' REVELATION "We're self-employed," she revealed about herself and her fellow panellists, adding how "every contract is a new contract". She then said: "I could be let go tomorrow, I could be let go in five years - you don't know, because we're not employees. So I can't tell you anything other than I'm on until my next contract." She added: "I feel tearful. Hundreds of people are gonna be made redundant," referring to those working behind the scenes. Nadia Sawalha in tears as she breaks silence on chaos at Loose Women offices after 'hundreds' of shock redundancies Speaking about the people who are being cut behind the scenes, she said how they "support us in every way" and noted how "you cannot have one without the other but it's just the way of the world". Nadia then spoke about how television is coming to a "natural end". ITV'S STATEMENT This comes after an ITV source revealed: "We are not planning any radical changes to the panel. "All of our Loose Women are hugely valued and we celebrate each and every one and the experience and opinions they bring to the show every day. ITV's daytime TV schedule changes in full Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily. Lorraine will run from 9.30am-10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year. During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am. This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year. Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year. The changes will take effect from January 2026. "Many of our long standing panellists have appeared on the show for the majority of its 25 year run on screens and those stalwart, Loose legends are at the core of the show's success and hugely popular with the audience. "The show remains a big priority within our daytime slate, having secured a BAFTA nomination, launched a podcast and celebrated a milestone anniversary in the last year alone." MORE ITV CUTS Loose Women isn't the only show affected by recently announced changes at ITV, that will come into play in 2026. Lorraine Kelly 's show has been cut to just 30 minutes a day and will also only air for 30 weeks of the year. Good Morning Britain, with hosts including Susanna Reid, Ed Balls and Kate Garraway, will take half an hour from Lorraine and will run from 6am to 9.30am. More than 220 jobs will be lost as part of the shake-up — almost half of the 450 employed on the four flagship shows GMB, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women. 5

ITV's Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad fans all voice same concern as season 6 ends

ITV'S Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad aired it's final episode of season six last night but fans were all left saying the same thing after it ended. Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad's sixth season finished up on Tuesday evening on May 6 with the father and son duo taking in the buzz of the city of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. The Gladiators c o-hosts have been travelling across Japan and Thailand, with numerous stops to check out local activities such as sumo-wrestling in Tokyo, bungee jumping in Gifu, go-karting in Osaka, and Muay Thai training in Bangkok. In the sixth episode, Barney arranged to take a ride on a death-defying jungle roller coaster, which promises to offer a unique and thrilling way to experience the beautiful surroundings, if you dare to keep your eyes open. Bradley and Barney also sampled the smelliest fruit in the world, with The Chase present left more horrified by the £36 price point rather than the stench. ‌ The pair also had a go on a wooden go-kart race that looks certain to invalidate anyone's travel insurance. After another entertaining episode, Bradley and Barney reflected on their six seasons of the programme and shared some of their favourite memories from the past series. ‌ While most fans enjoyed the walk down memory lane, many feared what the emotional moment could potentially mean regarding the future of the show, the Express reports. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one user exclaimed: "Really hope this wasn't the last series! I really enjoy watch Bradley and Barney's adventures!! #breakingdad". Another worried fan echoed: "Genuinely hope this isn't the final episode of #BreakingDad that I've watched tonight, this father and son are great to watch together!" A third chimed in: "Awww hope that isn't the last series. Such an entertaining show." ‌ It's not been announced if Bradley and Barney will return for a seventh series with no official announcement from ITV as of yet. Bradley has been a household name since he first graced our television screens in the late 1980s, initially hosting You Must Be Joking before going on to star in Coronation Street, The Larkins and Doctor Who. However, he is best known for his long-standing role as host of ITV's popular quiz show The Chase, which he has been a part of since it first aired in 2009. ‌ His more recent roles include presenting the BBC's revival of Gladiators alongside his wife Barney. This isn't the first time the father and son duo have worked together as they have been presenting ITV's Breaking Dad together since 2019, which continues to be a hit with viewers. Reflecting on their long-running collaboration, Bradley added: "From the age of 18, he's now 26 by the way, that's how long the show's been running, it was just extraordinary."
